Please refer Beam Angle on P-5 Do not position at the tank centre line. It causes multiple reflections and results into incorrect measurement. Recommendation, especially for dome shaped tanks. EXPOSURE OF ANTENNA TIP/ FACE INTO THE TANK 138 C51/52 138 K55 50 37 138 C53/C54/K56 50 20 138 K58 Radiating portion of antenna must protrude atleast 20mm into the tank as shown in the fig. DIRECT SUNLIGHT 5 0 50 Antenna Extension Radiating portion of antenna must protrude atleast 50mm into the tank as shown in the fig. Inflow path, objects (e.g. ladders, cooling pipes etc.) or uneven tank wall surface should not protrude into sensing cone of pulse radar. MAXIMUM NOZZLE HEIGHT USE IN STILL PIPES SUN SHADE Bypass 138 K57 d hmax 80 100 100 150 h Make sure that the Pulse Radar is protected against overheating by direct sunshine. When used with still pipes, the minimum diameter of the still pipe must be ≥ 50 mm; however, should be > horn diameter. P-9 ANTENNA SELECTION It is essential for specific application and installation requirements to be evaluated and the correct antenna type selected. The SBEM range of radar antenna include: 4Horn and Parabolic antennas - suited for solid applications like coal, cement, food grains, etc.; also well suited for liquid applications 4Rod antenna - specifically suited for very aggressive products - corrosive and highly condensing products 4Wave guide antenna - suitable for bullet tanks and small containers (Refer leaflet for 132 GWR LF_GuidedWaveRdr_132GWR) Basic Criteria for Antenna selection 4Service - Solid / Liquid 4Measuring Range 4Process Connection 4Beam Angle 4Dead Band 4Mounting requirements For free space applications, it is essential that the horn extends below the nozzle. The general rule for diameter selection is "the larger, the better," as a larger diameter of the antenna generates a narrower beam. 138 K58 4“Aiming Device” to compensate for the angle of repose of the solid material 4“Air purge connection” for extremely dusty conditions or media tending to create build-up The rod antenna is ideal for tanks where only small diameter nozzles are available and tanks containing condensing products (or heavy water condensation) Air Purging Aiming Device 4Operating conditions, etc. The parabolic antenna is the largest free space antenna with the smallest beam angle. It is ideal where the location of the nozzle is close to tank walls, The parabolic antenna is also an excellent choice on products with a low reflectivity. 138 K59 4“Aiming Device” available 4“Air purge connection” available 4Smallest beam angle of 40 Most suitable antenna type for moderate operating conditions and small tanks. Also works in corrosive duties. or corrosive products, as the rod is easy to clean and has good "drip-off" properties. The "inactive" length of the antenna should extend below the nozzle (see P-9) 138 K58 138 K58 4High Accuracy of 4No dead band Installation of Pulse Radar 138 K58 in Coal bunkers P-10 ORDERING CODE 138 C51 P- Standard 0 A: Plastic Rod/ PP/ -40 to 60 C B: Plastic Rod/ PTFE/ -40 to 1200C 138 C52 P- Standard 0 B: Plastic Rod/ PTFE/ -40 to 120 C A: 50 mm B: 100 mm C: 150 mm GP: Threaded 1 1/2" BSP A: 50 mm B: 100 mm C: 150 mm FC: PTFE Flange DN50; SS 316 FD: PTFE Flange DN80; SS 316 FE: PTFE Flange DN100; SS 316 FK: PTFE Flange