CASING SCRAPER
PRODUCT 10-010
The Techwest Casing Scraper is used to remove foreign matter on the inside
casing wall in order to provide a smooth clean casing I.D. for running and
setting packers and other sub-surface equipment.
The Casing Scraper features a one piece body with full 360° casing I.D.
coverage provided by six, spring load Scraper Blades. The design also features
a large bypass area around and between the blades for ease of circulating. Each
blade is secured in its own individual pocket and ensures that all thrust and
rotational forces are absorbed directly by the one piece body. No special tools
other than a Pipe Vise are required to change the blades or springs. The Casing
Scraper features leaf type Incoloy Springs behind each self-sharpening blade,
providing a maximum usage before repairs or replacement is necessary.
API regular Pin up and Box down are normally supplied with the Casing
Scraper, with other connections available if required.
OPERATION
The Casing Scraper may be run on tubing or drill pipe and operated equally well
when reciprocated vertically or when rotated. Normally, rotation is not
necessary unless restrictions are encountered. In areas where packers or other
tools are to be set, the scraper should be reciprocated through a number of times
to ensure the casing is clean and smooth.

TUBING SWIVEL
PRODUCT 10-015
The Tubing Swivel provides a safe means of rotating the tubing string while
circulating with a treating line connected. It is primarily used in conjunction
with the SST or B-52 Selective Tools, to provide a means of operating the ByPass Valve while the treating line is connected.
It can also be used to facilitate the operation of other Techwest Packers, or for
light drilling.
When using this swivel, it is strongly recommended that the treating line be
secured to the Tubing Swivel with a suitable safety chain or cable.

WR BRIDGE PLUG
PRODUCT 10-049
The WR Bridge Plug combines the advantages of wireline setting with easy and
reliable retrievability. It is commonly used for zone or well isolation during
Fracturing, Acidizing, Cement Squeezing, Testing or well head repair
operations.
This Bridge Plug may be run and set on wireline using a Baker E-4 Wireline
Pressure Setting Assembly. It may also be run on tubing or endless tubing using
a Hydraulic Setting Tool.
The WR’s double acting slips securely anchor the Bridge Plug against pressure
differentials from above or below. The three element pack off design ensures
reliable sealing at high pressures and temperatures.
The unique equalizing valve design allows any pressure differential to be
equalized before the Retrieving Head is latched onto the plug. This feature is
especially advantageous when retrieving the WR on endless tubing.
The many advantages of this Bridge Plug include compact design - accurate
setting depth - differential pressure rating of 10,000 PSI and a straight on and
straight pull to release.
OPERATION
The WR Bridge Plug is connected to the Wireline (or Hydraulic) Setting Tool,
run to required setting depth and set.
The WR Retrieving Tool (Product 10-081) is used to retrieve the Bridge Plug.
When using the tool on endless tubing, a Safety Sub (Product 20-032) must be
used in conjunction with the Retrieving Head.
The Retrieving Tool is lowered onto the Bridge Plug while circulating any sand
or other debris off the plug. The Retrieving Head will open the valve, allowing
any pressure differential to equalize. Continued downward movement will latch
the Retrieving Head onto the Bridge Plug - upward motion releases the plug.
The Retrieving Head may be disconnected from the Bridge Plug if necessary
with approximately 8 to 10 turns of right hand rotation while holding a slight
amount of tension.

B-52 STRADDLE PACKER
PRODUCT 10-062
The B-52 Straddle Packer is an integral packer type selective tool used to isolate
generally available with spacings of 0.5m up to 3m.
It features two sets of three packing elements and a large automatic equalizing
system. The B-52 uses button type hydraulic hold down slips to fix it securely
in position under high pressure differentials.
As standard the B-52 uses a wireline retrievable blanking bar to blank off below
the tool, and if necessary a wireline blanking plug or blow plug may be
substituted.
OPERATION
The assembly is run into the well with the By-Pass Valve open to a position
above or below the perforations. The tubing is rotated to the left to close the
By-Pass Valve and set the slips. The required amount of tubing weight is then
slacked off onto the assembly to pack off the elements. The assembly may now
be pressure tested against the blank casing.
The tools are then released by picking up on the tubing and rotating to the right
to open the circulating valve and lock the slips in the running position.
The tools may now be moved to the first interval to be tested or treated. If using
a Fluid Control Valve it would be dropped at this time. If necessary the By-Pass
Valve may be opened to circulate fluid to bottom.
All that is necessary to move the tools to a higher position in the well is to pick
the tools up to that position and slack weight off onto the tools again. If the tools
are being used for selective acidizing purposes, it is recommended that the
stages are done from the bottom up.
If the tools are to be moved to a lower position in the well, it will be necessary
to unset the packers before moving down. The By-Pass Valve should be opened
before retrieving the tools from the well.

HD STRADDLE PACKER
PRODUCT 10-162
The HD Straddle Packer is an integral packer type selective tool used to isolate a
pre-determined length of perforations for stimulation or testing purposes. It is
generally available with spacing of 0.5m up to 3m.
Featuring two sets of three packing elements and a large automatic equalizing
system, the HD uses button type hydraulic hold down slips to fix it securely in
position under high pressure differentials.
A wireline retrievable blanking bar is used to blank off below the tool, and if
necessary a wireline blanking plug or blow plug may be substituted.
All that is necesaary to move the tools to a higher position in the well is to pick
the tools up to that position and slack weight off onto the tools again. If the
tools are being used for selective acidizing purposes, it is recommended that the
stages are done from the bottom up.
If the tools are to be moved to a lower position in the well, it will be necessary
to unset the packers before moving down. The By-Pass Valve should be opened
before retrieving the tools from the well.

B HYDRAULIC SETTING TOOL
PRODUCT 10-271
The B Hydraulic Setting Tool is used to run and set on Tubing, Coiled Tubing or
Drill Pipe most packers which are normally set on wireline. It is especially
applicable for use in deviated wells where it is not practical to run the tools on
wireline or in situations where a Wireline Unit is not available.
The B Setting Tool uses a bottom connection identical to the Baker E-4 Pressure
Setting Assemblies. It is uniquely designed so additional piston sections may be
added in order to lower the required setting pressure.
OPERATION
This Setting Tool uses the same adapters for running as are used with a Baker E4 Wireline Setting Tool.
The B Setting Tool is run into the desired setting depth and the ball is dropped to
the ball seat in the tool. (When used on Coiled Tubing the ball is ran in place).
Sufficient pressure is applied to set and pack off the packer. The pressure, or
combination of pressure and tubing tension, then shears the Shear Stud or Ring,
freeing the Setting Assembly from the packer. The Setting Tool will
automatically drain the Tubing String as it is being pulled.

