Dear Parents and Friends,
Please come enjoy a special evening of fun and celebration at
Powhatan’s ‘Soirée du Vin’ an Saturday, April 12th. We are
very excited to offer a new venue under a large tent at Notaviva Vineyards in Purcellville, VA. The setting will be more
relaxed with a rustic chic flare. The food, fun and opportunity
to enjoy old and new friends will make it an evening you won’t
want to miss!
This year’s Gala will feature an auction table comprised of
items for every taste, interest and price. The live auction will
offer a variety of valued items that promises to be more exciting and spark more interest.
Parent volunteers have worked tirelessly to gather a wide
range of auction items. Among the many fantastic items are a
Club Level Box Suite for any Redskins Game; a trip to Domme,
France; amazing dinner parties; a unique Cooking experience
For Two with Paul Cullen from ‘Bad Company’ at Notaviva
Vineyards and so much more.
So dust off your cowboy boots, bring a few of your friends
and join us in celebrating another fantastic school year.

Auction Rules
Buyers must contact donors to arrange for services. Services must be utilized before April 12, 2015, unless otherwise specified.
The buyer is responsible for understanding the terms
of the sale. Misunderstandings of terms, conditions,
time limits, and general conditions are the responsibility of the buyer.
Items must be picked up the night of the auction.
Descriptions of items have been made with every effort
to describe them correctly and all items are sold “as is”.
Please note that vacation homes are not transferable.
The donor offers the items at his/her risk; the successful
bidder partakes of the items at his/her risk. Powhatan
Parents Association and the School bear no responsibility
for the donor, item, successful bidder, or guests of the
successful bidder.
Silent Auction Rules
All silent auction items are numbered. Persons desiring
to make a bid will write their bidding number and the
amount of the bid on the official silent auction bidding
sheet. Your bidding number is registered to you. Please
use this number when you bid.
Each new bid must equal or exceed the minimum
increase amount stated on the sheet.
The silent auction tables will close at various times during the evening. Closing times will be announced.
Auction Rules

The winning bid will be circled and the sale recorded at
the cashier’s table. It is the bidder’s responsibility to
check the carbon copy bid sheet that will be left on the
silent tables to learn if his/her bid is the winning bid.
Sealed Bid Rules
Each sealed bid must be for a specific amount.
Your name, address, and telephone number must accompany the bid.
Items successfully procured through the sealed bid
process must be paid for upon notification.
Sealed bids for Silent Auction items may be received until
3:00 PM, April 11, 2014. Live Auction sealed bids may be
received until the beginning of the Live Auction.
Your bid should state the amount beyond which you will
not go. Your personal bidder will bid up to your stated
amount.
All bids must be presented in a sealed envelope and
marked with the Auction Item Number on the front.
Reserve Prices
Some items may have a reserve price as a condition of
sale. If the reserve amount is not reached, the item will
not be sold. The auctioneer will announce if a Live Auction item has a reserve price.
