Working both as an in-house and as a freelancer designer, Eamon began to develop an eye for the breaking trends and how to market them visually within the target group needed. I have personally handled this account for the past four years. In this time I have seen how LMP operates. Tony Duffy, president and shareholder, manages his company efficiently with few excesses. Every cost incurred is vital to the project. This is evidenced by low overhead. Over the past seven years overhead has averaged at 15%. How does LMP do this? Several factors account for LMP’s financial thriftiness: experience, negotiated efficiencies, and hiring practices. As stated above LMP has been in business for more than ten years. In this time LMP has developed business relationships with vendors, independent contractors, and venue owners. They know LMP’s work and the revenues his events generate for the parties involved. Tony leverages these relationships to negotiate efficient pricing and costs. He carefully budgets each event down to the line item. Long time experience allows Tony to be accurate in his estimates. Each line item of the budget is negotiated with the vendor. Any line item which may go over budget is compensated for by other line items coming in under budget. His record keeping is detailed and exact. This has aided me in tax preparation, but serves LMP as well. It serves as a template for new projects. LMP employs a hiring practice known as “flash staffing”. This process allows Tony to hire only those individuals or vendors that are needed and qualified for a particular event. LMP’s agency fee is negotiable and is under the industry average. LMP can accomplish this because of the efficiencies Tony generates. Your firm will benefit by staying within budget with no unexpected costs. LMP benefits by receiving the contracted price. Prior experience exemplifies Lightning Man Promotions ability to stay within budget and avoid costs. Coors Brewing Company awarded Lightning Man Promotions a large contract for three consequently, each year coming in on budget. Tony is working hard to increase LMP’s presence in the industry. Over the past couple of years the company has increased its revenues by forty percent on average. LMP has taken on new projects and revenue streams (i.e. last years Coors project). Using his past experience Tony creates successful new events profiting all parties involved. Although LMP is striving for a larger presence, it is Tony’s intention to remain efficient and cost effective. Twenty percent of any project or program fee is expected at the effective date of LMP’s contracts to allow the project to begin. Monthly payments are then expected on the first of each month.