P1-J VALVE
PRODUCT 10-080
The P1-J Valve is a heavy duty component which converts a right hand set/right
hand release Double Grip packer into a temporary Bridge Plug. This Bridge
Plug can be used for Zone Isolation during Fracing, Acidizing, Cementing, Zone
Testing or for casing and well head Pressure Testing. The recommended packer
for use with the P1-J Valve is the Posi-Lock.
The P1-J Valve is run in conjunction with the P1-J Retrieving Head. The heavy
duty Retrieving Head allows circulation even when latched onto the P1-J Valve.
The design of the unique, pressure balanced, positive valve operation virtually
eliminates any chance of the valve being opened accidentally. The rugged valve
may be opened or closed to unset or reset the Double Grip Packer numerous
times.
OPERATION
The P1-J Valve in conjunction with a Double Grip packer is run to the desired
setting depth. The packer is set as per normal setting procedures. Release the
Retrieving Head by adding compression then picking up on the tubing holding
left hand torque. The Equalizing Valve will automatically close as the
Retrieving Head is disengaged.
To retrieve the Bridge Plug the P1-J Retrieving Head is lowered down to the
packer (circulation may be required to clear any debris). The Retrieving Head
will automatically relatch onto the P1-J Valve and open the Equalizing Valve,
equalizing differential pressure. Unset the Packer as per normal unsetting
procedures.

OMEGAMATIC RETIEVABLE PACKER
PRODUCT 10-348
The Omegamatic Packer is a high performance, deep well, compression set
Retrievable Packer, used primarily for Squeeze Cementing, Acid Stimulations,
Hydraulic Fracturing and well testing operations.
This packer uses an integral pressure actuated hydraulic hold down Button Slip
System to securely hold the packer in place during high pressure service
operations. The actuating pressure for the hold down Slip System is taken from
below the elements, and not directly from the tubing. This prevents any solids
or cement from entering the hold down Slip System.
The Omegamatic Packer also features an integral Bypass System for equalizing
differential pressure across the packer when releasing. This large Bypass is
designed to protect the Hydraulic Slips when running in, as well as permitting
easier circulation.
This packer may be run as either Left Hand Set or Right Hand Set. A
Retrievable Bridge Plug may be run in tandem with the Omegamatic Packer, if
required.
OPERATION
To set the Omegamatic Packer, run in to the desired depth and rotate the tubing
approximately 2/3 of a turn (at the packer) to release the Slip Assembly. The
required amount of tubing weight is then slacked off onto the packer to close the
Bypass and pack off the elements.
NOTE: The amount of set down weight required will depend on the packer
size and the expected well conditions.
To release the packer, simply pick up on the tubing to open the Bypass and
equalize the pressure across the packer. This will allow the Hydraulic Slips to
retract. If necessary to move the Omegamatic down the hole, the tubing is
rotated 2/3 of a turn (at the packer) in the opposite direction turned when setting.
This will lock the Slip Assembly into the running position.
NOTE: The Omegamatic Packer incorporates a pressure Piston Assembly.
If doing calculations for this packer, this Piston Assembly MUST be
taken into account. Refer to the Technical Manual for more detail.

SST
PRODUCT 10-135
The Stage Stimulation Tool is a cup type selective tool specially designed to
isolate and selectively acidize pre-determined intervals of perforation. Specially
designed Cups, a Retrievable Blanking Bar and a large built in Annular By-Pass
make the SST easy to run and retrieve.
Drag Blocks with Inconel Springs provide drag for positive opening and closing
of the By-Pass Valve. This tool uses heavy duty Casing Packer Cups with an
additional Back-Up Cup to assure positive sealing.
An H or D Fluid Control Valve can be used with the SST Tool for controlling
fluid levels in low fluid level wells.
A special Spacer Assembly is available on request, which adds a third Packer
Cup onto each end approximately .5m behind the regular cups. This assembly is
useful in applications where acid breaking back out of perforations is a problem.
Accessory equipment available for use with the SST are the 10-134 D Fluid
Control Valve, 10-336 H Fluid Control Valve, 10-100 By-Pass Valve, 20-237
SR-2 Packer, 10-111 Collar Locator and the 10-052 Drag Assembly.
OPERATION
From top to bottom the tool assembly is usually made up with the By-Pass
Valve, Fluid Control Valve, SR-2 Packer and Selective Stimulation Tool. This
assembly is run into the well with the By-Pass Valve open and positioned above
or below the perforations in blank casing. The By-Pass Valve is closed and the
SST and Tubing are pressure tested. The pressure is bled off and the SST is
positioned across the first interval to be acidized. If required, a feed rate can be
taken at this time and the Fluid Control Valve could be dropped down the
tubing.
The By-Pass Valve is now opened and acid is circulated to bottom. After the
acid has been circulated down, the By-Pass Valve is closed and the required
amount of acid is squeezed into the interval.
After acidizing is completed the By-Pass Valve is opened. The tools can be
pulled from the well or positioned above the perforations and the spent acid
swabbed back before pulling. If the SR-2 Packer was run with the SST it is set
and the By-Pass Valve is closed before swabbing, so it is not necessary to swab
the annulus volume.

CF UNLOADER
PRODUCT 10-023
The full bore CF Unloader allows equalization of tubing and annulus pressures when run
in conjunction with the R-104 Packer. It is always recommended that this Unloader be
used when running the R-104. Downward force opens the Unloader.
R-104 PACKER
PRODUCT 10-042
The R-104 is a full bore Tension Packer designed specifically for Squeeze Cementing,
Acidizing, Testing or Fracturing operations. The use of this packer is especially desirable
under conditions where the pressure differential is from below and the use of a
Compression Packer is prohibited. The opposing slips enable the R-104 to remain
packed off during pressure reversals.
This Packer uses a dependable three element system to reliably hold high pressures at
high temperatures. A simple adjustment can convert the R-104 to left hand or right hand
set. Normally the CF Unloader (Product 10-023) is run in conjunction with the R-104
Packer to allow equalization of tubing and annulus pressures.
Considered the best tension set service packer available it is well suited for repeated and
continuous use under the harshest of conditions.
OPERATION
To set the R-104 run to desired depth and rotate tubing approximately one turn to release
the slip assembly. Weight may be slacked off onto the packer at this time. Circulation is
still possible as the CF Unloader is open in this position. Tension is pulled into the
tubing to pack off the elements and close the CF Unloader. The amount of upstrain
depends on the packer size and the well conditions.
The R-104 will remain packed off as long as the tension force is maintained. To
reestablish circulation or equalize the pressure between the tubing and the annulus,
simply slack off tubing weight onto the packer. This will open the Unloader, equalizing
the pressure between the annulus and the tubing.
Releasing the R-104 involves lowering the tubing to the neutral point and rotating
approximately one turn (opposite to the setting direction). This will lock the Slip
Assembly in the running position. The packer may now be pulled or moved to a new
location and reset.
A safety release mechanism designed into the R-104 may be used if the packer cannot be
released normally. To use the Safety Release pull a small amount of tension into the
tubing and rotate approximately 10 turns to the right. This will equalize the pressure
between the annulus and the tubing, forcing the cones away from the slips and causing
the packing elements to relax.
NOTE: The packer may not be reset after the Safety Release has been activated.

