ITALY THE WURLCHAMPIONS!
WurlKap’06
Dubai, UAE (my-uae news-network) Mission Accomplished: Italians clinched the WurlKap!
Italy(myUAE) won the myUAE WurlKap’O6 in a highly
charged tournament. On their way to the Final, Italy
produced some of the best display of their famous hit
and run trademark: long passes to their strikers.
As if watching a Mission Impossible movie, the Italians
accomplished their impossible mission with remarkable
record! No single goal was conceded along their way to
glory, with limited number of players!
In their first game against Holland(MTI-bUniverse), they
were up against 8 players - after losing Mustafa Massimo
(who was a non-starter, injured while on a tour to a luxury yatch factory few hours before the tournament) and
Malek Nesta (who
Pak Li was
(left)injured
in action!after 5 minutes of play).
The winner was scored from a left foot strike by Hasnol
Totti, beating Holland’s keeper Nik Van Der Sar.
Their second game against Togo(Emirates) was a close
encounter. However, after several breaks led by Asfa
Simone and Affandy Inzaghi a long ball was floated by
Nik Cannavaro. The ball was flicked by Hasnol Totti over
Togo’s keeper, Zarir Agassa. The ball hit the post, and in
the ensuing melee, Hasnol Totti slide in to pushed the
ball into the open goal.
Italy was held by England(SuperTeenz) in an evenly
fought match. Italy, sensing that they are on their way to
the Final after their earlier 2 victories played cautiously.
Several chances were created, which were strategically
“wasted”. England however were unlucky not to score
on several occassions. Italian defence trio of Fauzi Zaccardo, Ammar Materazzi and Nik Cannavaro were forced
to work overtime.
Even when England managed to break lose from the
tight defence of Italy, they could not penetrate the Italian
custodian; several goal bound shots were miraculously
saved by Fudzail Buffon.
Runner-up: France
Beaten finalist, France(PECD) also advanced to the Final
unbeaten. Led by the inspirational Zainal Zidane, Les
Bleus marched to the Final win 2 wins and a draw (in
their opening match against England).
A goal from Samsul Henry was enough for them to register their win against Togo, while Zariman Trezenguet
and MdNoor Saha scored against Holland.
Third place - England
England led by Saifullah Beckam was unlucky as they finished the tournament with 4 draws. The only goal scored
was an own goal, a deflection off a scorcher from Fadli
Lampard (against Togo). England however displayed their
best performance in their 3rd game against Italy. Several
breathtaking goal mouth melee led by their strike force
of Nasrudin Owen, Farhan Crouch and Alaudin Rooney
were bravely contained by the Italian tight defence.
Early Favorite Floored
Tournament favorites, Holland did not live up to their
pre-tournament favorite tag. The trio strike force of
Mahmud Arjen, Zuzuli Nistelrooy and Bahri Hasselbink
for whatever reason could not find the net. Their midfielder, Shah Cocu however managed to register his name
as their goalscorer on two occasions.
15kg Pari caught!
Holland finished fourth after having registered a win (1-0
against Togo) and lost twice (0-1 Italy, 0-2 France) and
drew 1-1 against England.
5th placed: Togo
myUAE WurlKap’O6 was definitely not to be Togo’s
tournament. Although they can only grab a point against
their last opponent, England, they did showed a lot of
promises. Captain Busri Adebayor and Fairuz Mamam
were constant menace with their defence splitting passes
and darting runs. They were however unlucky not to find
the net. Togo’s results: 3 loses (0-1 France, 0-1 Italy, 0-1
Holland) and 0-0 England
Final: The Clash of European Powerhouse
The final match was evenly contested. France launched
several daring attacks. However, the dangerous strike
force of Samsul Henry and Zariman Trezenguet were
time and time again foiled by quick reflexes of veteran
keeper Fudzail Buffon and tight defence marshalled by
Nik Cannavaro.
Upfront for Italy, Hasnol Totti were not able to penetrate
the French goal as he was tightly marked by Ganesh
Thuram and Syed Boumsong.
However, in the 10th minute, a pass from Hasnol Totti
to Ayman Zambrotta who squared the ball for Fadli Del
Pierro to score the winning goal. In the dying seconds
Italy almost scored their second goal. However, a shot by
Hasnol Totti outside the penalty area hit the goal bar.

karierku:
seorang Internal Auditor dah 5 tahun pun - kalau mengikut definasi ortodoks ialah providing check and balance
(control) element dalam perniagaan. Kalau nak definasi
“hip” sikit, we are the Management’s partner in internal
process improvement!
Apa beza Internal Auditor and External Auditor?
The internal auditors (normally part of organisation)
scope of work is comprehensive. Ianya membantu syarikat accomplish its objectives, improving operations, risk
management, internal controls, and governance processes. Concerned
aspects of the organization
Pak Liwith
(left) all

