London 2015
Welcome
The 1660s were an important decade for London, not least for
the plague and fire. There were also some important discoveries
in the world of wine and, perhaps most relevant to us, it was the
first recorded use of the word ‘esoteric’ in English. Meaning
‘understood only by those few people who have the necessary
special knowledge’, we thought it a fitting name for the specialist
importers and wines contained within.
Now in its second year, we have even more importers, regions and varieties
on offer. All of the exhibitors have necessary, specialist knowledge in their
areas and are ready to impart that knowledge to our visitors.
esoterica is a celebration of the rare, a celebration of the diversity of the UK
wine market and a celebration of the wine world in all its wine ranging glory.
We hope you enjoy it and, in turn, become one of the initiated few.