M FLUID CONTROL VALVE
PRODUCT 10-308
The M Mechanical Fluid Control Valve is a tubing actuated valve used to
provide surface control of fluid injected into the perforations during selective
acidizing operations on low fluid level wells. When used in conjunction with a
B-52 Straddle Packer Assembly it provides a simple, reliable method of holding
the tubing full of fluid ensuring accurate control over the quantity of fluid
injected at each setting of the Straddle Packer Assembly.
OPERATION
The Valve is installed in the tubing string immediately above the Straddle
Packer Assembly, and below the Circulating Valve.
Once the Straddle Packer has been un-jayed and is ready for setting the Fluid
Control Valve will automatically open whenever tubing weight is slacked off
onto the Straddle Packer.
When tubing weight is removed to move the Straddle Packer Assembly to the
next setting the valve automatically closes.

D FLUID CONTROL VALVE
PRODUCT 10-134
The D Fluid Control Valve is a pressure actuated valve used to provide surface
control over fluid injected into wells with low reservoir pressures by supporting
the hydrostatic head in the tubing. The valve may be run in place in the tubing,
on wireline, or can be dropped from the surface. The Fluid Control Valve
Landing Nipple (Product 10-038) must be run as part of the tubing string.
This valve is usually used in conjunction with the SST or Straddle Packers to
provide control of fluid volumes pumped with each setting when selectively
acidizing low fluid level wells.
The D Fluid Control Valve operates using Differential Pressures and is not
dependent on well depth. This type of valve is much better suited to deep wells
than is a hydrostatically operated Fluid Control Valve.
The D Fluid Control Valve utilizes specially designed chemical and wear
resistant seals to ensure problem free operation. An extended filter tube is run
on this valve to ensure debris cannot get into the valve during pumping
operations.
The valve may be dropped from surface, or run and pulled on wireline.

DRAG ASSEMBLY
PRODUCT 10-052
The Drag Assembly is designed with Drag Blocks and Inconel Springs. It is
commonly run with Selective Acidizing equipment to anchor the bottom hole
assembly, thus enabling torque transmission to rotational valves.
The centralizing effect of the Drag Assembly increases tool life, especially in
Cup Type Acid Tools.
COLLAR LOCATOR
PRODUCT 10-111
The Mechanical Casing Collar Locator provides a simple and reliable method of
locating Casing Collars with the Tubing String to correlate the tubing depth to
the logged depth. This tool is commonly run with Selective Acidizing Tool
assemblies to locate the perforation depth.
OPERATION
The Collar Locator is installed as an integral part of the Tubing String. To
operate properly it must be installed above any Drag Block Assemblies or tools
using Drag Blocks or Springs. The Collar Locator is designed to indicate the
collars when moving the tubing up. Spring loaded pads on the Locator expand
into the recess of the Casing Coupling. The additional force required to collapse
the pads again in order to pass through the coupling, is indicated at surface.
The tubing may be rotated freely through the Collar Locator without having to
rotate the pads in the casing.

CW BRIDGE PLUG
PRODUCT 10-249
The CW Bridge Plug combines the advantages of wireline setting with easy and
reliable retrievability.
The CW’s double acting slips securely anchor the Bridge Plug against pressure
differentials from above or below. The three element pack off design ensures
reliable sealing at high pressures and temperatures.
The unique equalizing valve design allows any pressure differential to be
equalized before the Retrieving Head is latched onto the plug. This feature is
especially advantageous when retrieving the CW on endless tubing.
The many advantages of this Bridge Plug include compact design - accurate
setting depth - differential pressure rating of 10,000 PSI and a straight on and
straight pull to release.
OPERATION
The CW Bridge Plug is connected to the Wireline (or Hydraulic) Setting Tool,
run to required setting depth and set.
The CW Retrieving Tool (Product 10-281) is used to retrieve the Bridge Plug.

TI PACKER
PRODUCT 20-304
The TI Retrievable Tension Shear Packer is a compact, economical, rugged packer for
use in shallow production or injection installations. It is ideally suited for applications
where pressure differential from below is expected.
This packer features an adjustable shear type Safety Release System which may be used
to release the packer. The Shear Release System is located below the packing element
with standard factory set shears.
The shear value of (2,000 lbs.) 2265 daN per pin are easily removed or added to a
maximum of 6 (12,000 lbs.) 22,650 daN.
The TI Packer may be converted to a non-shear type packer by simply adding a spacer
sleeve on the lower mandrel between the shear ring and the bottom coupling.
This packer is a single grip tension packer and consideration must be taken regarding
differential pressure to keep the packer operational.
OPERATION
The TI Packer is run to the setting depth, and the appropriate amount of tension is applied
to set the packer.
To release the packer simply apply more tubing tension than the amount of shears
installed in the packer, or lower tubing to re-jay the packer. If there is any annulus
hydrostatic differential the packer may not release in this manner.

CS PACKER
PRODUCT 20-307
The CS Retrievable Packer is a compact, rugged, economical, single grip
compression packer, ideally suited for applications where a pressure differential
from the annulus side is expected. The CS Packer utilizes many of the
components of the field proven T Packer.
OPERATION
The CS Packer is run to setting depth, making the last movement of the tubing
string upward. Left hand torque is applied to the tubing and the required amount
of set down weight is applied to the packer.
To release the packer, simply pick up on the tubing. The packer will
automatically lock in the running position for retrieving or re-setting.

POSI-LOCK
PACKER
POSI-LOCK
PACKER
PRODUCT 20-433
The Posi-Lock Packer is a field proven versatile, high performance, double grip
Retrievable Packer capable of handling up to 80 MPa pressure from either above
or below. Whatever your application, Production, Injection, high pressure
Fracturing, Acidizing, Testing, etc. this packer will handle the job reliably and
economically.
The packer design features slips directly above and below the Element, which
allows differential forces to be transferred directly onto the low pressure side
Slips. The Slip System on the Posi-Lock is designed to distribute the packer to
o
casing forces as evenly as possible over the total 360 of the casing I.D. The
unique Slip Releasing System of the Posi-Lock allows the slips to be released
easily and smoothly, even after severe loads have been placed upon the slips.
Shear Release can be easily adjusted on location.
Options available on the Posi-Lock are H2S trim if required - specialty steel and
special Element and/or Seal Elastomers.
OPERATION
To set the Posi-Lock Packer preset the simple Safety Shear System on surface
and run to desired setting depth. With last movement up, right hand torque is
applied and the tubing is lowered until the Lower Slips have engaged with
compression. Release torque and slack off required weight necessary to set
packer. Tubing may now be landed as required.
With compression on the packer apply right hand torque to release the PosiLock. Pick up the tubing which will open the fluid Bypass, equalizing the
pressure across the packer. Continue upward movement until the elements relax
and the Posi-Lock locks into the run position.
An alternative method of releasing the packer is a straight upward pull to a
predetermined shear value.

