Hot Properties www.remax.ky AUGUST 17TH, 2007 • Issue 17 /2007 RE/MAX introduces their newest Associate Bill Baldwin Bill was born in Vancouver, Canada and moved to the Cayman Islands at the very early age of 6 years old. Bill’s father, Keith Baldwin started visiting the Cayman Islands in the end of the 1960’s and decided to move his family here in the late 70’s. Keith was on the original developers on the island and a key player in many aspects of today’s tourism industry. The insight, initiative and drive exhibited by Bill’s father proved to be a huge inspiration to Bill who opened the Blackbeard’s Rum Company. Today that company is a world renowned rum and rum cake producer. It has grown to become one of Cayman’s true success stories and provides the island with one of the few items exported. James Bovell and Kim Lund welcome Bill, adding that with Bill’s knowledge of the Islands and their people, his background in business and his open and friendly manner he is a perfect addition to our team. Supporting Family Fun Day RE/MAX Cayman Islands recently met a lovely woman by the name of Nathina Campbell. She approached us asking for assistance with a program called the Back to School Family Fun Day, and after hearing about this fair the Associates of RE/MAX were more than excited to help. Nathina started the Fun Day out of concern for many children in Cayman. A parent of two children who attend George Town Primary, Nathina noticed a reoccurring theme at PTA meetings. She said that so many parents were expressing frustrations with a lack of constructive activities available for children not only after school but also in the summer months. It was at this time that Nathina realized there needed to be a youth club where children can go to learn valuable skills and have some fun in a safe environment. “The idea was there, but I was not sure how to start this kind of program, so I thought what I could do would be to organize one day of activities and see how well a day like that would be recieved” states Nathina. So last year Nathina organized the first Back to Member of CIREBA School Family Fun Day and she proudly said that 132 children attended. This year Nathina is working tirelessly to mobilize donations and volunteers for the 2nd annual Fun Day to be held in October. The event will be held at the Airport Park and will be open to all of the children in the Cayman Islands. There will be bouncy castles, rides, food, face painting, games, giveaways and prizes for all age groups. Nathina states that this day is also about parents and children having fun together and strengthening the family bond. Since Nathina has a full time job, she uses all of her free time to search for donations and support, nothing is too small. If you or your company would like to assist Nathina in her efforts she can be contacted at 328-6262 or at her email address [email protected].
