T
he Port Sa Calobra mountain refuge is in the County of Escorca, right on the coast, close to the
mouth of the Torrent de Pareis, one of the few ways down to the sea from the emblematic Serra
de Tramuntana. It is located in an old building that was renovated in the 90s and has served various
municipal uses. In 2014, a part of this unused building was authorised as the only place to stay in
this privileged enclave of the island of Mallorca.
Description and facilities
The Port Sa Calobra refuge has a capacity for ten people and basic facilities and services, such as
running water and electricity. Is divided into a bedroom with five double bunks with mattresses, a
multipurpose room equipped with kitchen, which includes a small cooker, a fridge and a microwave;
rectangular table, benches and a fireplace; a bathroom comprising two washbasins, two showers
and two toilets as well as a wide stone-paved terrace on the the seafront, from which you can enjoy
the incomparable crystal clear waters of the northern coast of Mallorca. Refuge users also have the
use of a parking area for up to four vehicles.
Complementary activities
Port Sa Calobra, where the refuge is located, is the point of arrival of one of the most emblematic
excursions of the Sierra de Tramuntana, the Torrent de Pareis gorge. The mouth of the gorge is
just a few meters away, and is an impressive natural monument culminating in a beautiful sandy
and pebbly cove, framed by a pair of towering cliffs. It is a privileged place to enjoy the marvellous
landscapes and rugged cliffs of this area of ​​the mountain range, from which it is also possible to
take various walking routes and enjoy the wonders of nature, such as the route to the shrine of St.
Lawrence (between Cala Tuent and Sa Calobra) and access to the Tower of Cala Tuent. A point of
interest is a cultural attraction on the first Sunday of July, only 500 meters from the refuge, when
there is a traditional Torrent de Pareis concert in the natural theatre formed by the high mountain
walls surrounding the mouth of this famous torrent.
Localisation and access
The refuge is located on the ground floor of the multipurpose building at the Port Sa Calobra in the
municipality of Escorca. It can be reached by car or bus, using the road to Sa Calobra (MA 2141);
and on foot, via the Torrent de Pareis and Sa Costera routes. There is also sea access by the boats
leaving daily from the Port of Sóller, or by private boat (Coordinates X 482843_Y 4,411,250).

Information and reservations

The fee to use the refuge is 100 € per day.
The reservation has to be a minimum of two nights and maximum of six.
A deposit of € 100 must be paid, which will be returned by bank transfer
within five days of leaving the refuge, once the correct
condition of the rooms has been checked.
You can reserve your stay at the Port Sa Calobra refuge

Steps to follow to book the refuge:
1. Check the availability calendar
2. Fill in the request form and, once signed, scan it and send it by e-mail to:
[email protected], also including a photocopy of the ID of the group leader.
3. The group leader should confirm payment via e-mail within not more than two working days,
attaching the payment slip. Failure to do so will be deemed cancellation of the booking.
4. Within a maximum of two working days the group leader must notify
the payment of fees by email, attaching proof of payment.
Failure to do so will be deemed to waive the reservation concerned.
5. Once the transfer has been received, the Town Hall will confirm
its reception and send the corresponding reservation to the interested party.
6. One day before the date booked, a place to pick up and subsequently return the keys will be arranged.
The keys must be returned before 5 p.m. on the day of leaving the reguge.

Norms of Use
- The capacity for shelter users may not be exceeded (maximum 10 people).
- The users are obliged to inform the Town Hall of Escorca
of any incident or damage observed in the facilities or surroundings.
If it becomes clear that the damage caused by incorrect use of the facilities, the
expenses incurred will be charged to the users, in particular to the group leader.
- Neither the refuge nor its surroundings may be sub-let.
- Refuge users should bring the necessary sleeping materials, such as sheets,
sleeping bags or blankets.
- The Town Hall of Escorca cannot be held responsible for the objects of value of users.
- Animals are not permitted in the refuge, except for guide dogs
- Users must take care of the surroundings and must take any refuse to
the recucling containers located in the recycling centre (punt verd) indicated.
- Refuge users are obliged to clean it. The town hall will provide the necesary utensils for this.
- Smoking is forbidden inside the refuge.
- The Town Hall of Escorca can provide firewood for the fireplace.
- Given that this is a place to enjoy nature and peace and quiet,
you are asked to refrain from making noise and to respect silence,
especially from the afternoon onwards.

Cancellations
- 1100% of the price of reservation will be returned for cancellations more than
15 natural days before the reservation date booked.
- 50% of the price of reservation will be returned for cancellations more than
15-6 natural days before the reservation date booked.
- For cancellations 5 days or less from the date reserved, the booking price is forfeited in its entirety.
- In case of cancellations, the deposit will be returned in full.
