As I watch the world news I’m reminded of how much we have to be
thankful for in Canada. The problems we face are very small compared to
what much of the world is facing; from natural disasters to financial and
economic problems.
Over the past year we have placed a major emphasis on understanding
our Heavenly Father’s unconditional love and receiving it. As I read
through the daily posts on our CVC Facebook page I'm encouraged by
your thankfulness to God, even in the midst of the daily challenges you
face, because it demonstrates your trust in his love for you. We must
continue to help one another keep our eyes on what God has done and is
doing in the midst of things we are still waiting to see be transformed.
Apostle & Prophet Dr. Russ Moyer confirmed to us that CVC is called as a forerunner in the body of
Christ, to lead the way for others. We have done much to support various ministries including persecuted
Messianic pastors in Israel, the poor in our own city, bringing light to the issue of sex slavery with Shelly
Lubben, touching the nation of Honduras and India, plus supporting our missionary – Linda Currie in
Mozambique. Together we have invested our time talent and treasure to see the kingdom of God
advanced and we are thankful for these opportunities to co-labour together with Jesus Christ and with
one another.
This is a busy time where we all struggle to keep our priorities balanced and focused on the reason for
the season. I believe the way we best resist this temptation of Satan is through cultivating an attitude of
gratitude and looking for ways to be a blessing. For this reason as we prepare to celebrate the birth of
Jesus I want to give you time to consider sowing a special financial gift as an expression of your love to
the One I know you love so dearly – Jesus (Christ) our Saviour. The bible tells us that we should not give
under compulsion, but each should give as they have purposed in their heart. I want to give you time to
pray and ask Jesus what you might do for Him as we celebrate His birthday. Enclosed you will find a
BLUE ENVELOPE you may use if you wish to give a special gift to Jesus this Christmas.

As I write this letter we have just finished 2 Services with
Dr. Russ Moyer. Dr. Moyer is an apostle and prophet to the
nations, traveling extensively throughout North America,
Africa, Europe and the Caribbean. He is the founder and
president of Eagle Worldwide Ministries: an apostolic
resource Centre in Ontario. Dr. Moyer provided us a
powerful message on the importance of discipleship and
mentoring, moving to a season of bearing and revealing
fruit and releasing leadership with an anointing for
multiplication. He released a prophetic word for CVC; that
we are called to establish legacy. It takes leaders for this to
manifest and the need to be intentional at guarding against
distraction and disappointment.
Confronting Pornography
Over the last quarter we also had the privilege of hosting Dr. Shelley Lubben (a former porn star, who
was radically saved) and her husband Garret. Our goal for this weekend conference was to help
change the attitudes of condemnation that are associated with people who struggle with this lifestyle or
addiction both in the church and outside of it. It was our desire that people from the community would
feel safe enough to come and experience Gods healing power
and be set free from the bondage of sexual addiction and the
spirit of lust. A man came from as far as Edmonton and
experienced new freedom as well as local community members.
Shelley’s testimony was so heartfelt; real and raw. She so
humbly revealed all the things she had been a part of throughout
her life; how she got there and how she got out and set free. Her
testimony had us all laughing and crying as we were all able to
connect with her on a personal level. During our evening service
Garrett spoke to men on how to bless their wives and children.
The results were amazing and the whole church was so
touched; we had many man tell us how that evening changed
them forever.
Shelley and Garret’s love for the Lord and their passion for people were so evident. Their story is such
an incredible testimony to the fathers love for us and how with God all things are possible. Shelley and
Garrett are a powerful team with a great anointing. The feedback that we had after Shelley and
Garrett left was amazing. “It opened our eyes to the truth about Porn and helped us see there is hope”
