Hilton Head Island & Bluffton
in the National News
Hilton Head Island named one of the “Top 10 Islands in the
U.S.” by TripAdvisor. TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site,
announced its Travelers’ Choice awards for Islands. The awards honor
over 100 islands worldwide - Within that highly coveted list Hilton Head
Island took the 5th spot in the U.S.
Based upon millions of reviews posted by consumers on TripAdvisor, the
island was named to the esteemed list, “Long known as a golfer’s paradise,
Hilton Head Island is heaven for any type of sports enthusiast...In fact, the island
plays host to many prestigious sporting events throughout the year. All of it
surrounded by sunny beaches and lush greenery.”
Your Chamber worked with U.S.
News & World Report contributor
Erin Gifford who penned the
“4 Golf Getaways to Take This
Spring” April 10th roundup which touted the island as leading the list of
the country’s best golf destinations.
A “paradise for golfers” the island features two dozen golf courses and
top-notch accommodations, with packages that make booking a golf
vacation easy and enjoyable on and off the course. Palmetto Dunes
Oceanfront Resort’s Stay and Play getaway was spotlighted as well
as The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa’s Golf & Spa package.
U.S. News & World Report reaches 7.4 million unique viewers per month.
Huffington Post readers also had a chance to enjoy the golf getaway
article, which was picked up online. The news publication reaches over
45 million unique
viewers per month.

Golf Magazine’s May readers will get a look at
Harbour Town Golf Links in its “Best Trips: Top 10 List”
article, which will feature 10 of the “Most Influential
Designs You Can Play.”
“As much as Robert Trent Jones changed the face of design,
Pete Dye changed it again. Dye went smaller...Toss in mossdraped oaks and an iconic lighthouse and you have Harbour
Town.”
The golf publication reaches over 1.4 million readers.
Island Renaissance: Your
chamber’s continued