DN150; SS 316 Not relevant to this model A: 4-20 mA, 2 Wire B: 4-20 mA+HART D: Aluminium (2 chamber) / IP 67 N: 1/2" NPT A: Yes Not relevant to this model Not relevant to this model A: 4-20 mA, 2 Wire B: 4-20 mA+HART D: Aluminium (2 chamber) / IP 67 N: 1/2" NPT A: Yes Not relevant to this model Approvals Antenna 138 C54 P- Standard F: Horn Antenna ø 150 mm, SS316 G: Horn Antenna ø 200 mm, SS316 138 K55 P- Standard B: Plastic sealed Ø 50 mm/ PTFE (400C to 1300C) Antenna Extension A: No Extension Process Connection FD: Flange DN 150/ SS 316, 150# FE: Flange DN 200/ SS 316, 150# A: 100 mm B: 200 mm GP: Threaded 1 1/2" BSP NP: Threaded 1 1/2" NPT Seal Output 2: Viton A: 4-20 mA, 2 Wire B: 4-20 mA+HART D: Aluminium (2 chamber) / IP 67 N: 1/2" NPT A: Yes A: Yes X: No Not relevant to this model A: 4-20 mA, 2 Wire B: 4-20 mA+HART D: Aluminium (2 chamber) / IP 67 N: 1/2" NPT A: Yes Not relevant to this model 2: Viton A: 4-20 mA, 2 Wire B: 4-20 mA+HART D: Aluminium (2 chamber) / IP 67 N: 1/2" NPT A: Yes A: Yes X: No 138 K58 P- Standard B: Horn Antenna Ø 48 mm/ SS 138 K59 P- Standard Q: Parabolic ø 198 mm/ SS H: Horn Antenna Ø 98 mm/ SS R: Parabolic ø 246 mm/ SS Process Connection 138 K57 P- Standard B: SS Antenna with PTFE cover & Flange DN 50 C: SS Antenna with PTFE cover & Flange DN 80 D: SS Antenna with PTFE cover & Flange DN 100 Not relevant to this model Slip-on Flange Not relevant to this model Seal Output Not relevant to this model A: 4-20 mA, 2 Wire B: 4-20 mA+HART D: Aluminium (2 chamber) / IP 67 N: 1/2" NPT A: Yes M: Horn Antenna Ø 98 mm/ SS with PTFE dust shield GP: Threaded 1 1/2" BSP GA: Threaded 1 1/2" NPT GE: Threaded 1 1/2" BSP with Air purging HA: DN 100/PP HC: DN 100/ SS 316 HD: Aiming Device DN 100/ PP F0 : None 2: Viton A: 4-20 mA, 2 Wire B: 4-20 mA+HART D: Aluminium (2 chamber) / IP 67 N: 1/2" NPT A: Yes GP: Threaded 1 1/2" BSP GA: Threaded 1 1/2" NPT GE: Threaded 1 1/2" BSP with Air purging HA: DN 100/PP HC: DN 100/ SS 316 HD: Aiming Device DN 100/ PP F0 : None 2: Viton A: 4-20 mA, 2 Wire B: 4-20 mA+HART D: Aluminium (2 chamber) / IP 67 N: 1/2" NPT A: Yes Approvals Antenna Antenna Extension Process Connection Seal Output Housing Protection Cable Entry Display & Keyboard Air Purging Housing Protection Cable Entry Display & Keyboard Air Purging Approvals Antenna Housing Protection Cable Entry Display & Keyboard 138 C53 P- Standard C: Horn Antenna ø 50 mm, SS316 D: Horn Antenna ø 80 mm, SS316 E: Horn Antenna ø 100 mm, SS316 F: Horn Antenna ø 150 mm, SS316 G: Horn Antenna ø 200 mm, SS316 A: No Extension FA: Flange DN 50/ SS 316, 150# FB: Flange DN 80/ SS 316, 150# FC: Flange DN 100/ SS 316, 150# FD: Flange DN 150/ SS 316, 150# FE: Flange DN 200/ SS 316, 150# 2: Viton A: 4-20 mA, 2 Wire B: 4-20 mA+HART D: Aluminium (2 chamber) / IP 67 N: 1/2" NPT A: Yes A: Yes X: No 138 K56 P- Standard B: Horn Antenna Ø 48 mm/ SS C: Horn Antenna Ø 78 mm/ SS H: Horn Antenna Ø 98 mm/ SS M: Horn Antenna Ø 98 mm/ SS with PTFE dust shield A: No Extension FD: Flange DN 150/ SS 316, 150# FE: Flange DN 200/ SS 316, 150# P-11 QUESTIONNAIRE (Information that will help us give appropriate solution for your application) Company: Contact Person: Telephone: Mobile No.: Contact Address: Fax No.: Email address: Web address: Site Location: End User: Quotation required for : Nos.
