Teignmouth Road, Torquay,
Devon TQ1 4SF
If you would like a single room, please indicate
below and we will endeavour to provide one.
Please note that there is a limited number of these
rooms, and not all have en-suite facilities.
It is often much quicker and easier to get to Brunel Manor by
public transport than by car.
To assist us please indicate whether, and with
whom, you would be prepared to share a room if
necessary.
BY COACH: To Teignmouth.
BY TRAIN: To Teignmouth or Newton Abbot.
There is an hourly bus service from Teignmouth which stops
outside Brunel Manor. If you would prefer to be met at the station, please let us know beforehand when you will be arriving.
BY CAR: The M5 beyond Exeter becomes the A38. Take the left
fork onto the A380 signed “Torquay”. After about three miles turn
off onto the B3192 at the foot of the hill in Teignmouth, and continue across Shaldon Bridge south towards Torquay. Brunel Manor
is four miles from Teignmouth at Maidencombe on the right of
the road, on the brink of the hill before it descends into Torquay.

CROSSLINKS
God’s Word to God’s World
“This long-established annual event
provides an unequalled opportunity to
meet other members and supporters of
Crosslinks.”
There will be time to pray for God’s world-wide
Church, listen to God’s word and be
encouraged and stimulated in our mission
involvement.
There will be opportunities to hear news from churches around
the world, and to ask questions and clarify issues.
The afternoons are free enabling you to explore locally - there
are cliff-top walks at hand; by car Dartmoor is minutes away;
or stay in and snooze or chat.
COST
£225 Monday dinner 5 November until after breakfast Friday 9
November inclusive of VAT @ 15%. A deposit of £20 per
person is payable on booking.
Early booking will be greatly appreciated. Because of the
financial requirements of Brunel Manor, it will be necessary for
you to send your COMPLETE FEE to Priscilla Gurney by
Friday 30 September; cheques payable to Crosslinks.
Please note that we do not normally send receipts; if you
require one please send a stamped addressed
envelope.
Some assistance with the fees may be given to
retired mission partners who are unable
to pay the full amount.

Bible Readings
This year we are pleased to welcome David
Harris to lead our Bible readings. David writes:
“My wife Susan and I have just moved to Ilsington,
a village on the edge of Dartmoor. I have taken up
the post of Vicar there, having been Rector of St
Leonard’s Exeter for the last twelve years. During
our time there, one of the mission couples supported by the church were Dan and Rosie Button,
serving with Crosslinks in Uganda. Previously,
while Vicar of Christ Church Bedford, I was able to
visit another Crosslinks mission-partner, Mike
McNamara, who was working in Mwanza,
Tanazania. And our daughter Anna went on a
Crosslinks young-people’s mission to the Gambia
a few years ago. So although never a Crosslinks
mission-partner myself, I have some understanding of the work of
the society.
“Relaxation
involves
exploring Devon:
after 12 years in
the county, there
are still new
places to
discover. Our
dog loves sheep,
which presents
problems!”
Brunel Manor
Christian Centre
Brunel Manor is the present home of the
Woodlands Trust, started in 1942 in London
through the prayers of two ladies. The Trust
was formed to run a home to provide spiritual,
physical and mental refreshment by way of
holidays, houseparties and conferences. The
work moved to the present site in 1963.
The Manor and the furnishings in it have been
provided by the Lord in answer to prayer. Most
rooms are en suite and the ground floor
bedrooms have facilities individually designed
to meet the needs of different disabilities. A lift
means that there is no need to climb stairs to
access any bedroom.
Please let us know of your special
requirements by adding a note to the Booking
Form. Special diets, required on medical
grounds, can be provided if notified in
advance. All rooms have tea making facilities.
For further information, contact Priscilla
Gurney.
