Things have slowed down due to the festive season. May the year of the Rabbit bring to
all good luck, good health and prosperity.
The 24th Annual General Meeting has been fixed for Saturday, 19th March. Please put
this in your diary! As Haslinah Yacob has put in her resignation, we will be electing a
new president and another exco member to replace Rabiah Omar who has moved to
Johore. We take this opportunity to thank both Haslinah and Rabiah for their valuable
contributions to AWAM and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.

Past events:

E&P: In the last E&P, we made several decision for the VAW-committee, such as
setting up a new training committee that works on the issues of violence against
women in order to be able to conduct better trainings.

Managing money workshop: The second part of “managing money” workshop, held on
22 Jan did not attract many participants, but those who came were able to learn a
lot and could even talk about their private finance. Presenter Carol Yip helped
revealed participants’ strength and lead them to further explore it.

As a gesture of goodwill and in conjunction with the lunar new year festivity, Wai Ling,
Rozella & Abby distributed some goody bags around the neighbourhood on Jan 29.

Bersama” and Bernie was at the cheque presentation ceremony on 9 Feb at Astro’s office at
Seri Kembangan to receive the cheque of RM3,000.
