For this is he, of whom it is wri en, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. Ma hew 11:10
From your President…
Wow what a busy couple of months it is been. My having shoulder surgery on March 1 has certainly complicated my ability to lead the chapter in be active in chapter events. However, praise the Lord the arm is healing and gaining strength, the
blood is thinning and I am on a recovery plan from the blood clots. I give Jesus all the glory for the healing I am experiencing and I thank you for your prayers and support for both Paula and I.
Like I said things have been hopping for the chapter, and it doesn't look like things are letting up anytime soon. Because
of the surgery and my inability to type, we did without a chapter newsletter last month so I have to make up for lost time.
Well, not really lost time, just a missed opportunity.
Gullo Yamaha Bike Blessings
Since our meeting, most of the activity has been concentrated in April. However,
since I'm making up for two months of newsletter, let's look back a little further. The Pavement Apostles
sponsored a barbecue and bike blessing event at Gullo Yamaha in Huntsville back on February 23. Multiple
chapters showed up including Shepherds on Steel and the Jericho Riders. Among the Messengers to attend
was prospective member Robert Hall who has since been patched out! Congratulations Robert and welcome to the chapter. On the first weekend of March, we had Messengers participate in the Bill Glass Weekend of Champions. The weekend of champions is always a great opportunity to experience prison ministry
and a very safe environment. If you've never done this before and think God is leading you towards prison
ministry try a Bill Glass event, you won't regret it.
The CMA day of prayer was held on March 3rd. Our Rd., Capt. led a group to the courthouse in
Conroe where participants walked the grounds and prayed for God's guiding hand on our Country,
our Government and our Military, followed up by a lunch. Karla reported that it was a great Fellowship.
Karla Darden and Judy Osborn attended the National Women's Conference in Fort Worth on the
weekend of March 16th. Both reported that it was a wonderful conference and very uplifting.
Carts, Bikes and Babes
This last weekend had chapter members very busy. Many of our members helped out the Jericho riders with the Carts, Bikes, and Babes rally in Somerville. Paula and I were out there on Friday and there
were a lot of people in attendance. It was reported that there was a great increase in attendance over last year. My thanks goes out to the Messengers who helped the Jericho riders in making that rally a success.
On Saturday we started early at West Conroe Baptist Church for their first annual Duathlon. We
could've used more help but as it turned out we had just enough to cover the minimum requirements,
God is good. We made some great new friends and got some donations for Run for the Son, not to
mention the great Fellowship and fun. It was quite chilly that morning so the hospitality tent was quite
popular for its hot coffee and doughnuts. Yes, even though the theme of the event was athletic in nature, we were able to give out two dozen doughnuts. We had a fun time.

The Messengers meet at Ryan’s Steak House in Conroe every third Tuesday at 7:00 PM meeting time. Come early for food
and fellowship. Ryan’s Steakhouse is located at 1413 N. Loop 336 next to Wal-Mart.

March-April 2013
From your Vice President...
Well, the April showers have really brought out the Blue Bonnets. Soon it will be me to ride through
the country side and get drunk on the smell of Honeysuckle, that wonderful spring fragrance.
We all should take me to just get out and smell what GOD is providing each spring before it gets to
hot. We all get so busy in our daily rou nes that it’s me to be reminded of all the good simple free
things GOD has to offer.
So with that, even if there isn’t a group ride scheduled, take me on your own and get out with that
iron horse and see where she will take you. You may even get to minister to someone you do not know
and have them thinking about our Lord.
Be blessed, ride safe, and good journey, Don’t ride faster than your angel can fly!
A Chris an Soldier on my Iron Horse and In GOD, I Trust!!

