days out...
Call us old fashioned
Buckets and spades. Sand between your toes. Trying to
decipher the words in a stick of rock. The promise of ice
cream before bed. What’s not to love about Llandudno?
Our range of attractions is a big hit with families, too.
Take a boat trip around the Great Orme, see the sights from
an open top bus, get to know the animals at Bodafon Farm,
or for a spot of nostalgia, take a ride on the Great Orme
Tramway which celebrated its 110th birthday in 2012.

Llandudno Land Train
North Shore and Promenade
Llandudno Land Train
There’s never a dull moment at
the North Shore! All the best oldfashioned ways to enjoy our beautiful
coast are here. Punch and Judy
shows, donkey rides on the sand, ice
cream on the pier, live music from
the bandstand. Not forgetting falling
asleep in your deckchair! Plus, a play
area, paddling pool and snacks at the
Prom’s east end.
Llandudno Town Band
Map Ref:D7
Still blowing strong after over 100
years, Llandudno Town Band is
live from the bandstand on the
promenade every Sunday and
Monday from 27th of May to Sunday
25th August at 7.30pm. Sunday Songs of Praise; Monday a concert of
popular music (weather permitting).

One of the best ways to see
Llandudno is from a boat – just ask
Roger Ellis. Hop aboard Sea-Jay and
Roger will take you for a water-based
sightseeing trip to see the Little Orme
and Great Orme; or a longer sea
fishing trip where you can enjoy the
breathtaking coastline in the hope of
catching your own dinner.

Few modes of transport
raise more smiles, from both
passengers and passers-by,
than the Llandudno Land
Train. The urge to wave to the
crowds, as the multi-coloured
engine ‘chuffs’ its way
between the North and West
Shore, is too much to resist.
And who would want to?

Punch and Judy Map Ref:C5

The Codman family has been
performing this firm seaside
favourite for over 150 years, and
they're still going strong today.
With daily performances at North
Shore Promenade from Easter to
September, daily at 2pm and 4pm
(and 12pm during school holidays
and weekends) also schools by
appointment. Weather permitting.
West Shore
Llandudno’s quieter shore has play
areas for children and adults too.
Plus a pond perfect for model
boats. Look out across the mouth
of the Conwy Estuary to see some
of the best views around, and
(if your timing’s good) the most
spectacular sunsets.

Did you know?
Alice Liddell (Alice in Wonderland)
spent many of her childhood
summers in Llandudno.
The Liddell family, including
daughter Alice, first came to
Llandudno at Easter 1861 staying
at the St Tudno Hotel. They liked
the area so much that they had
a house built on the West Shore.
The family were friends with
Charles Dodgson, better known
as Lewis Carroll. His adventurous
stories, ‘Alice’s Adventures in
Wonderland’ and ‘Through the
Looking-Glass’ were inspired by
the young Alice.
