NEW 7000 SERIES DIGITAL SCALES RANGE
On the 21st and 22nd October this year, the long awaited digital scales range was unveiled to the angling trade at the 2007 Tackle & Guns trade show. This range has been some four years in the design stage and the first samples were on view at the prestigious event held at the Stoneleigh showground in Warwickshire amidst much excitement from trade and retailers alike.
Two models of 7000 series digital scale were on display at the show, the standard model with a 30kg/66lbs capacity, and the specialist model weighing up to 60kg/135lb. These two models represent the first in the 7000 series range and both will be hitting the market in January next year, with further models including a match and a big game version weighing up to 150kg/330lbs being planned for late in 2008.

Development of the range has been ongoing for some time now in order that the scales will meet the requirements of the modern angler in terms of performance and durability. The software has been designed to be durable and reliable, and ensure that the battery life is maximised for prolonged use during extended fishing sessions.

All scales come with a fifty weight memory as standard which is backed up by a separate power source, allowing the main battery to be changed without memory loss. Weights can be recorded in specific numbered positions for use in match/peg specific situations, as well as being convertible from Kg to Lbs. Store and delete functions are simple to operate and designed to minimise accidental deletion or input of data

pushed. The backlight will automatically turn off after 20 seconds without operation to save power, but will switch on again as soon as movement or operation is detected.
Power
The main power source for the scale is a 9v alkaline battery. Only high quality alkaline batteries should be used to obtain the best performance from the 7000 series models.
Back Up Power
The 7000 series scales have a separate sealed backup power source which is capable of sustaining any memory whilst the main 9v power source is being changed. When the main 9v battery source is in place, power for the memory is drawn from the 9v source. The backup power unit only powers the memory when the 9v battery is not present. Memory back up without the main 9v battery is possible for sustained periods of time, but not advisable. In instances where the main 9v battery is not to be replaced within the foreseeable future, any memory should be recalled and recorded elsewhere for safety.