ON-OFF SEAL UNIT
PRODUCT 20-006
The On-Off Seal Unit is a short, compact, overshot type receptacle with a Jay,
which engages automatically and releases with a one quarter turn left hand
rotation.
When mounted above a locking type packer, this tool provides a means of
disconnecting the Tubing String in order that remedial work can be performed
without unseating the packer. A profile in the Seal Mandrel provides a means of
blanking off the zone below the packer with a Wireline Retrievable Plug. After
remedial work has been completed, the tubing may be re-engaged at the On-Off
Seal Unit and the Tubing Plug pulled by wireline to place the well on
production.
A Washover Shoe on the Overshot allows rotation through sand and other
debris. Easy re-engagement of the tool and packer removal are enhanced by the
short mandrel length, which allows for maximum washing action. The plug
profile located in the upper part of the mandrel allows for circulation of debris
off of the plug.
The On-Off Seal Unit is available with right hand release for special
applications -all common wireline profiles - and a molded seal to allow for
multiple disconnections without seal damage.
OPERATION
The On-Off must be in a fully compressed position to disconnect. Applying left
hand torque to the tubing moves the tubing upward. To reconnect set down on
the tool and the On-Off will automatically relatch.

TUBING TESTER
PRODUCT 20-015
The Tubing Tester Sub is designed to allow testing of the tubing string before
beginning high pressure treatments, or before setting a Completion Packer.
It may be placed anywhere in the string and is treated like an ordinary Tubing
Coupling or Cross Over Sub. When at depth, a Phenolic Ball is pumped down
to the Tubing Tester and the tubing pressured up to the required test pressure.
After testing the ball is reverse circulated out of the tubing and operations
carried on as usual.
The Tubing Tester is available for all common tubing sizes.
PUMP OUT PLUG
PRODUCT 20-053
The Pump Out Plug may be used as a temporary plug to facilitate setting of
hydraulic packers. The plug may be manufactured solid or with a hole and ball
seat. A ball is dropped into a seat in the Pump Out Plug, and pressure applied
on the tubing to set the packers and shear out the seat.
This Pump Out Plug is available in all common tubing sizes and threads, with
either a Half Mule Re-Entry Guide down or with a pin down.

C EXPANSION JOINT
PRODUCT 20-012
The C Expansion Joint is placed in the Tubing String to allow for pipe
contraction or expansion, due to the effects of temperature or pressure. This
Expansion Joint is keyed throughout the length of its stroke to allow the
transmission of torque through the joint. Expansion Joints come standard with a
3.0m stroke and may be shear pinned throughout their full stroke at one foot
intervals.
Both the C and E Expansion Joints are available with several different V-Seal
materials to suit almost any application. Manufactured from low alloy steel, in
accordance with NACE specification MR-01-75 for H2S service, these
Expansion Joints are also available in other materials.
A.P.I. tubing connections are standard on the C and E Expansion Joints, but all
common tubing connections are available if ordered in advance.
E EXPANSION JOINT
PRODUCT 20-180
The E Expansion Joint is a swivel joint type Expansion Joint which will turn
freely until fully extended or compressed.
The E and C Expansion Joints are normally run in conjunction with Permanent
or Retrievable Production Packers.
Full extension or compression engages a clutch which allows torque to be
transmitted through the joint. Incorporation of a locking pin will allow the
Expansion Joint to be locked in the fully compressed position while running or
retrieving the joint.

BLAST JOINT
PRODUCT 20-004
Blast Joint is used to protect the tubing string from the abrasive action of
flowing gas or oil when positioned opposite the perforations. It may also be used
directly below the well head to protect from the abrasion of doing a hydraulic
fracturing operation down the annulus.
Blast Joint is made from high quality alloy steel to ensure maximum abrasion
resistance and strength. For H2S service the Blast Joint is available heat treated
to between 18 and 22 RC Hardness as per NACE Specification MR-01-75.
Full tubing I.D. is maintained through the Blast Joint with the O.D. the same as
tubing couplings. As standard it is available in API tubing connections. Most
tubing connections can be supplied, however, I.D./O.D. dimensions may vary
depending on the tubing connection and tubing weight.
Blast Joint is available in lengths of .6m(2 ft.), 1.2m(4 ft.), 1.8m(6 ft.),
2.4m(8ft), 3m(10ft.) and 6m(20ft.).
Ceramic or Carbide Blast Joints are available on request.

TANDEM TENSION PACKER
PRODUCT 20-022
The Tandem Tension Packer provides an efficient and economical method of
isolating multiple zones. This packer has been designed to be used as the upper
packer(s) in single string tandem hookups, where a Retrievable Tension or
Permanent Type Packer is used as the bottom packer.
The packer is available with either the high performance three element system or
a more economical single element system.
OPERATION
Once the packers are in position the bottom packer is set in the usual manner. A
4,500 daN (10,000 lbs.) upstrain will shear the screws used to prevent premature
setting of the Tandem Tension Packer(s). As soon as these screws shear, the
packing element(s) packs off and remains packed off so long as the tubing
tension is maintained.
The Tandem Tension Packer can be released by simply slacking off the tension
and rotating to the right one half turn. This rotation moves the J-Pin into a
position that prevents pack-off during retrieving operations.
TANDEM COMPRESSION PACKER
PRODUCT 20-024
The Tandem Compression Packer is similar to the Tandem Tension Packer
except that it uses tubing compression to pack-off instead of tubing tension. It is
designed to be used as an upper packer(s) in single string tandem installations
where a Retrievable Compression or Permanent Type Packer is used as the
bottom packer.
This packer is available with either the high performance three element system
or a more economical single element system.
OPERATION
Once the packers are in position, the bottom packer is set in the usual manner. A
Shear System in the Tandem Compression Packer used to prevent premature
setting will shear, packing off the element. The packer will remain packed-off
as long as the compression is maintained on the packer.
The packer is released by simply picking up on the tubing. The packer can then
be reset and retrieved.

SR-1 RETRIEVABLE PACKER
PRODUCT 20-236
The SR-1 Retrievable Packer is a versatile, full bore, double grip packer used for
stimulation and production testing operations and is especially suited for
applications in deep, high pressure wells.
This packer uses hydraulic hold down slips, operated by pressure from below
the packer to secure the packer in place when high tubing pressures are
encountered. A locking mechanism in the packer keeps the By-Pass closed
during high pressure injection operations
SR-2 RETRIEVABLE PACKER
PRODUCT 20-237
The SR-2 Retrievable Packer is used in applications where excessive bottom
hole pressures or injection pressures are not expected, and sufficient tubing
weight is available to keep the packer set. This packer is identical to the SR-1
except that it does not use the hydraulic hold down assembly.
SR-1 AND SR-2 OPERATIONS
Make the packer up onto the tubing string and run to setting depth, making sure
that the last tubing movement is upward.
Apply right hand torque to the tubing string and slack off sufficient tubing
weight onto the packer to securely set and pack it off.
Both the SR-1 and SR-2 are released by simply picking up the tubing. This
action will open the By-Pass and lock the packer in the running position for
retrieving or setting again.

