Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce Volume 8, Issue 5 May 2005 Bands Set For Alive After Five® Begins July 8 Patchogue’s popular Friday night summer street fair is scheduled for six nights this year—July 8, July 22, August 5, August 19, September 2 and September 16. As in previous years, bands each night will be on three stages—A, near the BrickHouse, B, outside Trio, and C, near the North Fork Bank Plaza. Being billed as the largest Irish festival in the State of New York, the Sláinte Irish Festival, formally held in Port Jefferson, comes to Patchogue’s Shorefront Park on June 3, 4 and 5. The festival will feature more than 40 bands and acts on multiple stages as well as scores of professional vendors of all things Irish. The entertainment will include these national acts: The Young Dubliners, Solas, Glengarry Bhoys, Cherish the Ladies, Tommy Makem, The Makem Brothers, Black 47, The Prodigals, Andy Cooney, Celi Rain, The McKrells, Morning Star, The McCabes, Fathom, Liam Clancy, Gael Force, Music for the Celtically Insane, Robbie O’Connell, Aiofe Clancy Band, Harp and Shamrock, and Cady Finlayson. Donation to Tsunami Relief The Greater Patchogue Foundation sponsored "A Taste of Patchogue" January 30 raised more than $5000 to help Tsunami victims. Event Chairman James McPeak (second from left) presented checks for $2670 each to Priscilla Lee (left) representing the American Red Cross and Dula Amarasinghe (Asean Capital) creator of the Sri Lanka Orphanage Fund, LTD.
