Foundation Shows at the
Patchogue Theatre
The Greater Patchogue
Foundation, continuing its efforts to
bring world class entertainment to
the Patchogue Theatre will present
three shows this fall.
These shows are a cooperative
effort between the foundation and
the theatre. The foundation is
financing the costs of the acts and
the advertising and the theatre will
provide the space and all of the production and sell the tickets.
Chuck Mangione, a two time
Grammy Award winner and a trumpet playing jazz icon for more that
40 years, will be at the theatre
Saturday night, Sept. 25, at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $45 for orchestra seats
and $35 in the balcony.
On Saturday, Oct. 9 at 8 p.m.
it will be another legendary jazz figure—percussionist Bill Cobham.
Cobham has won international
acclaim for more that 30 years for
his matchless, dazzling, ambidextrous skills as a drummer. He will
perform with the Culture Mix band.
All tickets are $35.
Then on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 8
Grucci Fireworks on July 10
Patchogue’s annual fireworks display over Great South Bay will be held
this year on July 10. The Grucci show is titled “Songs By The Sea.”
The show is financed, in part, by local
residents who purchase tickets for a special
viewing area and party. This year, that area
will be in Shorefront Park adjacent to Mascot
Dock. The tickets are $125 per person.
The show will be choreographed to
music that will be broadcast over WBLI-106.1.
That will be a big weekend in Patchogue.
Carnival Days, with their sidewalk sales will
be on July 8, 9 and 10. Family and children’s
entertainment will be featured on Thursday.
Friday night is Alive After Five.
p.m., another world class performance, this time in dance.
It will be Ailey II featuring
young performers from the Alvin
Ailey American Dance Theatre. All
tickets are $35.

The planters have been planted thanks to the cooperation of the
Patchogue Business Improvement District, the Greater Patchogue
Foundation and the Patchogue Garden Club. I noticed Elaine and Mike
Borowski, Guy Vitale, Paula Murphy, Carl Unger and the Beautification
Committee Chairperson, Sylvia Roeloffs out there on the streets, cleaning
the planters out and planting. Great job! Thank you. Now let’s give them a
hand by watering the planters and keeping them free of litter. Pitch in!
Carnival Days are here on the 8th, 9th and 10th of July. Customers
look forward to these sidewalk sales, so let’s give them a bargain so they will
return. We have great entertainment planned for Thursday. Friday is Alive
After Five. Many potential customers will be on our streets.
A Patchogue College VIP card is in the planning stages. You will be
hearing more about this from our committee.
August Sale Days are on the 5th, 6th and 7th.
Jennifer from the Blue Moon Enchanting Boutique has planted some
beautiful geraniums on her doorstep and Two Morrows Pub has also been
busy planting flowers at their entrance. Every little bit helps to make our
business district more attractive. More great news—the Church Street parking lot has been repaved. Let’s keep up the good work.
I am sure you have noticed that available rental space on Main Street
has been shrinking. Now that’s a good sign.
