I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to architects, interior
designers, developers and valued guests to South East Asia’s
most eagerly anticipated annual architectural trade event –
ARCHIDEX and ECO-B 2014.
A power packed schedule of daily events, meetings, talks,
launches and networking sessions will keep your itinerary busy
between 25-28 June 2014 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre,
Malaysia.

- that will see a signifi cant congregation of established and
emerging architects joining us for the bi-annual 16th Asian
Congress of Architects (ACA 16), with its theme 'RejuveNATION'.
The 35th General Meeting of the Architects Regional Council
of Asia (ARCASIA) also takes place here in what has been
billed as the most relevant and meaningful week for industry
practitioners.

The stage is set for South East Asia’s
leading business event for the professional
architecture, interior design and building
industry held from 25 – 28 June 2014 at
Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Kuala
Lumpur,
Malaysia.
This is the 15th
installment of this highly successful and
much anticipated annual gathering of
professionals in the architecture, interior
design and the building industry.
It has also earned itself a pivotal position as
a leading gathering among South East Asia’s
fraternity of architects, urban planners,
interior designers, academicians, students
and various industry professionals.
ARCHIDEX has evolved into Malaysia’s
largest multi-national exhibition and
networking event in the industry’s trade
calendar. The Malaysian Association of
Convention and Exhibition Organisers
and Suppliers (MACEOS) has honoured
ARCHIDEX with an Award for Industry
Excellence 2011 and also the Award of Best
Trade Exhibition in 2013.

This year, ECO-B is co-located with
ARCHIDEX in the New Hall 9 at the adjacent
Mandarin Oriental Grand Ballroom. This
3rd Eco Building and Design Exhibition
showcases new technologies, products
and services catering to environmentally
responsible building. Exhibitors will present
a host of innovative ideas and solutions
in an entire hall alongside an exhibition
on green building assessment tools,
rating consultations and local government
legislations.
Exciting BOOTH PARTIES will be a much
sought after feature at this year’s ARCHIDEX
and ECO-B! Formerly known as Architects’
Day and Designers’ Day, these receptions
are hosted by selected exhibitors for new
launches or simply to build rapport with

Ario Susanto
“BIM in Architecture Education: Preparation of Graduates for Future Industry Demands”
Ario graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Architecture) in 2001 on health and residential projects, and
followed-up with a M.Arch from UNSW in 2002, where he then taught for a few years as a tutor and lecturer specialising
in Object Based CAD, Digital Architecture, and Building Information Modelling (BIM). He received an invitational
traineeship award from Tadao Ando - OFIX in Osaka in 1998.
An accreditation with the Engineers Australia as a 'Professional Architectural Engineer' earnt him his permanent
residency in Australia. After a few years involvement as a sessional academic at UNSW, Ario returned to the
architecture mainstream as a graduate architect and BIM specialist with Oldfield Knott Architects.
Since 2010, he has focused on the utilisation of BIM technologies in large multi-disciplinary collaborative environments
as a designer alongside construction teams in mainly alliance and EPC type projects. Currently, Ario works for his
former client, Public Transport Authority of WA as a client-side architectural engineer specialising in multi-disciplinary
technical coordination and BIM.

“Global Issues and Cities”
World citizen, Gaetan Siew’s leadership and his vision of a world of sharing allows him to mobilize and inspire world
leaders around a creative consensus unleashing the full potential of our resources. Past President of the International
Union of Architects UIA, he travelled the world to meet international institutions and governments promoting greater
solidarity. With his in-depth understanding of men, cities and global issues, he continues his mission as CEO of the
Global Creative Leadership Initiative focusing on transforming traditional knowledge into new technology. Lectures
internationally and teaches in France and in China. Serves as board member, resource person to the EU Commission
ICOMOS, Shanghai University and in industry think tanks. Currently Board Member of Future Cities UK focusing on
innovation in city integrated management. Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite of French Republic in 2013.

Essential in image, sophisticated in its
technology, conceptual in its way of
expressing an idea about Ascent offers many
degrees of lighting intensity, through a very
precise dimming, enabled by an electronic
device in the head. The circuits in the stem
send inputs to the microprocessor that
translate the change of status of the lamp
by consequently radiating different degrees
of light. The fundamental novelty lies in the
unusual gesture made to turn on the lamp,
adjust its intensity or turn it off. A vertical
movement, very different from the typical
way of using a dimmer. The small shade
slide along the slender stem with a fluid,
continuous motion, from top to bottom and
vice versa, dimming the light output by
moving the head up and down. An intriguing
gesture whose simplicity actually conceals a
complex process of design and engineering.
The shade is aluminium housing with a semigloss paint finish. The stem is slender but
solid, in extruded thermoplastic, offering a
glimpse of the electronic circuit.

Kogyo, launched “TraceLess”, a revolutionary
new material surface technology that can
withstand most forms of touch stains that
have been bothering designers for the
longest time.
TraceLess uses a patented overlay technology
that prevents oil and moisture from being
trapped on the laminate surface, leaving
unsightly fingerprints a thing of the past.
This innovative material surface have since
garnered both the IF Design Award (from
International Forum Design in Germany) and
the Good Design Award (G Mark from Japan
Industrial Design Promotion Organization).
ADMIRA has currently introduced 2 ecofriendly designs, in matt black and black
synthetic leather options to begin the initial
promotions in Malaysia.
In order to enhance and prolong the quality
of the bi-fold door, Bi-Fold King is equipped
with heavy-duty roller on the top for smooth
