Celebrate Cinco de Mayo a day early at the Madison Club with a cooking class featuring authentic Mexican tacos! Cooking CLASS: strawberries TUESDAY, JUNE 28 at 6 pm Freshly-picked strawberries are delicious on their own, but they are also a lovely ingredient for standout summer dishes! This class will focus on how to use strawberries in a variety of ways, including gazpacho, bruschetta, vinaigrette, desserts and more! Class price is $55++ per person and includes beverages and snacks. This class is limited to 10 students. All participants must be 16 years of age or older. Reservations: 608-255-4861. driftless glen whiskey tasting Thursday, June 9 at 6 pm DINING REWARDS Starting Next Month! concerts on the square Sign up June 1 - 30, 2016 Join the Madison Club and Jamie Duffey, Brand Manager for Driftless Glen Distillery out of Baraboo, Wisconsin, to learn about their line of craft spirits. Driftless Glen is known for their vodka, young rye whiskey, wonderful 5 yr. reserve brandy, and double barreled gins. Everything is distilled by them at their Baraboo distillery, except for the brandy which is distilled in Cognac, France before being “finished” here. After the whiskey tasting, head to our lower level patio for a grill-out and tap beer from MobCraft! Want to save money while using the Club? Join our popular dining rewards program! During the month of June only, members can pre-purchase dining credits for use on dining, drinks and Madison Club events. Banquets and gift certificates, merchandise and parking are excluded from use. For every $500 of dining credits purchased, the Madison Club adds $100 in bonus credits to your account. This is our way of saying thank you to our members for making the Madison Club a regular destination for fine dining and events. Look for the sign-up form in your next billing statement. Dining credits must be purchased in increments of $500. Wednesdays June 29 - august 3 Come experience the sounds of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra’s Concerts on the Square series from our VIP table in the heart of the action. Our chefs and first-class servers will be on hand to cater to you throughout the show. Distinctive menus with wine accompaniments will be featured each week of the series. Donelan will be at the event to discuss his portfolio one-on-one. Donelan Wines are usually available only at the winery in Sonoma or through private wine club affiliation, but Madison Club members will have the rare opportunity to place orders for their favorite wines that evening. Join other craft beer and spirit enthusiasts on Thursday, May 12, for the Madison Club's private distillery and brewery tour. Hop Head Beer Tours will guide us through an educational and tasty tour around the city. The bus departs from outside of the Madison Club, where the first stop will be Old Sugar Distillery. Old Sugar's staff will lead you through a tasting of their hand-crafted spirits, a discussion on the process of distilling, and your choice of one of their craft cocktails. Next, we'll visit House of Brews, where you will learn about the brewing process with a tour of the brewing facility and a sampling of their locally-brewed beer. For our last stop, we'll visit a favored neighborhood brewery, Next Door Brewing Company. You'll have your choice of a pint of beer or a flight of three sample pours, and will be able to enjoy dinner if you choose (dinner is an added expense and is not included with ticket price). Born in Madison and raised in Wonewoc, Moren has been a resident of Wisconsin for his entire life. He attended UW in 1959, and after graduating, purchased a restaurant with his brother in 1968. He spent the next 45 years creating small businesses, as well as buying, selling, and developing real estate. He entered back into the restaurant business in 1990 with the opening of Monty’s Blue Plate Diner. Moren has served as Chairman of Food Fight Restaurant Group since its inception in 1995, and continues to do so now. Managing Partner Caitlin Suemnicht began her career with Food Fight in 2001 as a server at the newly-opened Johnny Delmonico's. After graduating with a degree in Sociology in 2006, Caitlin moved into a leadership position at Food Fight, overseeing a range of properties before becoming a managing partner in 2012. Morin is most known for her article "13 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do," which was viewed by over 10 million people. She now has a book published in over 20 languages on the same topic. Kate Foley, Madison door security important note To ensure the continued safety and comfort of our members and guests at the Madison Club, we are installing new and updated security measures throughout the building to be completed by the end of March. Starting April 1, the Madison Club will be locking all doors after 9 PM. After this time, you can either use your parking card and scan at the door or page the intercom to gain entry from the front desk. We appreciate and thank you for your patience as we implement these new security features. Dr. Foley relocated to Madison from Milwaukee following a career change. She left academia (anthropology/ archaeology) for a position at American Family Insurance where she currently works as a Business Analyst. With a father in the Marines, she grew up moving extensively across the East Coast and California. Her parents and five siblings are still scattered bicoastally as they're also in the Navy/Marines. Kate is an avid equestrian and spends her free time with her 2 horses (Arabian mares). Christine Kiire, United Kingdom/Madison Christine is an ophthalmologist and Fulbright scholar currently working at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is passionate about reducing avoidable blindness on a global scale. Christine loves to travel, listen to classical music, keep fit, meet new people and learn new skills. Rob and Claire Kitson, Verona Mr. Kitson is an Account Executive for Entercom Madison. Ms. Kitson is a Baker for Epic. The couple hosted their wedding reception at the Madison Club last month.
