Despite its age, Val d’Isère is essentially a modern French style
ski resort built around an historic village. Linked with Tignes
to form “L’Espace Killy” the ski area provides an unsurpassed
variety of skiing which is ranked by ski experts as one of the
best in the world. Over 100 ski lifts (including amazing high
speed funiculars) and 300km of ski runs cater for all abilities.

Chamonix
The oldest and most famous resort in the French Alps.
With over 700km of runs catering for the advanced expert
down to the beginner Chamonix has it all. It also has the
famous Vallée Blanche, The White Valley, 20 km of skiing
with the world’s largest lift-served vertical drop of 2800m.
The lift system is good although the unlinked areas mean
reliance on the very efficient Chamonix bus service.
There are a total of 62 ski lifts including 8 cable cars and
6 telecabines. The town is vibrant with many restaurants,
bars and discos.

Méribel
Méribel lies in the heart of the biggest ski area in the world,
“The Trois Vallees” with 600 km of ski runs and 200 lifts using
one ski pass. Méribel is built entirely in tasteful chalet style,
with wood siding throughout. The centre is very pleasant
with raised walkways by the shops above the one-way road.
The Valley of Méribel is composed of three villages linked
by roads and ski lifts: Méribel-Mottaret, Méribel Village
and Méribel, with its 5 essential districts: Méribel centre,
Altitude 1600, Altiport, Belvédère and Rond Point. Most
are close to the many lifts of the area and there is a
frequent free shuttle bus service.

amidst spectacular scenery and is car free. Horse drawn
or electric taxis or your own two legs are the only form

Skiing takes place in 3 separate areas accessible from
different points in the village, with the option of skiing over
to Cervinia in Italy. The Klein Matterhorn at 3883m and
Theodul Glacier provide reliable snow all season long
