Hello Members,
We are very pleased to see that
Wayne has volunteered to take over
as Editor of the Newsletter and
wish him all the best.
After quite some time we will again
know what has been happening in
the Branch and as our health
improves we will be looking forward
to participating in coming events.
The future of the publication
depends very much on you, the
readers, so please get involved and
send in your stories, pictures and
plans to Wayne so that we can all
share your activities.
Regards to all
John & Judy 
Hello fellow Ulyssians,
I am sorry that it has taken so long
to get this Issue of the newsletter
out. Unfortunately I have had a lot
to deal with and unfortunately that
has slowed things down. 
Christine and Brian stepped up and
got the August edition published so
a big thank you for doing that.
I also have to acknowledge the
efforts that Judy & John put into
getting the newsletter out for your
enjoyment and reading pleasure.
I believe they published it for about
4 years, it maybe more, I wasn’t
here so I don’t know. I think it’s
going to be hard to beat that. 
If you have anything that you wish
to sell, please email the details to
me at the email address at the top
of this page and I will place it in the
For Sale section of the next edition
of the newsletter.
Any stories of interest or
newsworthy articles, including any
ride reports that you might think
are worthy of being published
should also be emailed to me.
If you are sending me photos I
would appreciate it if you could
please attach them to an email,
preferably in .JPG format.
All photos should be in their original
size. This will allow me to publish
them at the best possible
resolution.
Marco has contributed a few ride
reports along with photos taken on
the day. So look out for them later
in this issue.
Peter Palis has also forwarded the
latest Ride Calendar to me via Helen
so I will be fitting that in towards
the back of this issue so that you
can plan which rides you might like
to be a part of.
I have attached a photo of myself
so that those of our members that
don’t know me personally will at
least be able to put a name to the
face. 

Ou The morning was a bit cool and like
most bike riders the first thing that
came into my mind, was I think I'll
take the car this morning... just
joking with you guys.
Both the Harley's roared to life and
with Natalie having done both of
them up in the traditional
Christmas gear (see picture) we
headed out to the local servo. With
many of the locals giving us a wave
and big smiles as we passed, we
finally got to the mining museum
where we were greeted by lots of
people who had already arrived and
parked their bikes. More bikes
were arriving, and it’s no wonder
with it being such a beautiful
morning.
up with the Cooloola Coast branch
for morning tea. What a great
morning tea it was. There were
fresh cakes and fruit loafs, hot
coffee/tea just waiting for us.
Thank you guys I
will not mention
names because
there are just too
many to name.
After a great
morning tea we
took some group
photo's then
headed off back
to Gympie‘s
Victory hotel to
meet up with more
bikes and Santa in
his big red truck
and a Police escort.
At 10:15 we headed off to Nelsen
Park via Mary street, where the
Gympie branch committee were
busy manning the B.B.Q. serving us
hot food and cold drinks. Well done
guys you know who you are, a very
big thank you goes to you all for a
job well done.
It was great to catch up with older
Ulysses members who can no longer
ride due to personal reasons.
A Merry Christmas to all and Happy
new year
We Thank our sponsor for your
Support without you guys this event
would not be possible. 
At 8 o'clock we left the mining
museum and headed to Tin Can Bay
with about 45 bikes in tow, to meet

themselves and their bikes in
bright fluorescent pink, you know it
must be for a good cause.
More than 350 motorcycle riders
threw their weight behind the 12th
annual “B

yesterday, making it the largest
con ngent in the event's history.
Funds from the ride will go to
Sunshine Coast-based Bloomhill
Cancer Help charity, which provides
support to those affected by cancer.
Ride Leader Pam Cleary,
whose mother has ba led
breast cancer, said the sea of
bikes was a welcome sight.
"This is massive, it's the
biggest one we've had," she
said.
" We ' ve h a d a fa n ta s c
turnout today. I just can't
express how great it is.”

Ulysses Brisbane branch
member Leslie Sorensen
travelled to the Sunshine Coast
for the charity ride, pink bra and
all, and said the cause had a
special significance for him.
"I've had a few friends that have
had breast cancer," he said.
"A friend of mine, his grandson
came down with leukemia. He's
in remission now.”
Three local police
officers on motorbikes
helped escort the group.
Mr Sorensen said it had
been great for the group to
have a posi ve associa on
with police, following the
introduc on of tough an bikie laws by the Newman
Government.
"There's a lot of good
motorbike riders out there that
do good work," he said.
"Campbell Newman said we're
all criminals... I'd like to sit down
and have a talk with him.”
Riders started off at the
E amogah Pub, then travelled
to Kilcoy, finishing at the Kawana
Bowls Club.
The ride was organised by “G

Bloomhill Cancer Help General
Manager Mervat Quirke said the
funds raised would allow Bloomhill
to con nue to deliver vital services
to more than 900 clients on the
Sunshine Coast.

mornings that makes you think,
Gee... I'm so glad that I woke up this

The day started to heat up to around
35 degrees as we headed

Most of us started to think
that we need to find
somewhere that has aircondi oning, so we
ended up at
Coolum Bowls Club
It was so nice to get
out of the heat. A

Our first stop was at Maleny organic
