a message from
your town board
Dear Resident,
Greetings! We have so many exciting initiatives and programs to offer you
this fall and winter through our Parks and Recreation Department. I hope you
take the time to browse through this brochure and learn more about them.
Alexander Gromack
Supervisor
Shirley Lasker

We are committed to providing our residents with a wide selection of
quality programs that are both family friendly and of individual interest. Be
sure to register for any upcoming programs that interest you because space
can be limited.
We have recreational activities for pre-school through senior citizens. In addition
our parks offer settings for passive recreation, picnicking, sports and athletic
facilities. Please take the time to enjoy the award winning walking trail at
Congers Lake Memorial Park or participate in one of our exciting programs.
Our Town is proud to offer the best, most versatile recreational programs in
Rockland County and we hope that you have the opportunity to make use of
them. If you have any suggestions or comments, please feel free to call our
Parks and Recreation Commission.
Frank Borelli
Councilman

ALL ABOUT ELVIS
AN ORIGINAL SHORT FILM & LIVE CONCERT
FEATURING REX & THE ROCKABILLY KINGS
Rex Fowler (of renowned acoustic duo Aztec Two-Step) presents an
exciting musical revue and short documentary film paying homage to
the legacy of Elvis Aron Presley. Elvis’s musical contribution, cultural
impact, and artistic achievement made him an unsurpassed 20th century Icon. He was also an incredibly generous man, which is the focus
of Rex’s documentary film 200 CADILLACS.
200 CADILLACS, created and co-produced by Fowler, is at times funny
and also touching as it shines a light on this beautiful but seldom
discussed side of the King of Rock and Roll. A Q & A session will follow,
led by Rex – a veritable fountain of fun and interesting facts about
Elvis’s early career. After a short intermission, Rex & The Rockabilly
Kings will perform their rockin’ renditions of Elvis’s early classics.

Do you Geocach?
Geocashing (pronounced “geo-cash”) involves someone hiding a box
of trinkets and posting the coordinates of the box’s location on the
internet; other people reference the coordinates and then go hunting
for the trinkets. If you want to hide a cache in one of the Town’s parks
you must submit an application that can be found on the Town’s
website. This is a great hobby to get you into the great outdoors.
For more info, check out www.geocaching.com.
