December 2015 - Johnson City Senior Center
December 2015 30 Brocton Street Johnson City, New York johnsoncityseniorcenter.org Office: 797-3145 Fax: 729-8437 Lunch: 797-1149 Hours: Weekdays 9:00—4:00 Fridays, closing at 2PM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Darlene Leonard [email protected] The Status of Bingo Games at JCSC Bingo games at Johnson City Senior Center is a major fundraiser. The profit gained from these games sustain the utility bills and repairs of the center. With the rising costs of the organizational necessities, it is imperative to maintain the status of Bingo generated funds. As a non-for-profit, JCSC continually has been on top of fund development resources to stay open. Of late, some Bingo games have fallen short of producing the revenues needed to meet our needs. A Bingo committee consisting of board members, players and staff meet regularly with Bingo inspector, Gayle Cohen to review game concerns, days of the week for games played, players’ needs and concerns within the NYS Gaming Commission guidelines. For more information please visit the web site, www.gaming.ny.gov. It is a difficult task. We have made some changes in food, games, volunteers and prizes. It takes roughly ten volunteers and staff to run each game. Planning the right combination to meet all of these needs has been a HUGE concern. The number of players determines the prize brackets that each game is played. It would be impossible to give the larger prize amounts to be awarded with only a few people. The center cannot afford to do this. The committee will continue to work through these difficult times and look for ways to capture the patrons to play here again and then we can promise those big prizes. Please show your support, invite your family and friends to the Bingo games and make the room full of players. It benefits all of us! Games for December include: Mondays December 7,14,21 at 12:30 sales, 1:30 play Wednesdays December 2,9,16 at 5:30 sales, 6:30 play Happy Holidays!