HYDRO-MASTER RETRIEVABLE PACKER
PRODUCT 20-350
The Techwest Hydro-Master Retrievable Packer is an economical, single string,
fully locking, hydraulic set Retrievable Packer for use in single or multiple
packer installations with the largest I.D. available. This packer is suitable for
applications where displacing and setting after the wellhead has been installed
are desirable. The Hydro-Master is ideal for deviated holes where tubing
movement is not available. The three element Pack Off System allows pressure
to be held from above and below.
This packer comes standard with an adjustable shear release and also with a
rotational release (in addition to the shear release). It is available with a wireline
activated selective set mechanism which allows the Tubing String to be tested
prior to setting, or to allow selective setting and individual testing of any number
of Hydro-Master Packers run together.
The Hydro-Master features include no movement of Packer Mandrel during
setting - mechanically locked in Pack Off - and built in Equalizing System for
reliable releasing.
OPERATION
After running to setting depth, the Hydro-Master is set by pressuring up the
tubing against a plugging device such as a Shear Out Plug or Wireline Blanking
Plug. This will shear the adjustable Setting Shears, setting the slips and packing
off the elements. A ratchet locking mechanism locks the packer in the set
position.
The Hydro-Master is released by straight upward pull in excess of the selected
shear value which will lock the packer in the retrieving position. The rotational
release operates with right hand rotation.

TUBING DRAIN SUB
PRODUCT 20-242
The Tubing Drain Sub provides a means of draining or circulating through
tubing when pulling out of the hole where the tubing is unable to drain or be
circulated normally. This sub incorporates a pressure balanced design which
ensures the ports remain closed until the string is ready to be pulled or
circulated.
To open the drain ports a ball is pumped to the seat in the sub, and pump
pressure forces the seal sleeve into the open position. The amount of pressure
required to open the drain ports is easily adjustable.
NOTE: Once the drain ports have been opened they will remain open until
serviced on surface.

DUAL STRING CROSS-OVER
PRODUCT 20-087
The Dual String Cross-Over is used in conjunction with two packers in a dual
zone completion to cross over the upper zone production into the tubing for
pumping purposes. The lower zone then flows in the annulus.
This Dual String Cross-Over is available in most common packer mandrel sizes.
As standard, it is available with A.P.I. tubing connections.
A version of this crossover specifically designed for use with the AC and AT
Tandem Packers is available.

FLOW DIVERTER
PRODUCT 20-093
The Flow Diverter was developed to help overcome operational difficulties and
increase gas production in areas where multiple zone wells cannot be comingled. This tool may be used to lift condensate or water from wells where
these liquids inhibit the flow of gas.
The Flow Diverter allows operators the advantage of continuing to flow both
zones in a dual zone well whenever condensate or water become a problem.
Conventional methods require one zone to be shut in while these liquids are
removed from the wellbore.
This diverter may also be used in multiple string completions in gas wells where
packers are used to separate the different zones. Conventional completions
involve the use of Dual String Packers and Parallel Tubing Strings. Parallel
Tubing Strings are often difficult to install and require dual Tubing Hangers.
The Concentric String Completion method does not require expensive Dual
String Packers and Tubing Hangers.
The concentric string installation permits multiple zone completions in 114mm
and 139mm casing. Conventional parallel string completions are not viable in
these casing sizes, leaving valuable gas reserves shut in while only one zone is
produced. The Flow Diverter when used in conjunction with single string
packers, enables the operator to product multiple zones simultaneously without
co-mingling the gases.

CEMENT RETAINER
Techwest’s Cement Retainer is a rugged, compact Cement Retainer engineered
for trouble free running and setting on either tubing or wireline. The slips,
packing elements and other components are positively secured to ensure high
speed running of the retainer.
All Retainers are built to stringent material specifications under exacting quality
control standards so every Retainer provides the best combination of strength
and drillability possible.
o
The one piece element combined with full 360 metal Back Up Rings provides a
dependable seal under high pressures and temperatures. The one piece full
circle slips set securely in any casing grade.
The Cement Retainer’s pressure balanced Sleeve Valve, complete with a one
piece molded seal, is simply operated from the surface by lowering the tubing to
open and raising the tubing to close. A unique Shear System prevents the valve
from being accidentally opened at any time during running or setting. The
Tubing String may be tested before you squeeze by picking up the tubing to
close the valve and applying pressure. The simple up and down operation of the
valve allows you to hold the final squeeze pressure on the cement and/or stage
the cement when squeezing low fluid level wells.
PRODUCT 20-139 WIRELINE SET
The Wireline Cement Retainer is designed for fast running and reliable setting
with a Baker E-4 pressure Setting Assembly. This retainer uses a one piece
Upper Slip and a Shear Ring. The use of a Shear Ring instead of a Shear Stud
allows the retainer bore to be filled with grease to prevent solids from settling
inside and preventing proper operation of the valve.
The Wireline Set Cement Retainer uses a Snap Latch Seal Unit to operate. Refer
to the catalogue section on the Snap Latch Seal Unit for detailed operating
instructions.
PRODUCT 20-138 TUBING SET
The Tubing Set Cement Retainer differs from the wireline set version in that the
one piece Top Slip is replaced by a pre-segmented Top Slip and the Shear Ring
is deleted.
A Ramcharger Mechanical Setting Tool is used to run and set the Tubing Set
Cement Retainer, and to operate the valve after setting. Refer to the catalogue
section on the Ramcharger for detailed operating instructions.
NOTE: The Cement Retainer may be converted to a Wireline Set B Bridge
Plug 20-146 or a Tubing Set Bridge Plug 20-147 by removing the
bottom Valve Assembly and replacing it with a 20-146-000-01 Cap.

RAMCHARGER SETTING TOOL
PRODUCT 10-064
The Ramcharger Setting Tool is used to run and set Cement Retainers and
Bridge Plugs on tubing or drill pipe. In addition to its setting function, the
Ramcharger functions as a Snap Latch Seal Unit after setting a Cement Retainer.
When used to run a tubing set Bridge Plug, the bottom sub and seal of the
Ramcharger are replaced with a cap.
OPERATION
It is recommended that the Ramcharger, Retainer/Bridge Plug assembly be run
into the well at a moderate speed, as care must be taken to prevent right hand
rotation from being transmitted to the Setting Tool. As a precaution, it is also
recommended that the tubing be rotated to the left (counter clockwise) every 10
stands, until positive resistance is felt. This will ensure that accidental right
hand rotation does not build up and cause the tool to set.
At setting depth, rotate the tubing to the right approximately 10 turns. This
action frees the top slips, allowing them to expand against the casing wall.
Tension is now pulled into the tubing to act against the slips.
Pull the amount of tension, over string weight, as indicated on the Ramcharger
technical chart. This will firmly set the top slips, pack off the retainer and cause
the bottom slips to set. Slack off an equivalent amount of weight, if available,
onto the retainer and pull the required amount of tension into the retainer again.
This will ensure the Retainer/Bridge Plug is securely and fully set.
If running a retainer only the tubing may be pressure tested while holding
tension for the final time. This will also test the retainer’s valve for proper
closure.
To release the Ramcharger Setting Tool from the retainer, pick up to close the
valve, and while holding slight tension apply 300 to 400 ft/lb of right hand
torque to the tubing. This will shear the rotational lock screws and allow the
latch to be disengaged from the retainer with 8 to 10 right hand turns. An
alternate method is to rotate 4 to 5 turns to the right and pick up, approximately
4,500 daN (10,000 lbs.) over tubing weight which allows the Snap Latch to snap
out of the retainer.
After releasing from the retainer, the Setting Tool can be re-latched into the
retainer with set down weight and removed with tension (approximately 4,500
daN - 10,000 lbs.). The Stinger Seal will remain in the Retainer Seal Bore as
long as the snap out force is not exceeded. It should be expected that the snap in
and snap out forces will decrease after repeated usage with the condition
stabilizing at about 2,200 daN (5,000 lbs.) snap out force.

