A HEALTHY DIET A healthy diet needs to have a balance between fats, proteins, and carbohydrates, calories to support energy needs, and micronutrients to meet the needs for human nutrition. RECOMMENDED Increased consumption of fruits and vegetables, legumes, whole grains and nuts. You need to eat more: -nuts -whole grains -fish -poultry meat -fruit -vegetables You need to eat less : -red meat -sweets -sugar Diets are generally divided into four categories : 1. low-fat 2. low-carbohydrate 3. low-calorie 4. very low calorie Fad diets are diets that claim to promote weight loss or treat obesity by various mechanisms.
