Tony Duffy conducted his first venue liquor inventory at the tender age of twelve for the family run tavern.
Born into the entertainment and nightlife business, he was immersed in music, art and fashion throughout his adolescence playing all age
venue and party promoter at a very early age, , all the while being very involved in core venue operation activity. After some secondary
schooling and a stretch of active duty in the US Air Force, Mr. Duffy was honorably discharged and made his home once again in Chicago
where he committed himself to the Industry he loves and started his nightlife marketing company Lightning Man Promotions Ltd.
Over the past 15 years, Mr. Duffy has been involved with venues, event equities, celebrity talent and marketing programs that have garnered
international press, trade awards and been the subject of documentary.
From 1989 through 1996, Mr. Duffy was entrenched in the progressive faculties of nightlife playing a key role in property development and
programming for such historic venues as Crobar and Exit in Chicago. In addition to providing programming, talent acquisition, media
relations, production and event management services to venues and event agencies as a consultant Nationwide. Mr. Duffy also created
performance and production based concept events that were toured to nightlife venues throughout the U.S. and featured at amphitheatre
level properties such as Lollapalooza and Ozfest.
In 1996 Mr. Duffy accepted a position with KBA Marketing a Chicago based events and experiential marketing agency where he ascended
to the Director of Events position overseeing a staff of as many as 40 event professionals, building a 53 market event planning and
production infrastructure with a production asset inventory and annual funding in excess of 40 million dollars. Mr. Duffy also contributed to
new business development and experiential programming processes for new and existing clients with both qualifiable and quantifiable
considerations. All the while maintaining his company’s interests without conflict.
In June of 2003, financial conditions caused major clients to discontinue their marketing efforts conducted by KBA Marketing, ultimately
causing the agency’s doors to close. Mr. Duffy then focused back on his Lightning Man Platform where he has experienced great success
and growth.
Tony Duffy was born in Chicago and maintains his residence in the city with his wife, Gina.
With over a decade experience in the luxury hospitality and lifestyle marketing industries Gina is a key driving force behind
LMP’s business interests. As an award winning employee of such companies as Executive Express, Omni Hotels and
Hostmark Management Group, Gina has a unique understanding of the critical importance the consumer and client
experience plays in any business endeavor.
Gina’s recent and current roles in support of chief executives for lifestyle and direct marketing agencies KBA and Draft Inc.,
keep her on the leading edge of trends and activations in these illusive disciplines.
These platforms, along with her gift for environmental design, fashion design and talent styling make for innovative and
insightful contributions to all of LMP’s projects.
Imbedded in Gina’s career history is a well-developed expertise in corporate communication software pillars, presentation
materials development, consumer destination management, Human Resources and project field staff model
development/management.
Gina’s history, combined with her drive and passion for all that is “pre-pop” anchor her in LMP’s collective mission.

has lead to her current renaissance, Trisha Star Productions. Over the past Eight years since she landed in Chicago, she

Over the past 12 years, Scott has lead parallel careers: One as a Technology Strategy consultant for corporate America, and
one as the lead technologist for Lightning Man Promotions. Although the goals may sometimes seem different, they are
effectively the same: Use technology to get most business value possible for your investment.
As a technology strategy consultant, Scott has been responsible for defining cutting edge solutions in technology and
architecture for Fortune 500 companies in the Entertainment, Consumer products and Insurance industries. Recognized as
a thought leader within his firm, he has been named the Knowledge Leader for Strategic Enterprise Architecture and is
responsible for absorbing emerging technologies and evangelizing the benefits to clients. This core set of technology skills
work well across many industries and have allowed Scott to adapt to new business goals or issues quickly.
With many years of experience in rapidly changing environments, Scott is able to quickly morph his thoughts to the
entertainment and nightlife marketing. With strong support and mentoring from Tony Duffy and others associated with
Lighting Man promotions, Scott has been able to inject technology as an enabler to the nightlife experience. Automation,
bleeding edge technologies, and operationalizing nightlife campaigns help increase the net ROI (Return on Investment) of
any event. His blend of strategic thinking and hands-on operational management provide a solid foundation for large scale
events and marketing.
