FAST™ engineers set out to develop the ultimate fueling strategy for the EZEFI™. The EZ-EFI™ features patent pending technology with the most advanced self tuning control strategy available anywhere today. Simply hook
up the four necessary wires and any optional wires, answer the basic setup
Wizard questions on the included hand-held display and the system tunes
itself as you drive. Countless research and development hours were spent
on a number of prototype test vehicles to develop a high-quality system truly
worthy of the FAST™ brand.
Capable of supporting up to 550 horsepower engines, the FAST™ EZ-EFI™
Self Tuning Fuel Injection System can be purchased as a complete system,
including the ECU, wide-band oxygen sensor, wiring harness, fuel injectors,
optional fuel pump kit and other assorted components, including the innovative 4150 Throttle Body from FAST™.
The FAST™ 4150 Throttle Body delivers the total package approach for anyone with an existing 4150-type intake manifold. Everything comes with the
kit, including appropriate fuel injectors and fuel rails. In addition, it works with
the original carb-style throttle linkage & is ready to accept all OEM sensors.

1.Open throttle blades a small amount to allow engine to idle.
2. Turn key to on position, and allow injectors to prime the
manifold with fuel.
3.Answer a few simple questions on the handheld unit such as:
What rpm do you want to idle at? What size is your engine?
4.Start car & adjust throttle blade to allow car to idle.
5. As vehicle warms up, the handheld unit will tell you when &
how to adjust the throttle blades to the appropriate spot via
an easy-to-read on-screen meter.
6. That’s it! It will learn and adjust the idle and cruise as you
drive and will learn wide-open throttle after a few passes
through the rpm band.
XFI™ Electronic Fuel Injection Systems
Here’s the one electronic fuel injection system with truly revolutionary features and capabilities
in an easy-to-use package. The FAST™ XFI™ system precisely balances fuel and spark, allowing
you to fine tune like never before. The XFI™ system comes with easy-to-navigate software that’s
completely configurable and allows you to set the parameters. Faster processing means no more
flat spots in the power curve or settling for “close enough.” XFI™ is compatible with all common
ignition types, including GM HEI, LT1, LS1, -2, -6, -7 DIS, Ford EDIS (4.6L & 5.4L), and Chrysler 5.7L,
6.1L Hemi applications.
Hardware Improvements
The XFI™ uses the latest in flash microprocessor technology to deliver a significant increase in processing speed. This means the XFI™ can process, analyze and adjust four times faster than previous EFI
systems. In addition, a surface mount component circuit board and billet ECU enclosure give the XFI™
superior durability. And to simplify installation, FAST™ offers engine-specific XFI™ Wiring Harnesses
featuring clearly labeled connections.
Software Advances
The C-Com XFI™ Windows-based software is easy to navigate and incorporates several previously unavailable features, such as field flashable capabilities that enable you to download the latest software
updates via email or directly from the FAST™ website. Stay current without ever removing the XFI™ from
your vehicle.
Special Features
The XFI™ features Qwik Tune™ Technology, which allows ECU programming without a laptop. Preprogram up to four different EFI MAPs, and select the tune-up you need with the flick of an in-car switch.
Optimize one setting for everyday driving, others for racing conditions and still another for improved fuel
economy. Other features include on-board diagnostics, EZ Test™ Indicator Lights, five bar MAP sensing
and controls for your power adder and torque converter. The XFI™ also offers enhanced data logging
capabilities and memory for analyzing up to 8 additional monitored inputs.

Optional System Upgrades
Internal Data Logging (IDL)
FAST™ offers an internal memory-based data logging option to give comprehensive data from
all of your vehicle’s sensors and powertrain controllers. Available as a downloadable add-on for
existing XFI™ owners or as an option with new XFI™ orders, Internal Data Logging allows recording
of up to 24 input channels and sensors to instantly assemble a comprehensive, real-time picture
of exactly what is going on under the hood of your vehicle. Internal Data Logging doesn’t require
additional wiring harnesses or hardware and is an affordable option compared to purchasing an
external data logger. Internal Data Logging is available with new XFI™ purchases, with or without
Intelligent Traction Control™, and in 8 or 16 injector versions.
Intelligent Traction Control™ (ITC)1
One of the toughest challenges for drag racers is the loss of traction that comes from trying to put
too much engine power to the ground with too little tire. The FAST™ Intelligent Traction Control™
solves that problem by using state-of-the art predictive software in conjunction with the most sophisticated electronics in the industry. Available with or without Internal Data Logging and 8 or
16 injector versions, you can even send in your existing XFI™ unit and upgrade to a new one with
Intelligent Traction Control™.
16 Injector Option
The 16 injector option is available for already existing XFI™ units by sending in your engine control
unit and also for brand new XFI™ purchases. This upgrades the XFI™ injector drivers to operate up
to 16 injectors and includes the injector Y adapter.

