The Lafonisoporo is also sheltered from southerlies and it is in this bay that the more attractive of the beaches can be found. A sandy and pebble beach; underwater rocks nearby. Chrysoskalitissa Monastery is located two kilometres to the south of the bay. A shingle beach and a bay carrying its name after the village where there are shops and a lot of tavernas. One of the safest anchorages on the southern coast of Crete. There is a small beach with a nearby taverna in Fionikias. There is no attractive beach in Loutro, however, there is a shop with basic provisions and lots of tavernas. The bay with a few sandy beaches. Anchoring safe in settled weather only, lots of underwater rocks. Quite well preserved ruins of a stronghold are an attraction here. It is located one kilometre away from an attractive village humming with life, where there are plenty of tavernas, shops, medical aid and harbour master’s office. Entering and leaving the harbour during high northerly wind is impossible.
