Bulls will be housed by the seller at no charge until April 15 at
the buyers risk. After April 15th the buyer will be charged a per

Welcome to the 6th Annual Triple Play Gelbvieh and Balancer Production Sale.
The Forbes, Leonhardt, and Volek families would like to express our sincere appreciation for your interest in
our programs.
This year has been a year of extreme highs in both the prices we have received for calves and the amount
of money spent on feed. Where this whole thing will shake out is anyone’s guess, but if you look at a few key
indicators the future looks bright. The US cow herd is holding steady, if not still shrinking. Demand continues
to strengthen for all proteins both here and abroad. These two factors put the cow calf producer in a profitable
position for the foreseeable future.
The bulls this year are just as they have always been, functional with no extremes. We believe in breeding
for structural soundness, fertility, fleshing ability and disposition in an eye appealing, muscular package. Bulls
designed to make you a profit!
We hope to see you on the 17th of March at Magness Livestock at

The 1st Intermediate Report is in from the 2010-2011 Midland Bull Test. Of the
ten breeds (including Angus, Red Angus, Herefords, & Simmental) the Gelbvieh
cattle topped the scale in average daily gain and weight per day of age. The fifty
Gelbvieh bulls on test averaged 3.20 for ADG and 3.33 for WDA. USDA breed
comparison research ranks Gelbvieh with the lowest average cow size and the
