Dear Friends,
Thank you for keeping the quilting tradition going in 2009. In
spite of the economy we found our customers continued to enjoy
their love of sewing and quilting.
We have many opportunities for you to participate in activities
for 2010. Our Fall retreat has been so successful we have added a
Spring retreat. Sign up when you visit the shop or on our
webpage. We hope you will join us!
We are sewing for charity once again. This time our project will
be quilts for ALS—Lou Gehrig’s Disease patients, and our
coupon book for 2010 will help support Serenity House in
Moultrie. We know our quilting customers are always generous
when we ask them to support these causes.
Looking for a project to carry you through the year? Take a look
at our selection of Block of the Month quilts. I know it is hard to
choose so we give you permission to sign up for more than one.
The fabric keeps rolling in and the staff has been hustling making
new samples and cutting new kits. I hope you are signed up for
our email newsletter. Then you can get a peek at all the new
products arriving each week. You can also find us on Facebook,
Twitter and on your mobile phone. Call, click or come in. We are
here for you.

To Take On
The Challenge?
Your challenge is to create an original project using this fabric
from Hoffman's Treasures of the East collection. It can be a
quilt, an item of clothing, an accessory or a doll,
but you must use the Turquoise/Gold fabric
pictured here as an important part of your
design. For a complete list of rules, go to
www.hoffmanchallenge.com. Everyone who
enters the Challenge will receive a fat quarter of
Hoffman Fabric, a spool of Sulky thread and a
lovely cloisonné pin designed for the Challenge.
The winners will receive a cash prize and a bonus stash of Sulky
products, or a Hoffman Fabric Award. If your project is chosen
to be part of the juried collection, it will be in a traveling exhibit
shown all over the US and Canada. If you choose to accept the
Challenge, Suzanne’s will be glad to help with your entry. So
come on and take the Hoffman Challenge!

QUILT FOR A CAUSE
Saturday, February 6 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
Last year our helpful customers joined together to make quilts for
our wounded soldiers. This year we have chosen to make quilts
for patients with ALS—Lou Gehrig’s
disease. ALS is a progressive disease where
the nerve cells that control voluntary
muscle movement degenerate. Gradually
the victim’s muscles become paralyzed
throughout the body. It is the most common
neurological disorder. Every 90 minutes an
American is diagnosed with ALS. Every 90
minutes an American dies from ALS, but
very little research is being done on this terrible disease because
it destroys its victims so quickly. Scientists do not yet know the
cause of ALS and there is no treatment or cure.
Our favorite batting company,
Quilter’s Dream Cotton, is
organizing this effort to help
these victims. You can read
more about their personal
involvement and what you can
do to warm the life, the heart
and the lap of an ALS patient,
and help raise awareness and
research money for ALS at
http://www.quiltersdreambatting.com/HD/ALS.htm
Sign up to bring your quilting tools and a friend. Lunch will be
provided. With your help, we can make a difference in the lives
of patients suffering from ALS.
And while you’re stuffing your stash, look for other patterns and
books that feature Fat
Quarters! Come celebrate the
day at Suzanne’s, save money and enjoy some special Fat
Tuesday foods as a treat for yourself.
