You wireless handheld portable telephone is a low power radio transmitter and
receiver. When it is ON, it receives and also sends out radio frequency (RF) s i g

All Motorola cellular telephones are manufactured to exacting specifications and

depend upon the quality of this Motorola product.
Motorola Digital Cellular Phone V680 is a super-compact, super-light type of the
mobile communication terminal devices. It is a cellular communication device that
employs the Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) technology with spectrum
efficiency, economy, price competitiveness and high portability.
As one of the modulation or multiple access methods, CDMA has adopted the
direct sequence spread spectrum communication method mainly used for the

military communication devices to maintain security and to ease the difficulty in
call connection in the densely populated area such as the present metropolitan
area. Its soft/softer handoff, hard handoff and dynamic RF power control
technologies help resolve the call disconnection. In addition, it provides a right
solution to address the subscriber capacity problems by enabling the subscribers
in certain areas to use of the same frequency.
The CDMA digital cellular network is configured with the Mobile Switching Office
(MSO), the Base Station Controller (BSC), Base Station Transceiver System
(BTS) and the Mobile Station (MS). And MS and BTS comply with the IS-95A OR
TSB-74 specifications.
The relevant MS specifications are as follows:
- IS-95A (Common Air Interface): Protocol regulations between MS and BTS
- TSB-74 ; Support for 14.4kbps data rate and PCS interation for wideband
spead spectrum cellular systems.
- IS-98: Least performance specifications for MS hardware

Feed power to the H/P E3631A pwer supply to measure the current consumption
as shown in Figure 1 above.
Feed pwer and measure the current for standby state. Then, measure the current
for busy state with a call connected to HP8924C equipment
(If your feed power, the pwer supplied and the current consumed will be
displayed on the monitor.)

Disassembly & Assembly
The use of the screwdrive, which is in accordance with the standard is required as
a set being reassembled
Do not give too much pressure on the set
Be precautious not to give any damages on Plastics, LCD and the Flexble PCB

Extract the UIM Card as being pushed up with one of fingers as in the picture
Cap Dummy hole Separation
Separate the Dummy hole Cap with Tweezers
Be cautious in order not to make any scratches on Plastic if excessive force put
into.
Sua Antenna Separation
Separate the Sua Antenna using the Antenna tool in counter clockwise and get it
out of the phone as below

Loosening the Screws(Housing Rear)
Loosen all(4 each of a set) screws in the phone with Star-shaped driver
At this time, if excessive force put into it or not using the standard
screwdriver(Star-shaped) the screw could be damaged. A little high attention
would be required
Separate the Housing Rear
As with the picture below, hold it with its side upward, and pull up the Front
Housing deliberately.
In the opposite side, do and follow the same procedures, and Do try not to make
any damages on Hooks

Screw Separation
Loosen the Screw as below. At this time, if excessive force put into it or not using
the standard screwdriver(Star-shaped: T6), the screw could be damaged
Tape Front Separation
Take out the tape with Tweezers as below
Separation Hinge and PCB Flexible - 1
Insert the Tweezers vertically through the furrow and push the hinge to the
direction showing. Keep this being vertical and push it to the left, then separate
the Front Housing pushing downward.

Separate the PCB Flexible from the Housing Front cautiously as the picture below.
Do NOT put excessive force not to get the PCB Flexible damaged
Housing Flip Front Separation
As the below picture, Put finger into a finger-nail between the Housing Flip Front
and Housing Flip Rear, and pull it up to the side locker if some excessive force put
into, it’s possible for Flip Ass’y to get bent, so take attention closely.
