Furniture China
Be part of the
May Design Series
The May Design Series brings a fresh new approach to exhibitions and is set to
become the UK’s definitive international furnishings fair.
Taking place at the end of the European show cycle it provides retail and
contract visitors with the perfect opportunity to make a fully formed buying
decision at the right time, with the right supplier.
The relocation of INTERIORS UK to be The Furniture Show at May Design
Series will be complete in 2015; this combined with Lighting incorporating arc,
K & B, Decor and DX will make the May Design Series the one-stop
destination for new products, covering each interior space.
Why London
WHAT IS THE INDUSTRY SAYING?
" London is the capital of the
country, so why shouldn't it be the
capital of the industry? I'm
confident that London is the best
place for the show to be going
forward"
Mazhar Ayub, Managing Director,
Highgate Beds.
"London is an attractive prospect
in terms of location for the show.
Birmingham frequently delivers a
disappointing number of
international visitors, and the
move to London looks set to
change this"
Nick Garrat, Managing Director,
Ercol.
"Lladro relish the opportunity to
exhibit in London, as this is where
we believe our new design led
products need to be seen - we're
delighted that there is finally set to
be a first half London event that
five our collections the exposure to
truly showcase them" Alan
Dunthorne, National Sales
Manager, Lladro.
"The industry needed a successful
London event to compete with the
international fairs in the likes of
Cologne and Milan, but crucially
the timing of the May Design
Series means that not only is it
positioned perfectly to catch the
peak of the retail cycle, but it does
not clash with any other significant
events on the calendar"
Phillip French, UK Agent to Sits.
Exhibiting at
May Design Series
May Design Series offers the only opportunity in
the UK to meet the top retailers and contract
buyers in one place.
As the only large scale London event, it is THE
opportunity to meet UK’s architectural and
design community who specify for projects that
take place across the UK and the rest of world.
75% of all global product specification is done
from London Headquarter practices.
May is at the end of the European Show Cycle.
Concepts have been explored and prototypes
developed. This is the time when finished
product can be launched.
Now that The Furniture Show (formally Interiors
UK) has joined forces with the May Design Series
it is the UK’s largest and most significant event.
Finally the UK has a definitive international
furnishings fair to sit among the greats – imm
cologne, Maison & Objet, Salone Internazionale
del Mobile and Stockholm Furniture Fair.

Testimonials
May Design Series
2014
“Being a key trade event, we have been
glad to have experienced such good
quality of visitors at May Design Series.
Key decision makers have been able to
walk onto the stand and speak with our
own decision makers. People have
been visiting our stand not purely to
enquire, but to do business.”
Sara Wells, DOCA UK
"All the best bits of great design event with all
the credible leads of a serious trade fair.“
Russell Cameron, INNERMOST
“The May Design Series provided a great opportunity to
showcase some quality product to members of our industry.
We wrote orders at the show – leaving us with a lot of follow
up work over the coming months.”
Tim Robinson, KOINOR – GWINNER
“We felt that it was very important to
exhibit in London, so taking part in May
Design Series was an easy decision for
us. This event is a unique opportunity for
us to build and maintain relationships
with a key group of interior designers,
and we have had a good number of
quality leads. We are delighted to have
been a part of the show, and look
forward to growing alongside it.”
Elisabete Fontes, PEDROSO & OSORIO
“We have had a lot of major buyers come to
visit us at May Design Series, including
Chaplins, Barker & Stonehouse and Sterling.
We have taken orders on-site, and it has
become evident that meetings in Milan have
transformed into orders at May Design
Series. Our most popular lines have been
our classically Italian, design-led products,
proving that the market is grateful to see
something different from what is usually on
display at a UK trade show.”
Fabrizio Giuliani, CALIA ITALIA
“We’re proud to have exhibited in London
for the first time and we have been very
pleased with our reception at May Design
Series – we will be back next year.”
Tiziana Canzian, SANTAROSSA
“Trade Fair International had a brilliant time taking part in
May Design Series this year, and could not be happier with
the outcome. Business was great at the show and we made
some great contacts to take forward, overall the percentage
of new contacts was high and for a business such as ours, it
is always beneficial to have new customers and different
markets as well as retaining old customers. We were also
pleasantly surprised by the ease of travelling to and
working with the venue –ExCeL made the process of
exhibiting very straightforward, and the organisers ensured
that the show itself was well laid out and easy to navigate.
Having the design show in London is fantastic, as it is
synonymous with cutting-edge fashion and design,
especially to international clients.”
Shemene Uppal, TRADE FAIR INTERNATIONAL
“May Design Series has been a very good
show for us. We have met with a very varied
group of prospects, right through from
antiques retailers to fitters and interior
designers. We have met the exact audience
that we were hoping to target, and the leads
have all been very high quality.”
Sasha Kamenetski, TUDOR OAK
“The logistics at ExCeL were the best of any
show we’ve been to – the facilities are
excellent, and the event is well organised. We
felt that it was important to take part in May
Design Series as we are best known as a retail
outlet, and we wanted to build upon our trade
presence. We have met with visitors that
didn’t know we also operated in the trade, and
have been very satisfied with the number of
people that we have met, right through from
contractors, specifiers, and hotel designers.
We have even met with an ongoing franchise
prospect!” Wayne Clarke, AND SO TO BED
