Cathedral Tours Lectures The Holy Trinity Cathedral serves as the center foundation of our religious community. Built in 1954, our cathedral consists of beautiful iconography and Byzantine architecture. Tours and lectures on the history of our Cathedral are given every hour on the hour. To learn more about the Greek culture and Orthodox faith, visit the Hosanna Bookstore and the Greek cultural exhibits. Every hour* on the hour *Except 3:00 pm Saturday Chris Pangalos, US Marine Infantry Veteran, historical lecturer and award-winning reenactor is back once again delivering his series of presentations on the greatest troops of the ancient world, The Warriors of Greece. Learn how incredibly brave men from the Spartans to Alexander the Great defended Western Civilization from Eastern enslavement and helped spread the Greek culture around the known world. Lectures and/or times are subject to change Choir Performance The Holy Trinity Cathedral Choir will be giving 3 choral concerts in conjunction with Cathedral tours. A program featuring the rich heritage of ancient and modern musical styles of the Greek Orthodox Church. Saturday, September 10, 2016, 2:30, 3:00, and 3:30 pm Live Music and Dance Live entertainment is the centerpiece of the festival atmosphere and takes place on one indoor and two outdoor stages. The main tent is filled with the sounds of the mandolin-like bouzouki, and dance performances are scheduled throughout the weekend. New this year is the addition of a second live band, Endasi, which will stroll the indoor and East Blvd stages as well as accompany folk dance performances. Traditional Greek folk dancing is presented by Holy Trinity’s youth, ages 5 to 25, who dance, sing and play the instruments of their ancestral villages. Check the festival schedule (posted at each stage) and be sure to catch a performance by Thrylos, Holy Trinity’s award winning adult dance group. Cooking Demonstrations New for 2016, some of the best Greek cooks in the community will host live cooking demonstrations, during which they share their secrets of beloved family recipes from Our Ladies Society of Philoptochos award winning cookbook. Thurs, Sept. 8, 12 pm & 4 pm; Friday, Sept. 9, 12 pm & 4 pm; Saturday, Sept 10, 12 pm & 4 pm; and Sunday, Sept 11, 1:30 pm in the cultural center, upper level (Room 10 on the map below). New this year, Konitsa’s Hangout – Enjoy watching a collection of Greek movie clips, concerts and other entertainment events from the 60’s 70's, 80's and 90’s on wide screen TV. Bring your Greek coffee and favorite Greek pastry and relax while you watch some of Greece’s most popular talent of actors, singers, dancers and comedians. A collection of ancient artifacts and memorabilia will also be on display for your viewing pleasure. Konitsa’s Hangout is part of the Festival Cultural Center, located in the lower level of the educational building. Evzones Back this year by popular demand, there will be daily reenactments (Friday thru Sunday) of the ceremonial Athenian changing of the guard. Thank You Festival Patrons Fr.
