FROM THE OFFICE OF FINANCIAL AID
The financial aid application process has begun for the 2011-2012 academic year. All students
will need to complete the FAFSA on the web. Anyone needing assistance with completing the FAFSA
should bring copies of their parents’ and their 2010 income tax returns, and /or documentation of all
income received during 2010 to the Office of Financial Aid.
Students who have been awarded College Work-Study for the spring semester and have not
been placed in a job assignment should report to the Office of Financial Aid to receive an assignment.

Religious Emphasis Week: February 22-25
Dr. Jackson returns to deliver messages of spiritual transformation
Reverend Dr. Charles B. Jackson, Sr. will be the guest preacher for the
morning and evening worship services in observance of the Morris College
Religious Emphasis Week. Dr. Jackson is the senior pastor of West Columbia’s
Brookland Baptist Church.
Worship services will take place in the college’s Neal-Jones Auditorium at 10 a.
m. and 7 p. m. on Tuesday through Thursday. The final message will be delivered
on Friday morning at 10 a.m.
A graduate of Benedict College, Dr. Jackson has a Master of Divinity degree
from the Morehouse School of Religion of the Interdenominational Theological
Center (ITC) in Atlanta, Georgia. He was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of
Divinity from Morris College.
Dr. Jackson’s capability as a preacher, pastor, administrator and leader is known throughout the state and
nation. A past president of the South Carolina Baptist Congress of Christian Education and past moderator of
the Gethsemane Baptist Association, he holds membership in numerous denominational, civic and community
organizations.
For now the eleventh consecutive year, Morris College is honored to have Dr. Jackson return to the campus.
His timely and relevant sermons help the entire campus community, as well as other attendees, reflect on the
meaning of our lives and our connection with God.
Dr. Jackson is a member of the college’s Board of Trustees of which he serves as the Vice-Chairman. He is
married to the former Robin Hoefer and they have two adult children and three grandchildren.
In honor of his pastoral leadership to the Brookland Baptist Church, the congregation and many others will
be “Celebrating Four Decades of Leadership, Loyalty, and Love” on February 27.
