2014/2015 Budget News – Believe it or not
another new fiscal year will be here soon! Shown
below as an FYI is some vital information
regarding the 2014/2015 budget:
All residents of the Greenwood Lake Union Free School District
are eligible to vote; our vote is NOT restricted to Village
residents.
The Library budget vote is separate from the school budget
vote and is held at the Library. Your Library tax appears as a
separate line item on your school tax bill.
The Library’s fiscal year runs from July through June.
The budget hearing will be on Friday, May 2nd, from 1-3 p.m.,
and will be publicized in The Warwick Valley Dispatch and The
Times Herald Record. Patrons are welcome to come to review
the proposed budget with Robert Fraser, Treasurer, and Sandy
Newman, Assistant Treasurer.
For those who are unable to make the hearing, the budget
materials will be available for review at the Front Desk. For
questions, please call Sandy Newman at Ext. 102.
The 2014-2015 budget vote is on Thursday, May 15th, 2014,
from 2-8 p.m., at the Library.
The Board of Trustees meets monthly and the date is listed on
our web site and on our entrance door; the public is welcome!
NEW Newsletter Format –
As you will notice, we have
revised our quarterly newsletter
into a shortened, four-page
version instead of our previous
newsletter. We hope that a
condensed version will serve
you better, as the newsletter
now will focus mainly on
programming, special events, and announcements. General library
information now appears in a brochure, which is available at the Front
Desk.
We realize that people have busy schedules and aren’t able to
dedicate a lot of time to reading up to eight pages of library
information; so, in order to bring you important library information
quickly, we’d like to offer our newsletter as
an “At-A-Glance” resource instead in a
shortened version. We hope you enjoy our
new format! Thank you.
The Library Staff and Board
of Trustees wish you happy
holidays and a wonderful 2014!

“LOCAL HISTORY DIGITIZATION” PROJECT
The Greenwood Lake Public Library Local History Digitization Project
With the closing of the Greenwood Lake West Milford News, Ann Chaimowitz graciously donated original copies of many of the
newspapers. Previously, we were already in the process of digitizing our local history materials so that we could make them available
to our patrons online. As you may have noticed, our web site currently has available for patrons’ use Local History Digital Archives for
35 of Wilbur Christman’s scrapbooks, as well as over 900 local obituaries.
Digitization is an expensive process. Because of this, we are asking those of you with a special interest in local history or
genealogy or who just love the Library to consider making a donation specifically earmarked to this project. Please use the coupon
below when making any donation to this project.
As always, your support of library projects is greatly appreciated.