Without comprehensive data from all of your vehicle’s sensors and
powertrain controllers, it is difficult to identify what changes should
be made in order to correct problems and improve track times.
FAST™ offers the perfect solution in the form of the revolutionary
XFI™ Touch Screen Dash/Data Logger. This unit functions as both
an electronic dashboard and a data logger for vehicles running the
FAST™ XFI™ Fuel Injection System. With its state-of-the-art monitoring and data logging capabilities, the XFI™ Touch Screen Dash/Data
Logger can assemble a comprehensive, real-time picture of just
what is going on under your vehicle’s hood.
The XFI™ Touch Screen Dash/Data Logger features a 6-inch, fully programmable LCD touch screen
display and has the ability to display its data in a multitude of scales, units and gauge configurations.
Its backlit display can be user-customized to a wide variety of configurations at the touch of a finger
or stylus. Engineered to work with any level of vehicle modification from stock to all-out race, the
XFI™ Touch Screen Dash/Data Logger is able to monitor and display output from a variety of different
input sources, including frequency (rpm, wheel speed etc.), analog input and sources that require
programmable input parameters such as MAP and MAF. As a data logger, the unit has a 2 MB memory
module* that will store up to one hour of data.

trust in the way of crank triggers for their 400 &
500 hp daily drivers. Until now, flying magnetic
trigger wheels with bulky inductive pickups
have been used with the risk of broken magnets or losing magnets at high engine rpm,
which is detrimental to engine efficiency. But
not any more.
The FAST™ Crank Trigger is a magnet-free device with a wheel constructed from ASTM A36
grade steel that is so strong that it is only .125inch thick and is virtually indestructible. With
the wheel being this thin, it not only weighs less
but requires less space than competitors’ aluminum versions. The FAST™ inductive sensor
is also much smaller than others on the market
and is hermetically sealed with the connector
molded into the body. This sensor is used by
OEMs both on and inside the motor and provides accurate timing and is long lasting.

Choosing your Precision-Flow™ Fuel Injectors
1. Take your target peak horsepower and multiply by
• .5 for naturally aspirated
• .625 for turbocharged
• .6 for supercharged
2. Take that figure and divide by the number of cylinders.
3. Divide by .9 (for 90% duty cycle).
This
will give you the lbs/hr you will need from each injector.
Example: 520 horsepower, naturally aspirated V8
(520 x .5=260), (260/8=32.5), (32.5/.9=36)

Throttle Bodies™ for the FAST™ LSX™ 92mm & LSXR™ 102mm Intake Manifolds increase airflow through a series of innovative design changes and a slightly enlarged throttle opening. FAST™ also invested significant testing & engineering
resources into optimizing cross-sectional flow and eliminating airflow turbulence, especially at part throttle operation.

Available for Small Block and Big Block Chevy (9.8" deck height) engines, as well

FAST™ XFI™ Single Plane Intake Manifolds are designed to produce tremendous

All manifolds are designed to accept square bore, four-barrel 4150-style throttle

MaxJet™ Precision Carb Jets
Often you will hear a racer say, “I made two jet changes, but the engine still didn’t run properly.” The reason
for this relates directly to the jets being used. Other jets are mass-produced with a wide tolerance, then plated.
Many of these jets use the same orifice size with the only difference being different angle tapers that supposedly
change the flow-rate characteristics. Other jets also use a “slot” that requires a special, expensive tool to install.
Ultimately, these slots become damaged and that damage creates a turbulence that severely affects the fuel flow
as much as 50 percent.
MaxJet™ Precision Carb Jets are available from 0.050” to 0.120” in gasoline jets and from 0.121” to 0.140” in
alcohol jets. Sizes are in 0.001” increments and are compatible with all known racing fuels. MaxJet™ Precision
Carb Jets are easily crossed over from Holley jets; simply find the Holley size that you’re currently using and follow
over to the MaxJet™ column.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the advantages and differences between the new XFI™ unit and my older style “classic” FAST™ system?
The XFI™ computer processor is four times faster than the “classic” system, allowing it to control more features simultaneously. The new XFI™ system uses a 104
pin wire harness versus a 60 pin wire harness on the “classic” system; again, these additional pins allow more features and devices to be controlled by the XFI™.
Additionally, performance features that had to be purchased separately with the “classic” FAST™ system are now included with XFI™ at no additional cost. Just
click on the features you want to control in the included tuning software, i.e. four stage power adder control, boost control, traction control, etc. The XFI™ can also
be run in either batch fire or sequential mode. If you choose sequential mode, you will automatically have individual cylinder control of both spark and fuel.
Can my older “classic” FAST™ system be upgraded to an XFI™?
Due to design differences, the “classic” FAST™ system cannot be upgraded to an XFI™. You will be required to purchase both a new ECU and wiring harness.
With the new XFI™ system, do I need a separate data logger?
The XFI™ can be purchased with or without Internal Data Logging (See page 5). If purchased without the data logging feature, the XFI™ will record to a laptop when
connected. FAST™ also offers an easy-to-use external data logger that simply plugs into the XFI™. The external data logger will record up to one hour of data and
does not require the use of a laptop (See page 9).
I have an XFI™ but I would like to have some of the newer options such as Internal Data Logging and/or Intelligent Traction Control™. Can I add these options to my existing XFI™ ECU?
The answer is yes. Internal Data Logging can be added as a download via e-mail, or FAST™ can send a CD with the necessary option file. To upgrade an existing
XFI™ to Intelligent Traction Control™, you will need to send in the ECU, and FAST™ will upgrade it with the option file and a new billet enclosure that clearly identifies the ECU as having this option. You must call first and obtain a Return Authorization Number before sending an ECU in for this upgrade. For more information