Scott has become a "Jack of All Trades" in the experiential event landscape knowledgeable and capable in all arenas
including out front promotion, media relations, audio, video, lighting, Entry Control Point, security deployment, talent
management, guest and client services.
Eamon began his working career as painter, he attended Columbia College and completed a Bachelor of the Arts in Fine Arts with a focus
on graphic design in the latter years. While bartending for various establishments to pay the bills, Eamon fulfilled his downtime by painting
and creating small graphic works for various clients.
In November of 2000 Eamon began to work as an assistant graphic designer for 555 International (www.555.com). Under direction from
Principle James Geier and Sr. Designer Karen Herold, this aspiring designer began to work with clients such as Old Navy, Gucci, the
Palms and Ni9e Group. Working both as an in-house and as a freelancer designer, Eamon began to develop an eye for the breaking
trends and how to market them visually within the target group needed. Creating several grass roots marketing and print programs for
small bar and club owners offered a platform to grow and create on an explosive level.
During the winter of 2001, Eamon began working for Chicago premier entertainment group, Ala Carte Entertainment. Responsible for the
development of everything ranging from logo design to full on advertising campaign development and delivery, his design and creative
process pushed him upward with in the group quickly. As Sr. Designer, Eamon, manages the graphics, marketing materials and creative
development for over 30 locations, all varying in need and style.
Since 2001 Eamon has worked with outside clients as well as maintaining a full time position @ Ala Carte. Working with such clients as:
The Chicago Economics Club, The Chicago Tribune, Velocity Marketing, Fusion 5 Marketing, C3 Agency, CDK USA Mortgage, Re Max,
Weber Shandwick, SAB Miller, Old Navy, Collaberaction Chicago, UR Chicago Magazine and a host of many others, has offered this
creative mind a vast array of creative challenges.
Eamon maintains his status as Sr. Designer for Ala Carte and is maintaining freelance designer status with Lighting Man Productions Inc
(Chicago), 3 Degrees Global (Chicago) and C3 Agency (New York).
Eamon currently lives in Chicago and can be seen @ www.coroflot.com/madartbiz
Dear Sir or Madam:
Lightning Man Promotions Ltd (referred to as LMP) has been in business since 1993. I have personally handled this account for the past four
years. In this time I have seen how LMP operates. Tony Duffy, president and shareholder, manages his company efficiently with few excesses.
Every cost incurred is vital to the project. This is evidenced by low overhead. Over the past seven years overhead has averaged at 15%. How
does LMP do this? Several factors account for LMP’s financial thriftiness: experience, negotiated efficiencies, and hiring practices.
As stated above LMP has been in business for more than ten years. In this time LMP has developed business relationships with vendors,
independent contractors, and venue owners. They know LMP’s work and the revenues his events generate for the parties involved. Tony
leverages these relationships to negotiate efficient pricing and costs. He carefully budgets each event down to the line item. Long time
experience allows Tony to be accurate in his estimates. Each line item of the budget is negotiated with the vendor. Any line item which may go
over budget is compensated for by other line items coming in under budget. His record keeping is detailed and exact. This has aided me in tax
preparation, but serves LMP as well. It serves as a template for new projects.
LMP employs a hiring practice known as “flash staffing”. This process allows Tony to hire only those individuals or vendors that are needed and
qualified for a particular event.
LMP’s agency fee is negotiable and is under the industry average. LMP can accomplish this because of the efficiencies Tony generates. Your
firm will benefit by staying within budget with no unexpected costs. LMP benefits by receiving the contracted price. Prior experience exemplifies
Lightning Man Promotions ability to stay within budget and avoid costs. Coors Brewing Company awarded Lightning Man Promotions a large
contract for three consequently, each year coming in on budget.
Tony is working hard to increase LMP’s presence in the industry. Over the past couple of years the company has increased its revenues by
forty percent on average. LMP has taken on new projects and revenue streams (i.e. last years Coors project). Using his past experience Tony
creates successful new events profiting all parties involved. Although LMP is striving for a larger presence, it is Tony’s intention to remain
efficient and cost effective.
Twenty percent of any project or program fee is expected at the effective date of LMP’s contracts to allow the project to begin. Monthly
payments are then expected on the first of each month.
Sincerely,
MACK-L ASSOCIATES, INC.
