• PFW Engineering was incorporated in 1995.
• In January 2006, PFW Engineering acquired the Design Organisation for the EASA 21J
Airworthiness Certificate for the Dornier 328 aircraft family.
• In June 2006, PFW Aerospace GmbH acquired a strategic shareholding in the PFW
Engineering and in January 2009 PFW acquired 100% of the PFW Engineering.
• PFW Engineering is a worldwide organisation with EASA 21J airworthiness certification with
over 350 engineers rendering engineering design services to all major aerospace customers
in mainland Europe, USA, Japan, UK, and Israel.
• PFW Engineering is a Tier 1 Engineering Supplier to Airbus and Lufthansa Technik as well as

Design Organization Approval (DOA) according EASA.21J.033
From January 2006 to September 2011, PFW Engineering DO GmbH took over
the Design Organisation Approval EASA Part 21J for the 328 Aircraft with 328
SSG being the TC holder.
The DO of PFW Engineering offers today
• employees 50 staff including CVEs (DREs) and Technical Publications which fulfils
the Design Organisation Approval for all ATA chapters.
• Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs)
• Major and Minor Repairs
• Continuous Airworthiness issues

History - Main activities
PFW Engineering took over the Fairchild Dornier/AvCraft EASA21J033 certificate
and the continuous airworthiness activities including customer support.
Today's team still has that core competence and today we support , upgrades,
training, STCs , Technical Publications etc.
Original just for the Dornier 328 and Dornier 328Jet, but today for various aircraft
including STC,s for A319, 747-800 and 767-400 VIP.
PFW Engineering has a Total Quality Management System that meets worldwide
recognized standards and reflects the state of the art for modern Quality
Management Systems.
Today’s PFW processes are based on Airworthiness Authority approvals:•EASA / LBA Design Organization approval to EASA Part 21 Subpart J
•Production Organization approval to EASA Part 21 Subpart G
•Maintenance Organization approval Part 145
•Approved Partner Training Organization to EASA Part 147 requirements.
Additionally our company possesses a Quality Management System approval in
accordance with ISO 9100 (equivalent to AS 9100) for Design, Production, Sales and
Maintenance.

Air Astana: Boeing 757-200 Interior Change
Engineering: STC
• Retrofit Campaign (Program), including Project Management
• As part of a maintenance layover, we modify the interior of 5 Boeing 757-200 MSNs currently
configured according to three different LOPAs
• The modifications are a change to type design, requiring a 21J DOA Approval (STC).
• The project results in an EASA STC as well as installation instructions for five aircraft MSNs.
After project end obligations (e.g. Continued Airworthiness tasks) as well as commercial rights
remain with PFW
• Scope of Work:
– Three A/C (P4-EAS, P4-FAS, P4-GAS) have the identical LOPA and will be upgraded
with new economy seats and IFE and an improved cabin appearance
– Two A/C will be upgraded with improved cabin appearance only

• This modification program is to integrate a Patient Transport Compartment (PTC) on the
Lufthansa A380 and 747-8I aircraft, including:
– two High Comfort Cabin Attendant seats (HCCAS) for doctor and medical staff - one fwd facing, one aft
facing HCCAS, in total three of the Lufthansa 747-8 and three of the A380 will be equipped
• The installation shall be certified with EASA STC or an equivalent minor change approval
under the PFW DOA
• During the initial installation PFW will provide on-site support