SNAP LATCH SEAL UNIT
PRODUCT 10-065
The Snap Latch Seal Unit is designed for use with the Wireline Set D Cement Retainer.
It provides positive control of the Cement Retainer Valve, while effectively anchoring
and sealing the tubing in the retainer.
The top sub of the Snap Latch Seal Unit acts as a centralizer to ensure the Snap Latch
will locate into the retainer bore - even in deviated wells.
This Snap Latch Seal Unit normally comes with API EUE Box connections, and other
connections are available on request.
OPERATION
When the Snap Latch Seal Unit enters the retainer, the bottom Shifter Sub pushes the
Retainer Valve open. At the same time the Snap Latch Collet collapses into and engages
the latch threads in the top of the retainer, thereby anchoring the tubing to the retainer.
The Snap Latch Collet on the Seal Unit is free to move up or down 76mm (3”) on the
mandrel, allowing the Retainer Valve to be opened or closed while the Snap Latch Seal
Unit is still locked and sealed into the retainer. This feature also allows for pressure
testing the tubing string before squeezing. Picking up will close the valve and moving
down opens it.
To release the Seal Unit from the retainer it is necessary to pull approximately 4,500 daN
(10,000 lbs.) over string weight. The force required to do this will decrease after repeated
usage until it stabilizes at approximately 2,000 daN (5,000 lbs.) force over string weight.

J-TYPE SNAP LATCH SEAL UNIT
PRODUCT 10-067
The J-Type Mechanical Snap Latch Seal Unit is designed to be used with the D
Cement Retainer.
The top sub of the Seal Unit acts as a centralizer to ensure the Snap Latch will
locate into the retainer bore, even in deviated wells.
OPERATION
When the Snap Latch Unit enters the retainer the bottom Actuating Mandrel
pushes the retainer valve open, and at the same time the Snap Latch Collet
collapses into and engages the latch threads in the top of the retainer. The Seal
Unit is free to move up and down in the collet, closing and opening the valve. If
the tubing is rotated 1/2 turn to the left and picked up, a shoulder on the mandrel
locks the collet and anchors the latch in the retainer.
In this position the Seal Unit is still engaged in the retainer bore, and the retainer
valve is closed, allowing the tubing string to be pressure tested before squeezing
and eliminating the danger of the snap latch releasing.
To release the J Type Mechanical Snap Latch Seal Unit from the retainer it is
necessary to release tubing tension and rotate 1/2 turn to the right before picking
up, approximately 4,500 daN (10,000 lbs.) over string weight. The force
required to do this will decrease after repeated usage, until it stabilizes at
approximately 2,200 daN (5,000 lbs.) force over string weight.

The Retrieve-Master Packer combines the features of a Wireline Set Packer with
the versatility of a Retrievable Packer and is mainly used in production and
testing applications.
The packer may be used as a temporary Bridge Plug when run with a Nok-Out
Assembly, and then converted for production or testing. The dependable three
element Pack-Off System ensures reliable sealing, while the stream lined design
allows for fast running.
The same accessories available for the Wireline Set Packer can be used with the
Retrieve-Master and include Latch or Locator Seal Assembly, Seal Bore
Extensions, Tubing Adapter, Expendable Plugs, On-Off Seal Units and
Expansion Joints.
OPERATION
To run the Retrieve-Master, connect to a Wireline Setting Tool and set in the
same manner as a Permanent Wireline Set Packer. A Hydraulic Setting Tool
may also be used to run and set this packer on tubing.
To retrieve the Retrieve-Master, use the Retrieve-Master Retrieving Tool
(Product 10-368) on tubing. The Retrieving Tool is lowered onto the packer and
automatically latches into the outside releasing sleeve. An upward pull will
equalize and release the packer.
If required the Retrieving Tool can be disconnected from the packer by simply
rotating to the right. The Retrieving Tool can then be pulled or reconnected to
the packer by lowering the tubing again.

L PERMANENT PACKER
PRODUCT 20-176
The L Permanent Packer combines the proven features of the S Packer with a
versatile large Seal Bore. This packer is suitable for applications where
differential pressures may reach 10,000 PSI.
The L Packer is designed to be run and set on wireline using a Baker E-4 Setting
Assembly, however, it can also be run and set hydraulically on tubing using a B
Setting Tool. The threaded bottom of the L Packer allows direct connection of
Tubing Adapters, expendable Plugs, Millout Subs etc.
o
When set, metal Back Up Rings provide solid 360 contact with the casing to
prevent extrusion of the element at high temperatures or pressures. One piece
slips combined with locked construction eliminate any danger of premature
setting when running.
The L Packer also has the additional unique versatility of being easily converted
to a LO or LB Packer when required.
This packer is suitable for standard H2S service and is offered in several optional
material configurations when ordered in advance. It can be adapted to meet
virtually any existing well environment.
OPERATION
The Model L can be run and set on wireline using a Baker E-4 Setting
Assembly. It can also be run and set on tubing or coiled tubing use the B
Hydraulic Setting Tool (Product 10-271) and L Setting Adapter (Product 10073).
The Model L may be removed by milling over and then retrieving.

S PERMANENT PACKER
PRODUCT 20-487
The S Permanent Packer is one of the most reliable and versatile high
performance permanent packers available. Most sizes of this packer are suitable
for applications where the differential pressures may reach 15,000 PSI
dependent upon packer size.
The S Packer is designed to be run and set on wireline using an E-4 Setting
Assembly, however, it may also be run and set hydraulically on tubing using a B
Setting Tool.
The bottom guide ring on this packer may be removed easily to allow direct
connection of Tubing Adapters, Expendable Plugs, Mill-Out Subs etc.
The S Packers are designed for fast running and superior reliability during and
after setting. Metal back up rings provide solid 360 contact with the casing to
prevent extrusion of the element at high temperatures and pressures. One piece
slips virtually eliminate any danger of premature setting when used on wireline
or tubing.
O
The S Packer is made of materials in accordance with NACE specification
MR01-75 for H2S service and can be supplied for service in virtually any
existing well environment.
Several elastomer options on the S Packer can meet virtually any temperature or

A MILL-OUT SUB
PRODUCT 20-056
The A Mill-Out Sub is run below permanent Seal Bore Packers to allow
sufficient inside diameter to accommodate the mandrel and catch of most
common packer milling tools.
Standard length is 1.8m (6 ft.). Some packer models may require a mill-out
adapter to attach the mill-out sub to the packer.
The A Mill-Out Sub is manufactured from alloy steel and heat treated to a
hardness of 18-22 HRC. Other materials are available upon advance order.
A SEAL BORE EXTENSION
PRODUCT 20-055
The A Seal Bore Extension is used to provide an additional sealing bore when a
long seal assembly is run to accommodate tubing movement and has the same
honed I.D. as the packer.
The Seal Bore Extension will attach directly to an A Mill-Out Sub. If no MillOut Sub is used, a packer to seal bore adapter may be required.
A Seal Bore Extensions are available in 10 ft. length as standard, with longer or
shorter lengths available when ordered in advance. Two or more Seal Bore
Extensions may be coupled together using a Seal Bore Extension Coupling.
Seal Bore Extensions are made from alloy steel and heat treated to a hardness of
19-22 HRD. Other materials are available when ordered in advance.
TUBING ADAPTERS
Several different types of tubing adapters are available for Seal Bore Packer
system components, along with most common API and Premium tubing
connections.

