Gala Event and Exhibition
April 16 at Clif Bar & Company
1451 66th Street in Emeryville California
For Win Win 4, NIAD has commissioned artists -- more than 80 national and local artists,
including the artists at NIADʼs studio art program -- to produce work (paintings, photographs,
sculptures, fibers and drawings) in a standard 6 x 6” format. On April 16 from 4-6pm at Clif Bar
& Company, 1451 66th Street in Emeryville, everyone with an admission ticket takes home a
randomly chosen piece of art.
Along with a lot of art, WW4 also features soul and jazz tunes spun by Bill Zindel, light
refreshments including Speakeasy craft beers, a photo booth where the proud new owner and
their work of art can be captured together, and a special film screening of a new movie about
the Art Centerʼs artists.
Admission is $30 per person for a randomly chosen piece of art, $60 per person for one piece of
art pre-chosen by you in advance. For tickets and more information, please telephone 510-6020290 or niadart.org/win4.
NIAD Art Center Art has crafted a supportive and successful studio program for artists with
disabilities, enabling them to use the conversations of the contemporary art world to create
works that reveal the narratives of their lives. Weʼve been able to do it for more than three
decades. And weʼve been able to do it because of the support we garner from the community.
Weʼve said it before and weʼll say it again… You truly really cannot lose at a NIAD Art Center
fundraiser.
New Feature… Big Pieces
In addition to the traditional 6 x 6” pieces, weʼve added a new size category. Weʼre offering a
dozen works that are 24 x 24”. Of course, tickets for these pieces will cost more (but, you know
itʼll be worth it)… $300 for one piece chosen by you in advance or $250 for a randomly chosen
for you piece. WW4 Sneak! This year, you can catch (and buy) the benefit exhibition early at WW4 Sneak! On view from
April 1-12, in NIAD Art Centerʼs Main Gallery, will be all of the donated works. Come to the
opening on Saturday, April 2 (from 12:30-4:00pm) and get the piece of your dreams before
anyone else can nab it.
About WW4
Our annual fundraiser, Win Win, is, we think, the perfect deal – you give a little and get a lot.
Actually, you get the sense of pride in helping NIAD ArtCenter operate for another year and you
get a piece of art for doing it.
All of the available works – created in a standard 6 x 6” format by NIAD, local and national
artists -- are numbered to match a correspondingly numbered admission ticket. After you
purchase your ticket and show up for the party weʼll number it. Then head on in. Be sure to look
at all of the paintings. The one with the corresponding number is yours to take home at the end
of the evening. Plus, weʼll have a photo booth where weʼll snap a picture of the happy couple –
you and your new piece of art. Oh yeah, if you need a little down time, weʼre also screening a
new documentary about the Art Center. See, itʼs Win Win 4.
Participating artists who donated 6 x 6” pieces include Saul Alegria, Gale Antokal, Barbara
Arbogast, Chris Ashley, Angela Baker, Lisa Blevens, Eddie Braught, Jennifer Brazelton,

About NIAD Art Center
NIADʼs visual art program promotes meaningful independent living by artists with disabilities—
while its artists create remarkable contemporary art. In a unique open studio environment, and
with the guidance of qualified staff, NIAD artists acquire new skills in artistic practice and in
independent living. As artists paint, build sculpture, mold clay, or work with textiles, their skills of
observation and project management improve. As they explore and express their creativity,
exhibit artwork in professional-quality galleries, participate in the community, and occasionally
earn money from selling art, their feelings of independence and self-esteem increase. Each
NIAD artwork is an original piece of contemporary art that tells an individual story from the
perspective of an artist with disabilities. Frequently remarkable, surprising, and engaging, NIAD
artwork has become a highlight of the Richmond art scene and has received recognition from
the national artistic community. For more information, visit niadart.org.
