The weekly dinner rides suffered due to the weather. We even ended up cancelling the one during the big storm. Attendance was as follows: February 2nd DiBella’s in Henrietta Mr. and Mrs. Motley, Mr. and Mrs. Thayer, Linda Waterman, Dewey and Lyle. February 6th Breakfast at the Panorama Mr. and Mrs. Schelkun, Mr. and Mrs. Thayer, Lynn Wood, Larry Helber, Sue Angell, and Lyle. February 9th Dragon House in Penfield, NY was attended by Dewey and Lyle. February 16th was cancelled due to weather. February 18th saw 15 at the gathering. February 20th lunch at D&R Depot had Mike and Ginny Schelkun, Mike and Cindy Lewis, Larry Helber and Sue Angell, Lynn Wood and Lyle Nudd. February 23rd The Distillery in Greece Duane and Nancy Motley, Dewey and Lyle. February 28th Ride Planning Meeting and Rider Ed Seminar had Mike and Ginny Schelkun, Mike and Cindy Lewis, Joe and Kathy Costa, Page 1 Chapter NY-W Newsletter Gold Wing Road Riders Association March 2016 Lynn Wood, Dave Hockenberry, and Lyle Nudd. I kind of had to be there. February Birthdays Joanne Johnston 03/06 Gerald Thurley 03/08 Kevin Russell 03/25 Gerald Gardner 03/28 That takes care of the old business and on to the new. This month we have the ride to Cartwright’s Maple Tree Inn on March 12th. That is a Saturday so most of us probably don’t have to work. We are trying it earlier in the season this year so hopefully the line will not be as long. The plan is to meet there at 9:30am. It is always a good meal and a good time. Hope to see you there. We still have openings or can make openings for weekend day trips in the ride schedule. If you have a ride that you really want to do; or better yet really want to lead, please contact Cindy Lewis or Lyle Nudd and we will try to get it scheduled. February Anniversaries Joanne and John Strong Patti and Lynn Wood 03/20 03/21 If you see Mike Schelkun and it looks like he has less hair or it is grayer that is probably my fault. I keep sending him these articles late. So I want to apologize to Mike in this forum. I would like to promise that I won’t be late in the future, but that probably would just lead to another apology. I will however try to do better Mike, and I am sorry for inconveniencing you. Rider Ed From Lyle The Weather had been good, then bad, and hopefully soon good to stay. When the first warm days arrive and you decide to take your toy out to play please spend a few minutes giving it a TCLOCKS. If I have done my job you should all know what that means. If not you can obtain a copy of the form on the GWRRA web page. It is located in the REP Officer Section under the Rider Ed tab under the Programs tab. I’m lost and I’m trying to give you directions. It is called an inspection form. There are forms there for motorcycles, trikes, trailers, and sidecar rigs. The forms all have N#s associated with them. The one for motorcycles is N17. I guess I took the long way around, but am just trying to get you to check your bike out before you take it out for the first trip of the year. Things can change while they sit over the winter. Now that the dirty work is done, fire it up and try to run the wheels off of it. Just remember to take it easy until the roads are clean and your skills have picked up to the level they were when you parked the toy last fall. Editor’s Note - The Ride Safety Coordinator position is still open. It would be great for someone to step forward and take this load off Lyle. It should help him get newsletter articles on time.