LC NOK-OUT
PRODUCT 20-049
The LC Nok-Out Assembly is often run with the Model C and L Packers and
then converted to a temporary Bridge Plug. The Nok-Out is usually expended
when the Seal Assembly is landed, or can be knocked out at any time before
running the Seal Assembly with a knock out string or a wireline sinker bar. The
Nok-Out Assembly has a built in equalizing system to ensure ease of expending
the plug.

HM BRIDGE PLUG
PRODUCT 20-505
The HM Bridge Plug is a tubing run hydraulic set permanent Bridge Plug which
combines pressure and tubing tension to set. After setting a full tubing I.D. is
available, making it possible to safely circulate cement onto the plug.
If required the HM Plug and Setting Adapter may be run in tandem with other
products such as a packer for testing the plug after setting.
The HM Bridge Plug is available in two ratings, the economical HM-5 rated for
o
o
34.5MPa (5,000 PSI) and 94 C (200 F), or the high performance HM-10 rated
o
o
for 69MPa at 177 C (350 F). Both the HM-5 and HM10 use an HM Tubing
Setting Adapter to run.
OPERATION
Screw the Bridge Plug onto the bottom of the HM Setting Tool, snugging the
plug onto the Setting Tool. Screw the Adjusting Sleeve down onto the plug and
tighten by hand. If running the ball in place, install it at this time.
Make up the Setting Tool/Plug Assembly onto the tubing, tightening on with
only a pipe wrench.
Run into the well at a uniform rate, avoiding right hand rotation on the tubing.
After reaching setting depth drop the ball if it was not run in place.
Apply and maintain 10MPa (1,500 PSI) and hold for 2 minutes. Release the
pressure and pull the required force into the plug.
Slack off to a point where there is approximately 400 daN (900 lbs.) tension still
pulled into the plug, and rotate the tubing 7 to 8 turns to the right.

HY-MECH SETTING TOOL
PRODUCT 10-066
The Hy-Mech Setting Tool is used to run and set Cement Retainers on tubing.
OPERATION
The Hy-Mech Setting Tool is installed on the Cement Retainer by screwing it
onto the top of the retainer with a left hand thread, approximately six turns.
When the thread bottoms out, it is backed off until the shear screw holes in the
setting tool and retainer line up, and brass shear screws are installed. The ball
may be inserted into the top of the tool before it is made up to the tubing if
desired.
The Hy-Mech Setting Tool/Cement Retainer assembly should be run into the
well at a moderate speed. The integral by-pass ports will allow the tubing to fill
if there is fluid in the well.
When setting depth is reached, a steel ball is dropped if it was not run in place.
After the ball seats, the tubing is pressured to achieve 10MPa (1500 PSI)
differential at the setting tool. This produces sufficient force to break the shear
screws and set the top slips. The pressure should be held for two minutes. While
maintaining pressure, the required tension is applied to completely set the
retainer. The tension is slacked off and reapplied.

SEAL ASSEMBLY COMPONENTS
Techwest Seal Assemblies are designed to provide a dependable, leak proof seal between a Techwest Seal Bore Packer and the
production string. The Seal Assemblies feature the field proven Chevron seal design in an opposed seal configuration using metal
spacer rings.
The Latch Locator Sub is used where it is desirable to latch the Seal Assembly in the packer bore. For example, it is used in cases
where upward tubing movement from temperatures or pressure etc., do NOT present a problem.
The Locator Sub is used where it is desirable to allow the seals to move up and down within the packer bore. For example, it is
used in cases where upward tubing movement from temperature change and/or pressure change can cause the tubing to contract.
All type of Seal Assemblies are easily converted from one type to another with interchangeable components. Spacer seal units,
spacer tubes etc. can be easily added to or deleted from a seal assembly for maximum versatility.
SEAL ASSEMBLY MATERIALS
Techwest seal assembly components are manufactured from alloy steel meeting N.A.C.E. specification MR-01-75 for H2S
Service. When ordered in advance seal assemblies can be supplied in the following materials:

C-1 ANCHOR CATCHER
PRODUCT 20-033
The C-1 Anchor Catcher is a Retrievable Double Grip Tubing Anchor designed
to anchor the Tubing String in tension or compression. When installed with the
proper amount of tubing tension, this anchor prevents movement of the Tubing
String during rod pumping operations. This results in more oil production per
pump stroke and in turn extends the life of the Pump, Rods and Tubing and
decreases pumping costs.
This Anchor Catcher incorporates an emergency shear release system which is
easily adjustable in the field. Unless otherwise specified, anchors are furnished
with a total of 22,000 daN (50,000 lbs.) secondary release shears.
The C-1 Anchor utilizes drag pads backed up by Inconel Leaf Springs which
results in more positive drag, thus reducing repair costs by at least 50% of the
cost for repairing older drag spring designs.
OPERATION
Install the Anchor Catcher in the Tubing String just below or above the pump
for best results, although it may be installed at any point. Run to desired depth
and rotate the tubing to the left to set the Anchor Catcher. The number of turns
required will depend on the casing weight. When the slips have set the tubing
will torque up.
To ensure the Anchor Slips are solidly engaged with the casing, hold left hand
torque on the tubing and set down 4,500 - 6,500 daN (10,000 - 14,500 lbs.) of
tubing weight. Pick up and set down several times to be sure the Anchor Slips
are properly set in the casing. Pick up to install the Dognut and land the tubing,
making sure the tubing is in sufficient tension when landed.
To pull the C-1 Anchor Catcher, lower the tubing to release the tension and
rotate to the right while working the tubing up and down slightly. When pulling
care should be taken to ensure the tubing is not rotated with left hand torque or it
may cause the anchor to reset.
Should the Anchor Catcher fail to release with normal procedures, an upward
pull of the tubing string weight, plus the total value of the Shear Pins will release
the anchor.