Can I have my XFI™ upgraded to ITC (Intelligent Traction Control™) without changing the enclosure?
Each and every XFI™ that has the ITC option must be in a black billet ITC enclosure. In addition to this, there is an ITC-specific LED sequence that appears at key
on. This allows tech officials to identify an ECU with the Intelligent Traction Control™ option.
Is Intelligent Traction Control™ legal in my class
ITC is not legal in all sanctioning bodies/classes. It is the user’s responsibility to check with his or her sanctioning body to make sure that an electronic traction
control device is legal in competition.
What hardware is required to use the Intelligent Traction Control™?
The only device required to take advantage of our ITC technology is a driveshaft speed sensor. See page 7 of this catalog for driveshaft speed sensor kits.
What’s the difference between “batch firing” or “bank-to-bank” vs. “sequential” systems? Which do I need?
Batch fire systems fire all the injectors simultaneously. Bank-to-bank systems fire the fuel injectors in “banks”; half of them fire on one engine revolution and
the other half fire the next engine revolution. A sequential system fires the fuel injector for each individual cylinder in the firing order of the engine. In most cases,
bank firing will be fine, but if you’re using an extremely radical camshaft, high boost, or over 600 horsepower, you might find sequential to be a slightly better fit.
It will usually make marginally more power and help some radical engines idle better.

MAP
TPS
ECU
CAN - Controller Area Network
An electronic hardware standard that permits simplified, high speed interfacing between electronic control units in a vehicle environment. For example, the FAST™ XFI™
system can communicate with the FAST™ Transmission Controller through the use of its CAN bus.
ECU - Engine Control Unit
A vehicle-mounted engine control computer that varies engine behavior such as fuel injector activity, idle speed, air/fuel ratio, ignition timing, etc. based on input from
an array of sensors including O2, TPS, and others.
EFI - Electronic Fuel Injection
A means of injecting fuel into the intake manifold of an internal-combustion engine using various types of fuel injectors that are controlled by an ECU (see below). EFI
takes many forms, including throttle body injection (TBI) where a carburetor-like throttle body houses the injector(s), and port injection, where rail-mounted fuel injectors
feed into each runner of the engine intake manifold.
MAP - Manifold Absolute Pressure
A n engine sensor that measures intake manifold vacuum. Generally measured in bars, MAP data is used to measure engine load, which in turn allows the ECU to regulate
engine behavior such as fuel supply and air/fuel ratio.
O2 - Oxygen
Commonly used either as a shorthand term for an oxygen sensor or to describe oxygen as it is measured in engine exhaust gases. O2 data is primarily used by an ECU for
the purpose of regulating the engine air/fuel ratio.
TCU - Transmission Control Unit
A vehicle-mounted transmission control computer that varies transmission behavior such as shift points, shift firmness, downshifting and torque converter lockup based
on engine load, vehicle speed and other variables.
TPS - Throttle Position Sensor
A n electronic sensor, generally mechanically linked to the throttle body of an EFI engine for the purpose of measuring how far the throttle is opened when the vehicle
operator steps on the vehicle throttle pedal. Throttle position data is generally expressed in terms of percentage and plays an important role in many ECU functions, not to
mention determining when power adders such as nitrous are deployed.
VATS - Vehicle Anti-Theft System
A n anti-theft circuit built into most GM fuel injection ECUs made after 1989. VATS must be bypassed with a special chip in order for some EFI engines to run when swapped
from one vehicle to another.
VSS - Vehicle Speed Sensor
A n electronic speed sensor, generally mounted in the output shaft housing of a transmission (a VSS may also be mounted at a wheel or other location). VSS data is used
by both ECUs and TCUs for a variety of purposes, including torque converter lockup, downshifting, etc.

period begins from the date of purchase. We recommend that you keep your invoice or receipt because proof of purchase date is required.
This limited warranty shall only cover the original purchaser.
The warranty does not include the following:
A. Any product that has been physically altered, improperly installed or maintained.
B. Any product used in an improper application, abused or not used in connection with the proper parts.
C. Any product that is defective due to neglect, unauthorized repair or as the result of an accident.
There is no implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. The FAST™ obligation under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of its products. There are no warranties that extend beyond the description on the face of this warranty. FAST™ will not be responsible for incidental,
consequential, indirect, special or exemplary damages or any third-party claims or property damage or personal damages resulting from use of its products. If
there is by law an implied warranty of merchantability and/or fitness, it is limited to the warranty terms set forth above.
This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other legal rights which vary from state to state or country to country.

B. Send the merchandise, freight prepaid and insured to FAST™ at the address below, along with dated proof of purchase. All merchandise returned for warranty
must be accompanied by an RMA. The purchaser must prepay transportation charges for return of defective parts. FAST™ is not liable for any taxes or duties
