JOIN OUR TEAM TO MAKE YOUR - Texas Dragon Boat Association
WELCOME Dear Friends, On behalf of the Board of Directors of Texas Dragon Boat Association, we welcome you to the 16th Annual Houston Dragon Boat Festival. We have an exciting fun filled weekend planned for your enjoyment that will include our Dragon Boating on Buffalo Bayou, Cultural Arts Performers and live entertainment on our Main Stage, diverse merchants in our Vendor Zones, and unique food choices and food trucks in our Main Square. This year, we have expanded our weekend slate of events to include the 1st stop of the Texas Paddle Racing Series for SUP called the Beating in the Bayou. Teaming with Rio SUP and Island Paddle, there will be a 5k, 10k, and Poker run and entertainment by The Billy Bourban Band on Sunday, May 8th. The integration of dragon boat paddlers and paddlers from other genres has begun, and as always, Texas Dragon Boat Association is among the leaders in the effort. We are excited and humbled at the growth of Dragon Boating over the years. Dragon boating not only provides a unique teambuilding experience for the participants, but also an opportunity to enhance mutual understanding and friendly relations between China and the US and encourages dialogue between diverse cultures. The events hosted by our organization provide the dramatic spectacle of the racing experience, accompanying music, dance, martial arts performances, and family friendly activities. We hope you will be inspired to participate as a paddler, steersperson, planning volunteer, and supporter of the Texas Dragon Boat Association as we work to promote the tradition of Dragon Boating, increase awareness of Asian-American culture, and enhance cross-cultural understanding.