R ANCHOR CATCHER
PRODUCT 20-036
The R Anchor Catcher is an elaboration on the design of the C-1 Anchor
Catcher, in that instead of anchoring the tubing vertically, it anchors the tubing
in all directions, including rotationally. It will also prevent parted tubing from
falling.
The R Anchor is the only anchor to allow any torsion force that may be
encountered to be transmitted through the cones and slips of the anchor and
ultimately to the casing rather than through the Shear Screws. This prevents
these forces from prematurely shear releasing the anchor, as would be the case
with conventional Tubing Anchors.
This anchor utilizes an emergency release system which is easily field adjustable
and is furnished with a total of 22,000 daN (50,000 lbs) secondary release shears
unless otherwise specified.
If used in conjunction with Progressive Cavity Pumps the R Anchor may be run
with an S.L. On-Off Tool, which eliminates the need to pull the pump body to
retrieve the tubing and rods. It also allows testing of the pump or tubing, in the
event a leak has occurred. This can also prevent swelling of the elastomer in the
stator, caused by a pressure drop and resulting in costly repairs.
OPERATION
Setting procedures for the R Anchor Catcher are identical to those of the C-1
Anchor, except that the tubing is rotated to the right to set as opposed to left
hand rotation for the C-1.
The anchor is released by rotating the tubing to the left (opposite direction from
setting). Alternately the R Anchor may be released by an upward pull in excess
of the preset Shear Value.

DUAL STRING ANCHOR
PRODUCT 20-083
The Dual String Anchor provides an effective and economical method of
anchoring the short string in a dual completion, which allows the short string to
be rod pumped efficiently.
With this system the short tubing string is anchored to the primary tubing string,
which in turn uses the packer as the anchor. The Dual String Anchor will also
support the short string in the case of a part, thereby preventing it from falling
onto the packer.
The Dual String Anchor is suitable for H2S environments.
OPERATION
The main body of the Dual String Anchor is installed in the proper point of the
primary tubing string. After the packer has been set and the primary tubing
string landed, the Latch Sub is made up on the bottom of the short string and run
in.
The sub will automatically locate and latch into the Dual String Anchor and can
be released with 1/3 of a turn to the right at the anchor.

T ROTATING SUB
PRODUCT 20-124
The T Rotating Sub is primarily used in pumping wells which require periodic
rotation of the tubing string to prevent extensive wear from sucker rod
movement. Rotation of the tubing string can prolong tubing life and reduce
expensive workovers. It is also used where a rotational By-Pass Valve is
incorporated as part of a completion string. The string can be rotated to open the
tubing to the annulus then rotated again to close the valve.
The T Rotating Sub is designed to allow tubing to be supported at the dognut but
still allow easy rotation of the tubing string.
Designed to the shortest serviceable length, this unique rotating sub can be
installed on existing wellheads with minimum change required to the lengths
involved.
NOTE: This assembly cannot be used alone with a downhole anchor or anchor
catcher. If an anchor or anchor catcher is required, a 20-129 Downhole Clutch
must be used with the T Rotating Sub.
4-6
DOWNHOLE CLUTCH
PRODUCT 20-129
The Downhole Tubing Clutch was designed for the purpose of utilizing a
Tubing Anchor while operating a Tubing Rotator.
It is primarily used in deviated wells, where a Tubing Anchor is required to
straighten out the tubing string, thus avoiding excessive wear caused by the
sucker rods.
OPERATION
After setting the Tubing Anchor, the Tubing Clutch is pulled into tension in
order to shear the shear pins, thus allowing the upper half of the Clutch and
tubing string to move up. This disengages the Clutch and allows the Tubing
Rotator to turn the tubing while leaving the tubing in tension.
To release the Tubing Anchor simply lower the tubing string, re-engage the
Downhole Clutch and release the Tubing Anchor as normal.
4-7
DOWNHOLE SWIVEL
PRODUCT 20-027
The Downhole Tubing Swivel was designed for used in deviated well conditions
when a downhole tool such as a Tubing Anchor or Packer is to be installed.
The Tubing Swivel is normally installed between the tubing bottom and the tool,
thus allowing the tubing tail pipe to remain stationary while the tubing above the
swivel turns freely. This allows for ease in setting the Tubing Anchor or Packer.
Another application for this swivel is in horizontal re-entry wells where it is
desirable to install tail pipe in the bend section.
In this situation the Tubing Swivel is installed below the desired tool. This
allows the tool and the tubing above the swivel to be freely manipulated, without
the hole drag caused by the tubing extending into the bend section.

TL SLIDING SLEEVE
PRODUCT 30-067
The TL Sliding Sleeve is a downhole device normally screwed in the production
tubing that allows communication between the tubing and the casing.
It is used to selectively produce zones in a multi-zone completion, stimulate and
test zones; displace tubing or casing once the wellhead is installed, kill the well
by circulation and allows for the circulation of treatment chemicals or agents.
The closing sleeve has bonded lower seals to ensure maximum sealing integrity
for extended periods of time downhole. The upper sub has a TF Nipple profile
machined into it. In addition to allowing for the proper shifting of the sleeve, it
provides a profile to locate and lock into place various flow control devices
which may be required from time to time.
OPERATION
The TL Sliding Sleeve is shifted open and closed with the TD-2 Shifting Tool.
Upward jarring opens the sleeve and downward jarring closes it. The TL Sleeve
is designed so that normal wireline operations will not open or close it
inadvertently.

WIRELINE PLUGS
TPX PLUG - PRODUCT 30-093
The TPX Plug is a positive blank off tool designed to be run into the TX Nipple,
or into the profile in the upper sub of the TXA Sliding Sleeve. It holds pressure
from both above and below.
TPXN PLUG - PRODUCT 30-094
The TPXN Plug is a positive blank off tool designed to be run into the TXN
Bottom No-Go Nipple. It holds pressure from both above and below.
OPERATION
Two wireline trips are required to set the TPX and TPXN Plugs.
The first trip involves locking the plug body into the nipple. Since the by-pass
ports are exposed during this operation, the plug body remains in an equalized
state. Once the plug body is properly installed in the nipple, the prong is run
into the plug body. This blanks off the ports.
To pull the plug the prong must first be pulled to allow equalization to occur.
Once equalized, the plug body is retrieved from the nipple.

CW BRIDGE PLUG
PRODUCT 10-249
The CW Bridge Plug combines the advantages of wireline setting with easy and
reliable retrievability.

RETRIEVE-MASTER PACKER
PRODUCT 20-368

High strength Alloy Steel:
For high pressure applications
Not suitable for H2S exposure as hardness exceed R.C. 22
9Cr 1Mo Alloy Steel:
Used in containing high percentages of H2S and CO2

DEBRIS BARRIER SEAL STACK - Similar to the standard seal stack except that Molyglass V Seals are used instead of Nitrile V Seals. This
stack is often used as the top two or three stacks on a long KMR Seal Assembly to prevent debris from entering the packer bore. It may also be
used as a primary seal stack in environments containing high percentages of oxygen.
PREMIUM A SEAL STACK - Composed of Viton Chevron Seals backed up by Molyglass Chevron Seals. Recommended for use in sour or
o
hostile environments at temperatures up to 200 C (400 F).