— both financial and non-financial (strategic, operational
etc.) — the internal auditors focus on future events as
a result of their continuous review and evaluation of
controls and processes. They also are concerned with the
prevention of fraud in any form.
The primary mission of the external auditors pulak (outsourced from accounting firm) is to provide an independent opinion on the organization’s financial statements,
annually. Their approach is historical in nature, as they
assess whether the statements conform with generally
accepted accounting principles, whether they fairly present the financial position of the organization, whether
the results of operations for a given period of time are
accurately represented, and whether the financial statements have been materially affected
based on the best practice
Apa pulak skill/knowledge yang perlu ada?
There are numbers of skills that are essential for Internal
Auditors. But I outline the 3 most important:
Internal Auditor
Assimilation skill - to adapt quickly in any kind of business/department/environment, thus business wide
knowledge is important (auditors have to read a lot!).
Interviewing skill - to get important information from
the staff within organization you know, people tend to
hide things from auditors.
Reporting skill - to make the reader (management, audit
committee, board) understand and foresee the impact
of any issue. This is quite tough especially when auditing
specialized area with a lot of technical jargons (AC/Board
members normally comprise people from different backgrounds).
15kg Pari caught!
Hmm, pakej jadi Auditor ni OK? AlhamduliLlaah! Puas hati
What is the career path like? Mula-mula one
will start as Exec level before jadi Manager. Then Senior
Manager. After some time, one gets to be GM Internal
Audit or some organization the title is Chief Internal
Auditor
Is the work here different then when you
were in Malaysia? Nope, processnya sama
Why Internal Auditor? Well, one gets to learn lots
of thing in an organization, and it requires lots of understanding over a short period of time! Plus, 90% 0f most
top USFortune 500 companies have Audit background!

The Lion Dance:
The lion dance is a vigorous form of dance that is usually
performed during Chinese festivals such as Chinese New
Year.
The origins of the lion dance are linked closely to the origins of the Chinese New Year celebrations. It is said that
in ancient times, a mythological creature known as Nian
terrorised China and devoured its people on the eve of the
new year. The only animal that managed to wound this
beast was the lion. Thus, in an attempt to frighten the
beast, the villagers decided to mimic the lion with lions
made of cloth.
In accordance with this legend, the dance is believed to
usher good fortune, as well as ward off evil spirits.
The lion dance calls for perfect co-ordination, elegance and
nerves of steel. Two dancers are usually needed to give life
to a “lion” - one to control the movements of the head,
eyes and mouth; the other to act as the body. The first
dancer that controls the head determines the movements,
while the second must work in tandem with him.
This isn’t a simple task as the lion’s head, which is brilliantly
adorned with feathers, fur and glitter, weighs from 9kg
to 15kg, a considerably heavy burden to hold aloft while
moving vigorously.
The head is usually constructed of papier mache and bamboo, complete with eyes that blink and a mouth that snaps.
Therefore, the first dancer must have perfect co-ordination inspite of the burden.
The dancers are usually enticed with gifts, usually ang pow
(money in red packets) attached to a vegetable, which
are tied to a pole. The pole is then placed at a door or a
window. The dancers would then try to get these gifts,
making it look as though the lion devours them.
Often, the lion dancers are accompanied by two other
masked dancers who act as jokers, provoking the lion;
the dance is commonly performed to the beat of the tagu
(Chinese drum) and the clanging of cymbals.
In Malaysia, troupes of lion dancers travelling from one
place to another in trucks are a common sight during the
15-day period of Chinese New Year. They are usually hired
to perform at individual homes and business premises such
as hotels and shopping complexes during this auspicious
period.
However, it is not unusual to see it outside of the new year
season for it is also in demand among the Chinese community for ceremonies such as the launch of new business
premises or for the welcoming of dignitaries.
Lately, the dance has become a form of sport where dancers from all over the world compete to determine the
best.

