Stronger Than a Bully
Students will be seeing an anti-bullying program titled
"Stronger Than a Bully," presented by the PTO Cultural
Enrichment Committee, on Thursday, October 6. The
program uses audience participation, magic, ventriloquism,
comedy and role-playing to impart lessons about how to
avoid being bullied as well as actions a bystander can take
to help prevent bullying. Two acronyms, S.M.I.L.E. (Stay
cool, Make eye contact, Identify the attack, Lead positive
conversation, Erase the attack) and H.E.R.O. (Help out,
Empathize, Respond and report the action, Open
communication) are designed to help students remember
the important points of the program.

Antolini Behavior Program
This year, students were introduced to a new
school-wide behavior program. We had a pep
rally on September 2 to introduce the
program. The highlights are as follows:
Antolini School-Wide Expectations




Respect the setting
Respect yourself
Respect others
Respect property
Antolini Star Program
Antolini Promise
As a member of the Ann Antolini School
community, I will treat everyone with respect and
behave in a manner that promotes learning.
All staff and students signed a banner committing to
the Antolini promise. The banner will be on display
at the T.
Antolini Stars
Our star program is designed to recognize
student behavior that goes above and beyond
expectations. Staff members award a star if
they see a student exemplifying star–worthy
behavior. Examples of this type of behavior
include helping a student in need, standing up
for a fellow student, opening a door for a staff
member, and picking up something someone
else dropped.
Art Pictures in the Community
These students have artwork on display around town. The art was created in the spring while
they were in second grade at Bakerville School.

Progress on the Playground!
Join us…
and “Help put
A big step has been accomplished on the road to a
new playground for Ann Antolini! The Board of
Education has informed the PTO Playground Subcommittee that the location of the current playground is where the new playground should be built.
Location is key to applying for grants, assessing budgets and designing the new playscape and we are
thrilled to have a go ahead!
Work in these areas will be our focus over the coming months. We are in need of helping hands to
assist our efforts - on an ongoing or single project
basis –whatever you can contribute is greatly
appreciated. We meet once a month alternating
evenings and daytime to accommodate all schedules.
Please contact Jill Healey at [email protected] if you can assist.
