N+M REDUNDANCY SOLUTION
Telerad solution for N+M
redundancy enables to create
flexible architectures to integrate
back-up units alongside
main units.
Cost effective solutions exist both
for receiver and transmitter units
operating on analog interfaces.
They can be used to secure the
transition toward a full-IP
redundancy.
21
N+M REDUNDANCY SOLUTION

•
„ omplete integration with monitoring, „Remote monitoring
C
and maintenance via JBUS and SNMP
•
„Flexible configuration:
-from 1 to 16 main radios
-for 1 or 2 backup radios
•
Full analog solution
to secure transition
toward VoIP
•
Optimized for small
to middle size
systems
•
Outstanding audio
quality ensuring no
degradation at
system level

USiT Project
Simultaneous Transmissions Detection System
23
Context of USiT
USiT : Undetected Simultaneous Transmissions
• Not a new phenomenon, but more and more impacts on ATC :
• Increased ATC traffic → higher probability
• Better frequency precision → phenomenon less noticeable
• BSS systems → hide phenomenon
• Issue addressed by Eurocae ED136 :
• 4 cases defined
requirement for ATC receivers
24
USIT Project
Simultaneous Transmissions Detection
System
Provide a technical solution being
able to automatically detect, with a
high probability and in real time, any
simultaneous transmission occurring
on any ATC frequency.
25
Principle of USiT detection built-in Telerad RE90x0-2E
garbling
Frequency
analysis
 Principle : detect “garbling” that
can already be heard by
controllers in some conditions.
 Limits : voice and
motors can cause false
alarms
26
garbling
voice
Performances of USiT detection built-in RE90x0-2G
Highlights :
• Algorithm built in RE90x0-2G since early
2011 (version 2.00)
• Always improving since !
• Performances:
• 0,5% false alarms
• Detection with power differences up
to 25dB
• 500ms to detect
+
SCT Flag
• Discreet but noticeable audio signaling
(can be switched on/off)
• Several detection profiles handle
different needs (terminal, en-route…)
• Issues with channel testing addressed