JESUS, OUR PROPHET:
Dr. Muzammil H. Siddiqi - Fiqh Council of N America
(Say ye: We believe in Allah, and the revelation given to
us, and to Abraham, Isma`il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes,
and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to
(all) Prophets from their Lord: we make no difference
between one and another of them: and we bow to Allah
(in Islam).) (Al-Baqarah 2:136)
(Behold! the angels said: O Mary! Allah giveth Thee glad
tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ
Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honor in this world and
the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to
Allah.) (Aal `Imran 3:45)
We believe in all the prophets and messengers of Allah.
We respect and honor all of them without any discrimination. We believe that all prophets preached the
message of tawheed (oneness of Allah) and all of them
invited human beings to worship Allah alone and to live
righteous lives.
Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)
was not the only prophet of God, but he was the last and
final prophet of God. Prophet Muhammad was not the
founder of Islam; all prophets submitted to God (Muslims) and followed the way of submission to God (Islam).
We believe that Jesus was one of the great prophets of
God.
In the Qur’an, Jesus is called `Isa. He is also known as
Al-Masih (the messiah) and Ibn Maryam (son of Mary).
He has many other honorable names and titles in the
Qur’an. He is a highly respected religious figure. Every
Muslim believes in him, honors him, and loves him. His
mother Mary is also highly respected, loved, and hon-
-ored. There are hundreds of thousands of Muslim men
all over the world who feel proud and blessed to have the
name `Isa, and there are thousands of Muslim women
who feel honored and blessed to be called Maryam.
There is a big controversy going on all over the world at
this time about Dan Brown’s novel, The Da Vinci Code.
This novel is a big thriller, and until now, more than 45
million copies have been sold. Today, a movie based on
this novel has been released. Many Christians, especially
Catholics, are outraged with this novel. In several countries, Christians are protesting and asking their governments to ban this novel and its movie. Some bishops
and cardinals referred to the Danish cartoons against
Prophet Muhammad and said that if Muslims were angry with a few cartoons, we should be even more angry
with this book. Some Muslims and non-Muslims are asking for our reactions to this book.
We as Muslims do not want to be known as people who
react only when something wrong is done to the blessed
name of our Prophet Muhammad. We stand for the respect of all religious figures of all religions. Furthermore,
Jesus (peace be upon him) is also a blessed prophet
for us. We believe in him and honor him. We also have
something to say about this novel and movie.
There are two things that I would like to say about The
Da Vinci Code. One is positive and the other is negative.
The positive thing is that it says that for the first four
centuries, Jesus was known only as a prophet of God,
and not God. At the Council of Nicea around the year
325 CE, the Emperor Constantine and some bishops
changed the true teachings of Jesus.

May 2006, Malaysia’s
Abdul Jalil Dr Malek made history
recently as he was awarded the
second place in the annual Shaikha
Latifa Science Award.
The event is a National level Science fair open to all school children of all ages.
There are six different categories
to choose from - ranging from IT/
Computer to Technology.
Jalil whose project is based on Islamic inheritence, impressed the
judges with his accurate “invention” - a software that allows one
to calculate his/her inheritence
with a touch of a keyboard button!
The software, based on Shafiee
mazhab took more than a month
for him to write. Extensive research on the Internet and few
rounds of discussion with Islamic
scholars helped Jalil to complete
his project.

T
he Da Vinci Code also says that Jesus (peace be
upon him) married one of his female disciples,
Mary Magdalene, and had children and that his
descendants still exist today. Although the Qur’an does
not say anything about Jesus’s marriage, his wife, or
his children (neither does the New Testament), there
is nothing wrong, from the Islamic point of view, if
he were married and had children. Allah says in the
Qur’an, (We did send Messengers before thee, and
appointed for them wives and children: and it was
never the part of a Messenger to bring a Sign except
as Allah permitted (or commanded). For each period
is a Book (revealed)) (Hud 13:38).
S
ome Christians consider this story about Jesus to be blasphemous. According to them, to
say that Jesus was married means that he is
not God. Although they say that God had a son, they
say that Jesus could not have had a son. However,
as Muslims, we say that just because Jesus wasn’t
married doesn’t make him God. Prophet Yahya (John
the Baptist), who was Jesus’ contemporary, was not
married, yet no one considered him to be divine.
Celibacy does not make any person divine. If Jesus were
married, then this does not take away his honor because
there were many prophets who came before and after
him who were married and had offspring. It is interesting
to see a number of books produced today by Christian
writers that also say that Jesus was not crucified and
that he never claimed to be the Son of God. This is what
the Qur’an said a long time ago.
There is, however, a negative side of The Da Vinci Code,
that we as Muslims should criticize. The Da Vinci Code is
a novel, a work of fiction. It does not present facts about
Jesus’s life in a serious and respectful manner. It has
fictionalized his life and story, and in this sense, it has
downgraded this great messenger of Allah.
The author of The Da Vinci Code took some historical facts and then spun a mystery story to thrill and
chill his readers. Allah’s prophets and His messengers
should not be treated in this manner. They are entitled
to receive utmost honor and respect from us. It is for
this reason that Islam forbids making pictures of Allah’s
prophets and messengers and also forbids creating fictitious stories and movies about them.
Islam teaches us that we should present the prophets’
life stories with great care, respect, and the utmost
authenticity. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon
him) said, “Convey from me even if it is one verse. Speak
about Bani Israel without any hesitation; but whosoever
tells a lie about me, let him prepare his place in Hell” (AlBukhari 3202).
