Alive After Five—Off To A
Good Start
The weather timing was perfect. A rainy Friday, May 28
turned magically glorious just at
opening time to make for an outstanding first night for our summer long Main Street fair.
Crowds were very good and
there were lots of favorable comments.
Next up is June 11.
Featured bands that night will be

at the Blue Point stage

waterfront expo and boat
show is ready to go, June 5
and 6, at the Fire Island
National Seashore Ferry
Terminal on West Ave.
with an ambitious schedule
of attractions and events put
together by the Waterfront
Events Committee under
the leadership of Mike
Breummer.
Included will be an inwater boat show, nautical
exhibits, live music and
entertainment, a carnival,
food, contests, river tours, a
sea serpent parade, scuba
demonstrations and fun for
the whole family. Most
events will occur on both
days, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5
p.m. on Sunday. Sunday
will also feature the annual
Blessing of the Fleet.
On Saturday there will be an “Anything But A Boat” race in which
participants will man a variety of floating objects.Also featured on Saturday
will be a V.I.P. tent set up as a Parisian Cafe with food from Louis XVI,
wine and beer. Tickets are $250 per couple.
Funds raised by the event will help to purchase a fire boat for the
Patchogue Fire Department. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children,
under 6 free. More information on the event is at www.patchogueseafair.org.

Memorial Day. Upstairs, too, a flag
in the window would be great. We
are part of a very patriotic
Patchogue and it is important to let
customers know that we share in
that patriotism.

It is nice to see so many people
joining in the litter campaign. We
must keep our streets clean. Every
little bit helps us have a much cleaner business area which does impress
Patchogue visitors.

Move For Life
Under the leadership of Tracy Trypuc and her Health and
Wellness Committee, Move For Life is an 8 week fitness program
designed to help participants of all physical abilities, regardless of age,
current fitness level or activity level.
If there is a planter near your
store, please keep an eye on it.
Empty the trash mistakenly placed
in it, and if necessary add some
water.
Move For Life allows participants to set their own personal goals
from moderate to intense. Walking, jogging, swimming, yard work—
what ever works.
The flowers are a great addition
to our downtown, but we all need to
help keeping them beautiful.
