A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT –
It is very hard to believe that we have turned the school calendar to February. February begins the fast paced wrap-up
to the school year at CC and our sons, especially our seniors, will begin counting down the days until graduation.
Thank you to everyone who attended the January General Meeting - it was a warm gathering of CC moms and alumni
moms on a very cold and snowy night. We appreciate you all taking the time to visit with us.
Also thank you for your reservations for our two upcoming events, the Wine & Dine on February 15 and the MotherSon Brunch on March 2. Both events are nearing sell-outs so if you have not yet sent in your RSVP, please do so
immediately. We don’t want anyone left out. As always we appreciate your support.
Starting on February 14, Catholic Central kicks off the Annual DRIVE. DRIVE days are one of the highlights of the
school year for our sons. I encourage each of you to check out the activities associated with DRIVE. It is a week filled
with school spirit, exemplified by skits, class T-shirts, decorations, contests and prizes. The reason and the most
important part of DRIVE is the fundraising. DRIVE funds go to the Catholic Central Tuition Assistance Program which
helps many students attend Catholic Central and be part of this wonderful community. The DRIVE is truly about
Brothers helping Brothers.
Looking ahead into March, please register for our Mothers’ Club Lenten Evening of Reflection to be held on Thursday,
March 20. Fr. Jefferson Thompson, CSB, will be speaking to us on how faith sustains us at all times. Information and
a registration form are included in this newsletter and are posted on the CC website as well.
Also in March, the 39th Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon will be held. This is a wonderful afternoon to share with
girlfriends, mothers, sisters, aunts and grandmothers. The luncheon is held at The Suburban Showplace in Novi on
Sunday, March 30. Please see the newsletter for more information.
If you would like to become more involved and apply for a position on the Mothers’ Club Board for the 2014-2015
school year, the Mothers’ Club Application form and instructions are posted online.
We are blessed to have such a wonderful school community and we look forward to seeing you at these upcoming
events.

We are very pleased to announce a special opportunity for Catholic Central students and their families
to attend The Cross and The Light! Please see the flier on the CC website regarding our trip downtown
to see this wonderful performance on Friday, April 11. (If the boys do well during the DRIVE, then this
will be a day off, making it easy to get to the show!) We will carpool from CC, as needed, or meet

500 CLUB RAFFLE
This is one of our major fundraisers. The 500 Club Raffle offers participants a chance to win $500
in one of eight drawings held throughout the year. Each time a winning ticket is drawn; it is returned
to the barrel and becomes eligible for every remaining drawing.
Tickets are $9.00 each OR three for $25.00 and have been mailed to your home.
Please return your ticket stub(s) and payment at either the Mothers’ Club General Membership Meeting
on September 18 or by mail in the enclosed envelope to:

SOCIAL & RECEPTION COMMITTEE
We are a very busy and active committee at CC. We provide decorations,
refreshments, and hospitality for 15 events held at CC throughout the school
year. We are always in need of volunteers to work our events and bakers to
donate their delicious baked goods. It is a wonderful way to meet other CC
Moms and be involved at your son’s school.
If anyone would like to volunteer to work one of our events we would love to
have you!
Our annual fashion show is quickly approaching and the decorations committee would love your support
in gathering some items. Please email Julie Abeska at [email protected] if you are able to donate

ABOUT THIS NEWSLETTER
We hope you are enjoying the 2013-2014 Catholic Central Mothers’ Club newsletter. This publication
features details on the events sponsored by the various committees associated with the Mothers’ Club
Board. It also provides “save the date” reminders, lets the community know when a member is ill, offers
forms for event registrations, and provides a calendar of events for the coming school year (not all
events, so please also check the school calendar).
Each month you will find this newsletter posted on the Catholic Central website. To access it, visit the CC
home page, go to the very top right and click on Parents. On the left side of the Parents screen select
Mothers’ Club. The newsletter will appear, and you can click right to it. Also, you will receive it as an
email link from Father Huber.
Be sure to check the website every month to keep up with the large number of activities here at Catholic
Central, as well as for opportunities to get involved. We look forward to seeing you at the various
Mothers’ Club events throughout the next few months.
