S U N D AY M O U NTA I N V I EW S Thanks! We would like to give thanks to our liturgists, Donnie Gallawa at 8:00, and the children and youth of the church at 9:03 and 10:30. An anonymous donor has challenged the members and friends of MV to raise more $ for flood relief. New gifts received since November’s Church Council Announcement and before the end of 2013 will be matched to $10k, doubling your special gift to Mountain View Church in its time of need. Insurance will only cover so much of the damage done in September’s flood, so this generous gift will match you dollar for dollar! That’s $20,000 to refurbish rooms, lay new carpet and tile, replace materials and enact the watershed plan to help keep water away from our buildings! Please SHARE-A-GIFT this year ! The toy collection box in the Narthex is for new and gently used toys to be given away to needy families. The box will be there through today and the toys will be given away on Saturday the 21st. To help sort the toys and set up the shop, or to help give away the toys on the 21st (must be 16 year or December 15, 2013 older to give away the toys), please sign up on the website www.shareagift.org. Last year, nearly 600 families (about 1800 children) had a brighter holiday because of your generosity. Questions? Call JoAnn Joselyn at 720 562 8027. Thanks so much! Carols and Cocoa: To kick off the "Live Nativity" presentation, we will have caroling and cocoa and cookies out in front of Frasier Manor (the northeast side of the church) this Friday, December 20th from 5:30-6:30pm. Please bring your families and friends, young and "mature" and join in this Christmas celebration Christmas in the Park: Mtn. View members will deliver lunches and warm gloves to the homeless in the downtown park (near the band shell) on Dec. 22 from 12:00 - 1:00pm. Costco has some great ski gloves at $17.00/pair. Our goal is to deliver 50 pairs of warm gloves (or mittens). If you would like to donate money or gloves to this project a basket will be available in the Narthex for gloves, and any money to buy gloves can be dropped off at the church office. Joys: Advent Marketplace was a great success! Thanks to all who so generously donated of their time, talent and money to make it happen! The church office has returned to the lower level with new paint, flooring and furniture and a working phone system! Come visit! Lucille Reilly joining us and sharing her dulcimer, arranging genius and enthusiasm! Work is beginning on the restoration of the Barker Hall level! Prayers: For all who are missing the presence of a loved one during this holiday season. Lunches will be put together from 10:0010:30 on Dec. 22 at a table in the Narthex. All families are invited to come and help in the preparation on their way to or from the church service. Then, join us at 11:45 as we go to the park to share some Christmas spirit!
