Delivering Solutions for Fiber Optic Technology High temperature polymer coatings and extruded sheathings. Enhanced Performance Diverse product options. • Fiber Optic Coatings • Furcation Tubing / Sheathing: standard and custom sizes / tolerances with coloring options available • Heat Shrinks – PTFE, FEP, PEEKShrink®, ETFE, PFA, PTFE/FEP Dual-Shrink® • Aeos® ePTFE Tubing – Our most flexible tubing • Custom Fillers – Glass additives enhance bonding and control longitudal change, carbon fiber improves crush resistance and barium provides visibility • Secondary/Value-add - Flaring, etching, drilling & more DUAL-SHRINK® FEATURE Dual-Shrink® heat shrink is an ideal example of our protective insulation. It will encapsulate and protect your fiber optic housings, cables, and connectors from elevated temperature or moisture. OUR CORE RESINS We offer fiber optic coatings and extruded sheathings from polymers such as PEEK, PFA, ETFE, PVDF, FEP and ECA. In the table below, we detail key benefits of each extruded resin by market. ENERGY PEEK (260˚C) Abrasion Resistance, Mechanical Integrity, Thermal Stability PFA (-200˚C to 260˚C) Wide Temperature Stability, Low Coefficient of Thermal Expansion, Low Smoke/Toxicity ECA (300˚ C) Chemically Inert, Improved Permeation Resistance, High Temperature Threshold AEROSPACE PFA SPECIAL TELECOM FIBER FEP (-200˚C to 260˚C) Wide Temperature Stability, Low Coefficient of Thermal Expansion, Low Smoke/Toxicity (-150˚C - 148˚C) Low Water Absorption, Wide Temperature Stability FEP PVDF (-200°C to 204°C) Low Water Absorption, Wide Temperature Stability, Low Coefficient of Friction (-200˚C to 200˚C) & ETFE (150˚C) Chemical Resistant *PTFE is currently not available as a coating. PTFE NUCLEAR ETFE (148˚C) Radiation Resistance, Mechanical Integrity, Low Water Absorption & PVDF AUTOMOTIVE PTFE (260˚C) Temperature Stability, Dry Lubrication, Low Coefficient of Friction, Low Water Absorption* (150˚C) PEEK (260˚C) Abrasion Resistance, Mechanical Integrity, Thermal Stability FEP (-200°C to 204°C) Low Water Absorption, Wide Temperature Stability, Low Coefficient of Friction NYLON MEDICAL PTFE Low Coefficient of Friction, Class VI Approved PEEK Enhanced Pushability, Autoclave and Gamma Resistant, Class VI Approved ETFE Improved Strength and Performs well with ETO, Autoclave and Gamma Sterilization, Class VI Approved Fiber Optic Coatings Specialized Extrusions High performance protection for harsh environments. We offer a variety of sizes, shapes, colors and custom profiles. Coatings protect fibers in situations requiring mechanical strength, temperature stability, and resistance to radiation/abrasion. We’ll help you find the right coating options for your application. MULTI-LUMEN Orients fibers for connectors or cable designs SPIRAL CUT Abrasion resistant, high temperature bundling option C) B) CONVOLUTED Flexibile, low friction abrasion protection A) Polymer Coated Optical Fiber: A) Polymer Protection — PEEK, ECA (300°C), ETFE, PVDF, PFA, FEP and more. B) Primary Coating — Polyimide, Acrylic, etc. C) Fused Silica Glass Core and Cladding Assembly Aids for Sheathing ENGINEERED SURFACE TUBING Micro-structured surface channels decrease friction and strain PFA Chemical and permeation resistance at extreme temperatures (260°C) AEOS® ePTFE Hydrophobic, gas permeable, flexible and chemically inert sheathing Simplifying sheathing with extrusion solutions. • Extrude sheathing over various wires or monofilament to act as an assembly aids to pull fibers into sheathing. Eliminate feeding or flushing fibers into sheathing. • Secondary/Value-add Services such as flaring, slitting and drilling available. • Collaborate with our extrusion engineers to find the right extrusion solution for your project. FOCUS ON ORIENTATION Ask about our diverse catalog of multi-lumens — tubes with separate channels to orient fibers for connectors and cables.
