April - May 2015 Dynamic Duo’s Necklace \ $65 Saturday, April 4 (10am-5pm) Flat Even Count Peyote fs \ $25 Thursday, April 16 (6-9pm) You will notice that this unique necklace combines an Ndebele stitch and a two-drop peyote stitch to create a most attractive Ndebele (herringbone) effect. Sure to catch everyone’s attention, choosing a Super Duo color that contrasts with your seed bead color will make for an even more dramatic look. Basic bead weaving experience is required. Materials list. Join us as we learn one of the most basic off-loom bead weaving technique. The peyote stitch has been seen in Native American beadwork as well as Ancient Egyptian artifacts. It can be woven in an even count or odd count of beads per row, although this class will be focused on the more popular even count. We’ll be making this simple and fashionable band bracelet featuring a Z hook clasp as the focal. All skill levels welcome. Students will learn how to make jump rings, eye pins, caged bead, a clasp, and a cute charm. After linking them all together, you will leave with a professionally crafted bracelet, all created by you! Heavy gauge wire requires good hand strength. All skill levels welcome. Materials list. From here you will have the skills to advance to more complex chainmaille weaves and beyond. A custom cut rings kit must be purchased at class. All skill levels welcome. Materials list. Eos, the Greek goddess of the dawn awakens us each day and the texture of this pendant is reminiscent of a sunrise. Learn cold working to texture and join metal, use a wire wrap technique to embellish, and finally a patina technique to create a range of colors. It seems to be alive with undulating waves that are made up of beads and other precious bits all floating along with a few small surprises caught in the current. During this class you will also learn how to make the precious little fish that’s happily riding the breaker. Glass fish beads will be available for purchase at class. It’s seen in many forms, although we will be concentrating on the flat version in this class. Named after it’s ninety degree (right angle) configuration of beads, this stitch weaves in a figure eight path combining cells together and forming a grid pattern that is so versatile and a popular foundation to many off loom beaded designs. The classic and popular Byzantine chain pattern will be our emphasis as we create either a continuous rope chain or a segmented version that perfectly frames sparkling crystal beads. We will go over techniques to design a symmetrical piece of jewelry...without any pain. Then embellish it with some advanced techniques including windows and 3-D raised embroidery. This class is for beginners as well as more experienced bead embroiderers. Peyote stitch experience is helpful but not required. Materials list. Sloppy, crazy, tornadic wrapping is the method for these rustic looking drops. Cleverly disguised, they are actually bails that have been jazzed up with little beads. These drops are perfect for a big link necklace, bracelet or a spectacular single drop hanging from a leather cord or delicate chain.
