David writes: “My wife Susan and I have just moved to Ilsington, a village on the edge of Dartmoor. I have taken up the post of Vicar there, having been Rector of St Leonard’s Exeter for the last twelve years. During our time there, one of the mission couples supported by the church were Dan and Rosie Button, serving with Crosslinks in Uganda. Previously, while Vicar of Christ Church Bedford, I was able to visit another Crosslinks mission-partner, Mike McNamara, who was working in Mwanza, Tanazania. And our daughter Anna went on a Crosslinks young-people’s mission to the Gambia a few years ago. So although never a Crosslinks mission-partner myself, I have some understanding of the work of the society. “Relaxation involves exploring Devon: after 12 years in the county, there are still new places to discover. Our dog loves sheep, which presents problems!” Brunel Manor Christian Centre Brunel Manor is the present home of the Woodlands Trust, started in 1942 in London through the prayers of two ladies. The Trust was formed to run a home to provide spiritual, physical and mental refreshment by way of holidays, houseparties and conferences. The work moved to the present site in 1963. The Manor and the furnishings in it have been provided by the Lord in answer to prayer. Most rooms are en suite and the ground floor bedrooms have facilities individually designed to meet the needs of different disabilities. A lift means that there is no need to climb stairs to access any bedroom. Please let us know of your special requirements by adding a note to the Booking Form. Special diets, required on medical grounds, can be provided if notified in advance. All rooms have tea making facilities. For further information, contact Priscilla Gurney.
