April 17, 2011 Congratulations Lausanne on another successful Tennis Tournament from The Scheidts Lausanne Lynx Annual Tennis Tournament J.R. Humphreys is pleased to support Lausanne Tennis Welcome to the 2011 Lausanne Lynx Annual Tennis Tournament “There’s no place like home…” Less than a year ago, I would often walk down to the construction site for our new tennis courts and athletic fields. I would try to imagine how our drawings, digital renderings and blue prints would translate into real life. I created a picture in my mind of what the courts would look like and where they would be situated relative to the athletic fields. I looked at our massive pile of dirt and tried to carve out an image of a top-notch tennis center. I envisioned the colors, and where the lights would be positioned, and the color of the wind screens. But my imagination could only go so far. I never imagined how gratifying it would be to see Lausanne students and parents actually playing on the courts. I didn’t Welcome continued... Tournament Players anticipate the joy that I feel when I see Tony Womeodu, Julie Kosten and Mark McCluskey teaching the game with passion and enthusiasm. I couldn’t fathom how inspired I would feel at the sight of Middle School students populating the courts on Saturdays for extra practice sessions. The feeling I get when I see all of our plans come to fruition is priceless. It’s more than I could have ever imagined. The new Lausanne Tennis Center is more than a collection of six tennis courts. It’s a place to build a community around a wonderful sport. The Lausanne Tennis Center gives our kids a place to practice and compete with pride. It also provides us with a home. For the first time, we are pleased to host The Lausanne Tennis Tournament on our own courts! While we all have had fond memories of tournaments in the past, we are anticipating a new level of energy and community-building as a result of holding the tournament at home. We thank you for your participation in this momentous occasion for Lausanne Athletics, and we look forward to building fruitful relationships in the future. This is the new era of Lausanne Tennis, and it’s a great time to be a Lynx! Best of luck in the tournament.