Tiffany Georgous Benefit Ride
Next on the agenda for last Saturday was the benefit ride for Tiffany
Georgous at the Backwoods Bar and Grill outside of Cleveland Texas.
Paula and I got there just after the ride started. That did not affect us
too much since we were in the pickup. There were a dozen or so CMA
members in attendance. I haven't heard the results of the benefit but I
do know there were a lot of people contributing to the benefit as far as
I could tell. We enjoyed a great plate of barbecue and great fellowship
as well.
The next stop was Mike and Cheryl's wedding in Dobbin Texas. Traffic on Highway
105 was horrible; as a result we were late and just missed the wedding ceremony. But
we did get to take advantage of the festivities that followed. Mike and Cheryl make a
great couple, both of them have a heart for Christ and I am certain that God is guiding their steps. I pray that God blesses their marriage and that he directs their paths.
Mike and Cheryl’s Wedding
Bikers for Bikers is coming up this next weekend so let's all get out and support that
Rally. The following week is the Hawgs of Texas Rally in Columbus Texas. This is
going to be a big event were going to need all the help we can get so make sure you
take time to sign up on the volunteer list for that rally as your help will be greatly
appreciated.
Don't forget that May 4th is just around the corner. If you plan on eating and haven't
given me your parties headcount, please do so now. Run for the Son is almost here but there is still time to bring in those donations and
to maximize your contributions. My prayer is that you have caught the vision of Run for the Son and with your efforts we far exceed our
goal. With our trust and faith squarely placed in Christ, exceeding expectations is not only possible, but is a done deal!
Last but certainly not least on the upcoming schedule is the Texas state rally. This year's four-day rally will be held in Leakey Texas at the
Alto Frio Baptists And conference center. If you've never been to the hill country of Leakey Texas, get ready for some of the best biking
roads in Texas. This year state rally is shaping up to be one of the best ever and one you want to miss.
So, the next few months are going to be busy with plenty of opportunity to serve. Welcome to our new members and I would say thanks
to all of you who rearrange your schedules, sometimes sacrificing your vacation time and step up to serve even when it's inconvenient to
do so. Thank you to all our chapter prayer warriors, whose prayers go before those in the field that serve like a hedge of protection. We
are the body of Christ, each member having a place and purpose in the body, all working
together to the glory of God. God did not save us for us to spend our time sitting on the
Radical: Stands out in the crowd.
sidelines. Bench (pew) sitters is not who we are, the sidelines is not what God has for us.
When God saved us he changed us radically. Listen to what the apostle Paul said to the
leaders of the congregation at Ephesus in Acts 26:19-20 (The Message translation):
“You know that from day one of my arrival in Asia I was with you totally—laying my life on the line,
serving the Master no matter what, putting up with no end of scheming by Jews who wanted to do me in.
I didn’t skimp or trim in any way. Every truth and encouragement that could have made a difference to
you, you got. I taught you out in public and I taught you in your homes, urging Jews and Greeks alike to
a radical life-change before God and an equally radical trust in our Master Jesus.
Hopefully we don't have to place our lives on the line or have anyone want to do us in as
Paul's did when we served at a rally, however that same radical life change that Paul experienced is the same radical change we experience
through salvation in Jesus Christ. Like Paul, we are not the same anymore, not who we used to be. God separates us from our sin as he is
to the west. We now stand out in the crowd, we are different...radical, with a radical message that produces a radical change in the lost
biker’s life.
Messengers, we need to ask ourselves this; if in any one of the upcoming rallies, after the chapter members spend many days of effort,
expense and time, long hours in the sun, and stand until our feet hurt. After all is said and done and we’re packing up to go home and not
a single person has given their life to Christ that you know of, is it still worth it? The answer should be absolutely a resounding YES! Being obedient to God's calling to the very end, no matter what the cost, or what others think, requires that we be changed. The light of
Christ makes us different, transformed. And that's radical man!
God bless you all, your President, Gary Teel

From your Chaplain…
That’s how I felt last night coming home from our meeting. We’d just had a pretty intense meeting
hearing from a brother that lost two nephews to a house fire and how the experience had affected him
and was still developing. His niece (their mother) was critically burned as well and suffering greatly
through the loss of her sons.
There were not many words of encouragement or hope that came forth, but there was immense sharing
of grief and sorrow that took place in that room and there was not a person present that did not share in
his pain and carry that burden with him. I feel it now as I type these words and I know that Christ is
ministering to his heart and theirs through our shared suffering and pain.
So, as I pulled onto the highway to head back home last night, these feelings rose up within me and the
only thought I had, facing such terrible human sorrow, was that in my feeble attempt to find some kind
of resource within me to be of some kind of comfort to this brother and his family that are obviously hurting and need help on so
many levels at this present hour; the only thing that came to my mind was this: I am utterly and completely useless, helpless,
worthless and no count.
Before I was allowed to contemplate these things for a single moment this thought entered my mind almost like an audible voice:
“And what exactly have you been praying for? To be fully surrendered to Christ, to trust wholly in Him, to be emptied and used
up, to have the grace and mercy of God manifested in and thru me to others. How indeed did you think that would happen?”
In thinking of the ministry of Christ, we do not see Him engaging in great works of showmanship. We see him struggling with
humanity and embracing the most painful and terrifying of all deaths. In this the Father was glorified and we received our healing.
