The art of fire
Design for the modern home is simple and purposeful.
Distinctive, high-quality, details from parts to whole This
classical language of form is a Danish tradition that is
meant to be experienced, like the warmth of a soft cashmere blanket or the remarkable performance of a luxury
car.
We call it the Art of Fire – an uncompromising aesthetic
concept based on 35 years of compelling curiosity and
the inclination and will to develop that which is inspiring.
When it comes to function, form and quality, we never

very best is good enough for the modern home.
For this reason RAIS collaborates with the Danish Technology Institute and Aalborg University, constantly working to combine materials, knowledge and trends in new
ways to meet contemporary demands for highly efficient
and environmentally-friendly wood-burning stoves, in
which intelligent technology and elegant style meld together in original, designer stoves.

DESIGN CLASSIC
Our design has always been our trademark. A wood-burning stove has to last many years and for us it is extremely
important that it is always a joy to look at.
Design is more than meets the eye and we constantly
work to improve our products so that they can live up
to ever-increasing expectations for better combustion and
better use of the heat source.
QUALITY
Design, choice of materials, manufacturing processes,
customer guidance. All these elements are an essential
part of creating a quality product, and at RAIS we are
always conscious of the need to continually develop and
improve individual elements. To maintain the strength of
the entire chain RAIS collaborates with the following organizations:

VISUAL IMPRESSIONS..
Visual impressions are extremely important to me when it comes
to layout. But functionality must never suffer for the sake of good
looks. I don’t mind spending a lot of time looking for just the
right form of expression that encompasses both aspects. And
for this very reason, my wood-burning stove from RAIS is the
perfect solution. The design is timeless yet, modern and at the
same time, it heats the room extremely well and very quickly,
while living up to current and future demands for less pollution.

TRENDS IN INTERIOR DESIGN..
If you take a look at interior design over a period of time, say the
last five to 10 years, the mega-trend is: Quality, Simplicity and
Function. Whereas you used to see masses of decoration, loops
and flourishes, now you see pure style and simple lines. Design
classics have made a tremendous comeback, in Denmark as well
as abroad. RAIS is part of that trend, a design icon that shapes
part of the core rooms of a home, where we enjoy ourselves and
socialize.

Rais X-BASIC
The RAIS X-Basic fireplace has a striking linear
design. Nothing detracts from its radiant center.
Very cool design features include
sophisticated eco-wise burning technology,
innovative sliding door, and a safe-touch
handle.
9
ENVIRONMENT
When used correctly, a wood-burning stove is one of the
most environment-friendly forms of energy available. If
fired properly, burning dry wood is completely CO2neutral. What we continue to work on is better use of
heating value and the improvement of smoke cleansing.
We constantly strive to make advancements, and as a
result several of our stoves carry the Scandinavian Swan
Eco-Label.
INDOOR CLIMATE
Because many homes have been built to air-tight
standards, RAIS developed the Air-System that permits
fresh air to be drawn in from outside. However to ensure
that Air-System operates properly the installation must
be designed to make sure that under pressure does not
occur in the dwelling.

CO 2 NEUTRAL
The environmental issue of reducing CO2 emissions is something
we feel very strongly about at RAIS. We therefore take an active part in the development of new cleaner technologies. When
used correctly, CO2 emissions from a RAIS wood-burning stove
compare with the amount of CO2 the tree would have given off if
the wood was left to decompose in its natural surroundings.
Particle emissions
(PAH)
RAIS has reduced the emission of particles from all its stoves
due to many years of experience and ongoing development of
unique fire boxes. In fact, our stoves have documented United
States EPA and Norwegian approval, and several even carry the
Scandinavian Swan Eco-Label to illustrate that our product is a
good environmental choice.

Rais RONDO 92/120

without the firewood storage space and

Easy to use
Lighting a RAIS wood-burning stove is easy. It is a question of
making the best possible use of the firewood.
You do this by using dry firewood of a suitable size, not putting
too much of it in the stove and above all, regulating the flow of
air, starting with a lot and the using less once the flames have
taken hold. The one-handle air regulation system on RAIS woodburning stoves has been improved and simplified.
CONVECTION STOVES
RAIS’s stoves are convection stoves. Convection means that the air is circulated and is thus distributed more evenly throughout the home. Cold
air is drawn in at the base of the stove and up through the convection
channel running alongside the firebox of the stove. The heated air flows
out of the top of the stove thus ensuring circulation of hot air in the
home.
One advantage of convection stoves is that the surface does not get as
hot as that of a traditional stove.
