Theatre Opportunities at UW-Waukesha
Theatre at UW-Waukesha offers students many opportunities
to get involved right away. If acting, lighting, sound, costuming
or other technical areas are an interest, we likely have a match
for that student. We offer introduction to theatre, acting class,
and hands on courses in Theatre Laboratory for credit.
Auditions are open to anyone as a student, they do not have to
be a theatre major. We have many students who start their
theatre classes here then successfully continue their performance studies at
Production of Fuente Ovejuna
UW- Milwaukee, Madison, Parkside, Whitewater as well as Carroll University. There are productions in the fall, spring
and summer. We present a variety of types of work: comedies, dramas,
newer plays and classics. In the summer we often present musicals in
collaboration with our music department that also include community
members. The summer also allows for our annual Children's Theatre
production. There are many opportunities to get involved, and advance their
skills and training in the theatre arts at UW-Waukesha. What is really
wonderful is watching so many students grow in confidence, increase their
focus and forge a great path on their academic journey.

Follow Jasmine through her Freshman Year at UW-Waukesha
Jasmine is well on her way to completing her first semester of college at UW-Waukesha. Here is a brief update on
how things are going:
What does your schedule look like? Currently I am enrolled in English 101, Math 105, HES 213, LEA 112, and LEC
100. I have my schedule set up so that I have from 11-1 everyday with no class, and also no classes on Fridays, this
gives me time to do my homework and catch up on anything I might not have completed. I have roughly 6 hours of
homework to do a week. When I started college I figured I wouldn't have time to even breathe let alone have a social life,
but once I got into the swing of things I realized that I still have plenty of time to do it all. I have my two hour study breaks
everyday and only work roughly 15 hours a week, and I usually have weekends to spend with my friends if I don't have a
project or something to finish up.
Students at UW-Waukesha are able to utilize noon to 1pm as a Common Hour where no classes are scheduled. This is a
great opportunity for students to get involved in a variety of activities as well as take advantage of academic advising walk
-in hours, financial aid walk-in hours and professor office hours.
Have you utilized any support services on campus? Seeing as I am in the TRIO program here on campus I have
had the privileges of working with an English and math tutor. My LEA 112 class is basically a math study hall and I definitely plan on taking another one of those classes again next semester.
TRIO is a federally funded support service which helps students to navigate the world of higher education and create a
sense of community on campus. In addition to individual tutoring, it offers intensive academic advising, career exploration
and transfer planning.
How would you describe the campus environment?
The campus environment is extremely friendly, just about anyone is willing to help you if you need it, and with the small
classes I can get the extra help that I may need. I really enjoy going to school here and will miss it when I transfer out.

The Continuing Education Department at UWWaukesha offers ACT Prep classes.
Each semester UW-Waukesha hosts a transfer fair to
assist our students in planning their future.

over 35 transfer institutions, some of which had multiple
departments represented. For example, UW-Milwaukee
had each of their schools and colleges attend.
