The experience of a
high altitude hike
in Val Gardena
From the valley basin it is only a short walk through forests and meadows to the Dolomites, which some regard as the most beautiful mountains on earth. The south of
Val Gardena is dominated by the Sassolungo group, in the south east the Sella resides majestically, and the Puez-Odle group encloses the valley in the north east.Lifts
can facilitate ascent and descent, while family led lodges along the trails invite you to linger, offering local gastronomical treats. A well-connected bus system guarantees flawless connections between the three towns that make up our valley. Free use of all buses, exclusive for guests of accommodation establishments which are
members of a Tourist Association in Val Gardena. There are countless hiking options comprising all difficulty ranges, which can be found on trekking guides and maps.

FROM THE RESCIESA PASTURE TO THE SECEDA PASTURE VIA THE PANA WIND GAP,
INSIDE THE PUEZ-ODLE NATURAL RESERVE
(difficulty: easy until Brogles, hard through the Panas wind gap)
STARTING POINT: ORTISEI (1.236 m)

Top station of the Resciesa lift (2.103m) > walk along the flat Resciesa pasture (Trail No.35) >
To Brogles hut (2119m) Walking time: 1.5 hours - “Ëur de Bredles” > Up the Panascharte (steep climb to
2447m) (Trail No.6) Walking time: another 2 hours > Across the Seceda pasture > Ortisei (Trails No.6,
No.8 and No.9) > alternatively take the Seceda or Col Raiser lift > S.Cristina

Trail No. 527 and No. 526 > top station of the Mont de Sëura chairlift or directly to Monte Pana.
Alternative: Sella pass > Sassolungo wind gap (also with the lift, 2.685m) (trail No. 525)

SËURASAS: A LONELY PASTURE WITH A BEAUTIFUL VIEW

S.Cristina > Col Raiser lift (2.106m) across the meadows of the Mastlé Pasture (Seceda)
(trail No. 2) > “Lech Sant”: hiking time: 1 hour
Cuca hill > Pic mountain (2.363m) > Sëurasas (2.176m) (trail No. 6A) Hiking time: 2,5 hours
Alternative: Cuca hill > walk around the Pic mountain (trail No. 6A) > Trail No. 20

FROM THE GARDENA PASS TO THE PUEZ PLATEAU, IN THE HEART OF THE

Selva - Dantercëpies lift (2.298m) > Trail No. 12A > Jimmy hut > Cir pass (2.462m).
Across the Dolomites high altitude hike No. 2 - Crespëina pass (2.528m), past the mountain sea
“Lech de Crespëina” > Ciampei pass > Puez hut (2.475m): hiking time: 3 hours
Puez hut - Trail No. 14 (somewhat steep descent) or continue up to trail No. 2, 4 and then
No. 16 to Vallunga/Selva.
CROSSING OF THE SELLA, THE “MOUNTAIN OF THE LADIN PEOPLE”

STARTING POINT:
BUS FROM ORTISEI, S.CRISTINA OR SELVA
Total hiking time: 7 hours
In the morning with the bus to the Pordoi pass (2.239m) > Pordoi lift (2.950m) >
Dolomites high altitude hike No. 2 > “l’Antersas” or alternatively through the trail No. 638.
Ascent to the Piz Boè (3.151m): hiking time 2,5 hours
Go ahead to the Pisciadu hut (2.585m): another 2 hours
and descent through Val Setus trail No. 2 > Gardena pass. From this point you can return by bus.
Alternative: also from the Gardena pass to the Pordoi pass (from south to north)

Sassolungo wind gap trail No. 525 > Toni Demetz lodge or Vicenza hut
(possibilities of an overnight stay) > Federico Augusto trail > Sasso Piatto hut (2.297m)

top station Alpe di Siusi/Ortisei cable car. Descent with the cable car to Ortisei. Cross the
town till the Resciesa lift. Ascent to Resciesa (2.103m)

Resciesa > across the mainly flat pasture of the Resciesa trail No. 35 >
Brogles hut (2.2.119m) > “Ëur de Bredles” to the steep ascent of the Pana
wind gap (2.447m) trail No. 6 from the Mastlé pasture and the Cisles Pasture to
the Firenze hut or the “Alpine Hotel Col Raiser” (possibility of an overnight stay).
