Planinska kultura Mountaineering and climbing culture Planinska založba Z začetki obiskovanj in raziskovanj gora so nastajali tudi prvi zapisi o doživljajih in lepotah gora, ki pomenijo začetke planinske literature. Dandanes PZS okviru Planinske založbe izdaja planinske zemljevide, planinske in plezalne vodnike, ki pokrivajo ves gorski svet Slovenije, strokovno in leposlovno literaturo ter druge edicije. Planinski vestnik je najstarejša slovenska revija, ki izhaja od leta 1895. V svoji zgodovini pa ni bil le glasilo slovenskega gorništva temveč tudi narodna, kulturna, strokovna, informativna in okoljevarstvena revija. Slovenski planinski muzej je bil odprt v Mojstrani leta 2010. S svojo stalno in občasnimi razstavami predstavlja razvoj slovenskega planinstva in alpinizma ter obenem zbira in hrani tovrstno predmetno, fotografsko in arhivsko gradivo. Je prireditveno in družabno stičišče planincev, alpinistov in vseh ljubiteljev gora. Film Gore so vir navdiha in privlačna kulisa tudi za filmske ustvarjalce, ki so od leta 1931, ko je bil posnet prvi slovenski celovečerni film, ustvarili vrsto igranih in dokumentarnih filmskih pripovedi. V zadnjih letih se je v Sloveniji uveljavil tudi Mednarodni festival gorniškega filma. Planinska založba (Publishing House) The earliest visits and explorations of the mountains gave rise to the creation of written accounts in which the mountaineers described their experiences and depicted the beauty of the mountains. These accounts mark the beginning of the mountaineering culture. Planinska založba, the publishing house of the Alpine Association of Slovenia (Planinska zveza Slovenije), issues mountaineering maps, mountaineering and climbing guidebooks of the entire mountainous territory of the Republic of Slovenia, as well as professional books, literature, and other publications. Planinski vestnik (The Alpine Journal) Planinski vestnik (The Alpine Journal), in publication since 1895, is Slovenia’s oldest magazine. Throughout its history, Planinski vestnik has never been just a newsletter of Slovenian mountaineers; it is a publication of great patriotic, cultural, professional, informative, and nature conservation value. Slovenski planinski muzej (Slovenian Alpine Museum) opened in Mojstrana in 2010. The Museum houses a permanent and various temporary exhibitions on the development of Slovenian mountaineering and alpinism, and keeps the related material sources, as well as photographic and archival material. It is a popular event venue and a social hub for mountaineers, alpinists, and mountain lovers. Films Mountains are a source of inspiration and an attractive setting held in high regard by film makers. Since 1931, when the first Slovenian feature-length movie was made, Slovenian mountains have been the subject of many movies and documentaries.
