This is also the perfect time of year to start thinking about making exercise a bigger part of our lives. The cooler weather means a more comfortable time while we are pushing boundaries and many sporting clubs seasons start to take off in earnest. If new to exercise, you don’t need to kit out in the fanciest gear or sign up for a gym membership - a brisk walk with the family in the evening will help you feel fitter and healthier after just a few weeks. This guide to everything going on around the city over the next few months is bursting with great ideas for all ages. Twenty years of our performing arts Master Classes program has seen many fantastic performers learning from some of the finest professional mentors in Queensland. Come down to the Civic Centre on 15 August to see a very special performance in celebration of this program. Kids go Wild is always a popular treat for the kids over the school holidays and a great way for them to learn more about our local environment. Get in early as these workshops always book out. Entries for our iconic Enviroplan Photographic Competition open on 5 June, so get your cameras ready to snap some images of local wildlife and our natural environment. This competition has big prizes up for grabs for adults and kids alike. There’s no reason to stay on the couch this Winter with so much going on. If you see me out and about come and say hi.
